That's completely dependent on how the rental site manages it.  Sometimes you'll get one bridge, other times you'll get more.

It's very likely that your rental was either stopped on NH end and then restarted there... or different bridges were established from NH, which the pool would consider a new connection and would start at 1042.

This is supported in the logs...

At 14:45:59 you had a share accepted with diff 9985
At 14:47:50 your worker was authorized (i.e. a new connection)
At 14:47:50 your worker was authorized on another thread (another new connection)
At 14:48:03 your worker was authorized on a third thread (new connection)
At 14:49:13 the first share was accepted at diff 1042.

For some reason, the rental service established new connections for your worker, which caused the pool to default back to the starting diff of 1042, until it was adjusted.

Should there be one or more bridges in a rental (I have three bridges at the moment) ? However, I made another small order on CKPool to test things out, there is only one bridge for that rental and hashing speed is practically the same.

Experiencing right now the 1042 diff issue on a rental of 15TH. All day everything was working perfectly ...

If it continues I will terminate the order and start with the new port setting.

Edit : Seems to be back to normal again ...

Hey everyone,

In the interest of supporting large hash rate renters, I've opened up port 3334.  Diff starts at 65535.  The lowest it'll go is 8129.  The highest it will go is 1048576.  So, if you want to use that please feel free.

Code:
./cgminer -o stratum+tcp://stratum.bravo-mining.com:3334 -u username.workerName -p workerPassword

Enjoy.

Sweet thanks Smiley

You should update the pool main page.

The diff starts at 1042 and adjusts.  NH shouldn't be complaining that the difficulty is too low since they supposedly allow down to 127 as a start from a pool.  If you guys want, I can open a new port with a higher starting difficulty specifically geared for large hash rentals.  If so, it'll take me a little bit and require me to bounce the stratum servers.

Sounds interesting considering a lot of us are renting 500 TH or more, let's try it.
The problem is caused by the fact that not-so-nice-hash can let the hash rate drop due to how their system works.
When that happens, they still expect the pool to keep the diff high.
Yes they cause the problem themselves Tongue

I don't disagree, however my S5 and A6 both showed the same behavior (neither was showing a diff higher than 1042 for the duration of the "issue").  Once it cleared up both ramped beyond the 1042.  I don't have a static base diff set on any pools.

That's truly odd because there's nothing in the logs, and I didn't restart the stratum servers.  Unless connectivity to the servers was lost at the data center and all miners were disconnected... but that's on my provider.  I'll have to see if there was a service disruption that they didn't notify me about.

If the issue happens again I will let you but till now all looks good.

It's an odd thing.

All of my miners all showed all of a sudden a diff of 1042 in the bravo-mining workers page.

We're talking miners that are normally 2000+.  At the same time my NH rental showed the "too low" error and I was seeing it as only 1042 on my bravo-mining workers page too.

It's like the server got "stuck" there for some reason for a short while.

Interestingly it seemed to show up after my miners failed over when Kano's pool died for a few minutes.

Same here. All my miners (except for a small Antminer U3) were at 1042. However, now it seems all is back to normal, even my order on WH look to be going well. But no block yet ... Sad

Well, thanks to the renter who put up an infinite order earlier, I've still got about 3.5 hours left of my rental.  I continue to perform the requisite rituals and sacrifices to the block gods in hopes of gaining their favor Smiley

I love seeing the infinite orders.  Let's hope you hit Smiley

I'll take a look at the logs to see if something happened on the server side.  I certainly didn't bounce anything... Been stuck in client meetings for the past 3 hours.
