do you have a trust list?

Not yet

do you know how default trust works?

Not really rocket science. I can say I have a slight grasp of what's happening and why (or I may be delusional, I have been known to be wrong before)

Still... what does default trust, trust network, depth, inclusions, exclusions, DT user changes etc have to do with NEGATIVE FEEDBACK FOR THE GUY'S USERNAME ?
I may still be a newbie at heart but just curious tho Smiley

The trust system will not be fooled by such a pity excuse for "grey" hacking.

... then come back and apologise to me

As I mentioned before, I have been known to be wrong before, so if I really am in this case and the root of all this is nefarious and not curiosity, as I assume, then will surely do !

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to"Non-custodial"
There are a fair number of users using ~ in their usernames:
A few non-newbies that use ~ in the beginning:
     ~
~Money~
~BitSy~
~ErMaK~
~Spawn~
~Master~
~Bitcoin~
~Trololoh~
~CrockRoch~
~Coinseeker~
~BtcRoll.com~
~AnonCoinMan~

I don't see anything wrong with that. What is the difference between ~ or / or # or #^&#&^#^#&#%#&$#^$#&#^ ? (except the number of characters) Can't comprehend what the big deal is thb.
There is no hack, no wrong use of any forum system, no harm...

No offense but that even sounds wrong "I do not trust this user due to the username they set up"
That feedback should be withdrawn. There is no rational reason for that (even if user is not bothered too much about it, as it seems)

My only problem is that the squiggly ("~") at the beginning of the username is used in the trustlist maintenance to indicate distrust of a member, so in that regard, it seems potentially confusing to the system to be using that squiggly.. at least in the beginning of the username...that seems to be why TMAN is redflagging ~DefaultTrust.  Another reason, of course, is that sometimes members will bolster their trustlist by either including or excluding defaulttrust from their trust list, so having that "~DefaultTrust" as a username could inadvertently cause members to trust that member when they had not intended to do so.

if you answer no to the above then you shouldn't be commenting here,

Just for fun.

Enjoy the tag for being a slippery cunt then

I don't know if i understand the whole concept to allow any user to create a name with "~" as the first character.. or even if it is necessary to allow that character to be in the user name at all?  Couldn't the forum software disallow the creation of usernames with such character, at least minimally as the first character?  Anyone know?  Loyce?

Seems misleading, as TMAN's red tag of "~DefaultTrust" suggests.

I'll give you a loophole: empty your Trust list each Saturday morning, right before theymos' weekly Trust data dump. Then, after theymos' update, you can restore your Trust list for the following week.
If you do this weekly, the only way to see your Trust list will be if someone includes only you (please don't use a DT1-account for this!).

Not a very convenient way  Sad
The dump from theymos not easy to parse without technical means. But your site provides the ability to view the data to any noob.
For example: the dump from theymos is like encrypted (poor encrypted) wallet, but your service is a password.

Maybe some people don’t like that their trust list is so easily accessible.
I'm okay with that. And so is theymos, see http://bitcointalk.org/trust.txt.xz.

To prevent such hacker way it may be will better if you will blacklist users at their request?
I've been asked to censor data before. I don't censor data.

However, if you want a loophole out of my Trust list viewer, I'll give you a loophole: empty your Trust list each Saturday morning, right before theymos' weekly Trust data dump. Then, after theymos' update, you can restore your Trust list for the following week.
If you do this weekly, the only way to see your Trust list will be if someone includes only you (please don't use a DT1-account for this!). This should show the 30,000 users you've included on their Depth 1.

Thanks for helping me improve my Trust list viewer Tongue

LoyceV add this: show the raw Trust list for blacklisted users, this shouldn't be a loophole to hide their Trust list from my viewer!

9 hour bump, I know I'm breaking bending the rules but I also know people are waiting for this update. See edited previous post for the link!
As discussed in the past week: you're going to want to use Firefox. Chrome won't load the (very large) page.

There are 30,000 more Trust relations this week than last week. The total went up from 41,582 to 71,860, which means data processing takes much longer.
The number of users on or with a custom Trust list went up from 13,128 last week to currently 42,305. This also means the people who couldn't load the last update in Chrome for sure can't load the new version. It's going to be big!

I don't know yet if I caught all recent username changes. If I missed one, I'll have to restart today's update.

Update: I found the cause, see Request: Nuke user ~DefaultTrust for impersonating and Trust List trolling. I'll create my first Trust list viewer blacklist, I don't want my data to be polluted by a troll. Congratulations to ~DefaultTrust for being the first user to get his Trust list blacklisted by me Shocked

Update:
NEW: Blacklist
The following users are blacklisted for Trust list spam:
Being blacklisted means I don't process their Trust list. I still show their inclusions/exclusions from other users.

There's a temporary version of my Trust list viewer available:
http://loyce.club/other/tmp/blacklist_reason/2020-01-11_Sat_05.10h/index.html
This ridiculously long list shows the reason for blacklisting ~DefaultTrust. See also the ridiculously long Trust list for: ~DefaultTrust.

I wouldn't know what to change to make Chrome load it, maybe 50,000-ish links without proper HTML headings is a bit much.
I wouldn't worry to much. Just put in a warning header or something of the sorts. Most people have a second browser available if they normally use chrome. Worst case scenario you copy paste the link or bookmark the page in that browser if you don't want to log into the forum through it.
Maybe it's just me but it was really only a small annoyance that's why I never brought it up and just kept trucking along.

I'm on mobile and can't check for sure - I know it doesn't work on my phones chrome either.
I have the same problem on mobile, and indeed, that's Chrome.

Simple fix - use Firefox. Wink

Sorry for the late jump in. When using chrome i can't access anything beyond what loads on the initial page. If i scroll or click a link nothing loads. If i use explorer then it works fine. I'm on mobile and can't check for sure - I know it doesn't work on my phones chrome either. It will load using the samsung internet browser.

So at least on my end it's a chrome issue - imagine that lol
