No, it's purely optional, just adds a GUI option to unlock wallet for minting, it's not mandatory at all!

when i try to install the update for windows wallet tell`s me tha i don`t have lilbgcc_s_dw2-1.dll in my computer.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

difficulty is calculated based on how much time it took for the previous block to be generated, including PoS blocks
