My suggestion would be like investing 75% in Ethereum and remaining 25% into NEO. Both crypto's are very good in terms of price rise and market cap but Ethereum is always the best when comes to price rise since it have recovered and sustaining its position now. NEO is a slow and steady price rise crypto and it takes some time to reach the highest price.
i prefer 2 ethereum for long term than neo. ethereum has good future clarity and great potential, we can make ethereum as a safe point rather than have a big risk for loss.

For me, I will prefer to hold both as the have potentials to yield profit and they are both stable, holding on a long term will yield huge profit for me as the market value rises. If asked to pick one, I will go for ethereum as it is more reliable, stable and safe

As for NEO, it can not reach the level of $ 1000 as there are a lot of strong competitors. Therefore, I do not consider this option at all.
However, the growth of x5-x10 from the current price is possible.

I think Neo better for much profit. Ethereum growed a lot already and have thousands ICOs. Neo more new coin and ICOs just started to launch on Neo.
If you want to buy ethereum look out for previous support abd set your buy orders there, that will be a spectacular entry for eth and buy the end of the year this same eth will give you big profits, it is just a mayter of finding better entry and selling points.
ETH and NEO are suitable for long-term hold. Both projects have working platforms and professional teams. I would buy both coins. Of course ETH is more popular, but its price is higher
I will choose Ethereum at any time. The use cases, ERC20, smart contracts, etc. all points towards a great long term investment.
I suggest racking in some STRAT as they are coming with huge technology from behind that outweighs Ethereum,NEO,DASH,XMR,ZEC!! On top of that it extremely cheap at the moment. You can buy it with around $5!! That is a bargain in comparation to the potential of the platform. This is my advice, you do what you want. 
I think I would go with NEO. It has immense potential. But so does ethereum. May be you should split your investment in both. Buy 1 Ethereum and some NEO. That would be better I guess.
Sharing between the two is better and surely can give definite advantage and besides it is true NEO is my favorite coin which now has got a good correction, it's a good time to buy that neo will go to moon and definitely no doubt eth will also be on the moon watch I write this cheers. As a long term investment neo could be a better option. Both coins will remain popular for many years, but neo development is a clearer and newer coin. Many people are now waiting for the rise of neo

before ethereum hits back to its all time high but I think you can split the investment and go 50-50 on both coins or more for neo and less on eth so as not to miss the opportunity when either breaks lose for a bull run.
I would buy Ethereum. You do want for a long time. This is a stable currency and it will bring you a stable income. But if you want more money then pay attention to the young currencies
