is there a working version for the 1.15x because using the cgminer 3.1.1 (patched) I am always getting HW errors:

After this old thread popped to the top of the stack here after your inquiry re X11 fpgas I've had a very enjoyable and educational time reviewing it from the beginning.

BTC @ USD $2.50 and people fretting about profitability due to electrical costs … I wonder how many of you who took the plunge on this fpga board, kept the coin until Nov 2013, sold and looked back at this episode with a big grin ?

You need to use the modified cgminer at https://github.com/kramble/FPGA-Blakecoin-Miner/tree/master/cgminer/cgminer-3.1.1

I wouldn't recommend mining scrypt on the ztex boards as the performance is pretty poor (60kHash/sec) and support is much more limited (as I mentioned upthread, I've moved on from this project so you're subject to my whim as to whether I'll help out), but as BR0KK said, there is some information at https://github.com/kramble/FPGA-Litecoin-Miner/tree/master/experimental/Ztex-1-15y

As for the github, you don't really need to download stuff from there unless you want to compile things from scratch as everything you need is on dropbox linked from the README's which are displayed at the bottom of the github pages (just scroll down and click on the links), but if you do want to download the source, just go to the top of the github site eg https://github.com/kramble/FPGA-Blakecoin-Miner or https://github.com/kramble/FPGA-Litecoin-Miner and click on the "Download Zip" button on the bottom right side of the page (there are other ways, but only recommended for github experts).

You need a patched cgminer and the images for the ztex. Details here:

Ya know, I honestly dont understand that GitHub site. Am I supposed to be able to download a single file to get all those files or do I need to download them one at a time?

I've got 9 Ztex 1.15y's sitting around doing nothing. Mining blackecoin or bitcoin or whatever would at least give these things something to do....

Since I'm getting talked about, I suppose I ought to give some explanation.

I last did any significant work on this project back in September when I was able to push the performance up to around 15kHash/sec per LX150 on a dual-fpga Lancelot board which was my main development platform at the time. This seemed to be the limit to what I was able to achieve and interest was waning in the project (mining only a few cents per day seemed rather pointless).

Then BlueDragon announced his BlakeCoin project and asked me to develop a FPGA miner for it, so I did some work on that (again just for the Lancelot board). He then loaned me a Ztez 1.15y and Enterpoint Cairnsmore CM1 so I ported the blake miner to those boards, and since it was a relatively simple task I also ported the scrypt miner. That was the easy part, the difficult part was doing a cgminer port to support these FPGAs on scrypt (the mainstream cgminer assumed GPU mining and the scrypt code was not even compiled in unless mining on GPU). Big can of worms. I got 3.1.1 working, sort of, but it's buggy and not my proudest achievement.

Just recently some new developers joined the FPGA scrypt mining project, with the aim of porting to a NexSys board and asked me to help. Now I'm happy to give advice and so forth, but we're now almost six months on from my main development effort, and I'm now rather rusty on my original code, plus a little burned out from a seemingly endless cycle of trying to coax the Xilinx ISE toolchain into building an efficient bitstream. So I said no. Unfortunately this seems to have been interpreted as "kramble quit the project", which seems a little strongly worded, but I suppose it's fair as I'm not currently working on it, though I haven't "quit" in the sense of abandoning the project entirely. It just seems a little pointless getting back up to speed on it for the sort of hash rate improvement that might be possible, after all, "THE ASICS ARE COMING" !!

Anyways, if you've got a ztex 1.15y or 1.15x board sitting idle, you'd be better advised to mine BlakeCoin rather than scrypt. A quad board will give roughly 1.5GHash/sec on blake, which is currently returning somewhere around 50 BLC per day (give or take as the diff is bouncing up and down quite wildly at the moment), which currently exchanges at around 0.0001 BTC per BLC, which I reckon is something like 3 dollars a day. Not bad

Tried it and that miner gets 60ks/s out of a quad. Something about 13,5 khs/s each FPGA
