Result: Earned a lot of merit.

🚩 Fooled the merit senders, the entire community.

🚩 An arrogant lower level cheap disrespectful towards others who he does not like and trash talker. I don't need to quote anymore to prove it. Anyone can see it from his attitude towards others.

Read his posts history. How many will agree with me that his English is very good, better than my English who lived in England for over nine and half years and had a higher degree from one of the University there. It's like in only 8 months he had a massive change from using auxiliary tools.

Ratimov was not someone who started the account Ratimov. Before creating the account Ratimov this guy had months if not years of experience on the forum. After the introduction of merit system when he was not ranking up because of shit posting and realized that shit-posting will not earn him good money, he drafted a blueprint and the product is Ratimov. I would not wonder if this guy has more accounts and milking this forum at its top level. How this guy or guys like him are not dangerous for this bitcointalk community?

I have not checked this forum for the past two weeks. This summer of my posting was fun and cathartic, but I am now busy with regular work so that activity won't return soon.
Much more importantly, I stopped posting because I would like to have 100 activity and 200 merit. It's too cute, so didn't want to ruin that too soon with the wrong post. (edit: Oh crap, I forgot about how things add +14 activity.. Hmm, I should have thought about this more. I will have to see whether I can get a different integer multiple.) Which in part is why I was silently editing two meta-wiki posts that could translate portions to the public wiki.

Now I am in the awkward position of having to have an uneven amount of activity and merit.

From the data I saw, RainbowKun's post on Bitcointalk with the one in Article ibtctrade, is exactly the same, the difference is in English and Chinese translations.

And I don't know who wrote this article first from the release date on Bitcointalk to the one released on ibtctrade, also different but there is a slight difference in every post done by RainbowKun on Bitcointalk, if translated into Chinese almost on average you can find the same words, on google.

There is a possibility RainbowKun translates Chinese articles into English, this is just my guess maybe those who have expertise in that field can try the two language options, English and Chinese, you will find it.

It's possible to sell off higher-ranked accounts with a lot of merits/sMerits.  That's one way to make money from having a bunch of ranked-up accounts.  Another way is to actually create a bounty farm, with friends/family members participating with the accounts once they've achieved a rank where their earnings can be at least near maximized.  It doesn't have to be only one person doing all the work, you know.

Did you report that guy for plagiarism?  I'm going to do it now just in case.  I've had enough of this shit.

Most of these accounts have been copy/translate/pasting -- the best way to slow them down is to get them banned for plagiarism. And like I said, if the mods can't recognize non-English plagiarism for what it is, I will tag these accounts as cheaters in the meanwhile.

I’ll start with the second part of the quote. Let’s start by understanding briefly what plagiarism on this forum means:
It’s the intent to pass somebody else’s content as one’s own. Now this can be done for a wide variety of reasons, as my time here on the forum has shown me. Reasons such as the following would come to mind (non-exhaustive):

-   To pretend to know more than one really knows.
-   To go merit fishing.
-   To create a content with minimal effort.
-   To build-up Activity (again with no effort).
-   To make-up for one’s limitations on posting skills and/or language.

Note that I am not implying that any one of those applies to you here, as I’m simply trying to set a basis for a common understanding on what plagiarism here is.

Now plagiarism can be total (all the content is plagiarized), partial (a small or not so small part), or word-spun based (instead of a copy/paste, it’s a copy/spin/paste).

In order to avoid being accused of plagiarism, it is sufficient to add a reference to the correct sources at the time of creating the post. Some may disagree if that should exonerate all content from falling under the said categorization, but it seems to be the consensus and tradition here. Some people additionally add them simply as a means to reference further reading.

Of course, you may encounter situations whereby the referenced source is really not the source to the content, or that the source is added in the aftermaths to being accused of plagiarism. It falls upon the moderators to determine if a text is plagiarized to some extent, and if the source is present (and possibly, if it was in a timely manner and if it even points to where it should). I figure a report of such accusations to the moderators is a prerequisite, which does not mean it may be debated here and there amongst forum members.

In general terms, most of what we post on the forum is rehashed from somewhere, be it some recent article, video, book, essay or whatever we’ve used as a cognitive source. When one expresses that content in his own words, it is logically not going to fall under the plagiarism categorization.
Historical facts are obviously cognitively obtained from multiple sources at different points in time. Hell, I know people who could depict factual correct historical from the top of their mind, with no need to consult any reference.

The bottom line is not what is reflected per se, but whether it is totally or partially attributable to the exercise of the prior depicted meaning and implications of the forum’s understanding on plagiarism.


Now as to what I meant in my prior post, which you indicate you understood. The question stands on why the extract of text depicted by @nutildah show an apparent exercise of text spinning. You must admit that this does seem like a (small) exercise of text spinning. To make it easier to follow my narrative, I’ll replicate the said post here:

The discussion is not over the historical facts, but rather, specifically, if in order to expose them here, some intended word spinning was used. Bear in mind that, additionally, at the time of publication on the forum, the article bore no reference links.
