I've got another 11hrs on my 15th.

Once it's done I'll take a look at prices and maybe get a bigger one in (500+).

Well I rented a little more hashing power this morning but somebody is rent 3PH today, so maybe it will kick in later on. Grin

How can you tell that someone rented that much?

You can tell on the rental site that someone has a large order placed and in turn if their price is highest they get the miners...but when he says about kicking in later I believe he is talking about his rented hash kicking in on this pool once the big players rental runs out and the price comes back down to where he has his. You can not tell from the pool if the hash is owned or rented, unless you know the person and they have a huge jump in hash rate on the pool.

Amazon also.

Ive always thought about selling on Amazon but they want you to be a business.  I can't use it as an individual without a bunch of annoyances Sad  (at least that I've found)

Thanks bctmke didn't know about such services. Will have to do some homework before deciding on how to proceed.

Any idea were can I put my miners for sale before investing in better ones ?

eBay is also an option if its available to you.

There are places right here on these forums where you can sell items Smiley.

Sorry for asking stupid questions but I'm quite new to the bitcoin community so I'm still learning things. Will search a bit around a see what I find Smiley  Thanks Jonny ...

Definitely will keep a look out... I've got 8 S3s and an S5 to replace.  Who knows... If I can get a good enough price maybe I'll do a promo or something.  Probably wait until Kano's is over, though.

Good call Smiley

I've thought about getting rid of my S5 but I'll probably just move it out of my basement when I finally get something bigger (it'll go somewhere hosted because I can the same or cheaper costs hosted)

I have 2x S5 which I really wish to upgrade with one or two S7. When you say you'll go somewhere hosted, how does this work ? If the cost is cheaper, I will consider doing so too. I live in Malta and electricity costs are not so cheap so other cheaper options are very welcome...

You find a hosting provider - send your miner / power supplies to them.  They keep them functional (providing power/cooling, power cycling them, etc).

You pay them a monthly fee based on how much power you use.

Some providers offer VPN access so that you can log in to your miner - otherwise you're at their mercy (meaning usually you have to email them for changes).

But in the end - its all about how cheap the power is for them.

So as an example a few users her at bitcointalk have hosting facilities (one in the US another in Canada).  I could send my miner to either of them.  With current exchange rates the Canadian host is a better deal (makes the electricity cost real low).  BUT it'll cost me more to ship it to him and there will be additional taxes when my item enters Canada.  So I have to take that into account and then you have to decide if you want a host who requires a contract or one who doesn't.

Lots of thought to go into something like that.

But in short - if you can find a host (who's well known and respected) who charges less than what you pay for electricity it *might* be a good idea for you.
