I expected more actually, but see all my wishes at odds with reality. How many times have talked about that bitcoin will go up with a very sharp pace, but see the dreams will not come true.

At the end of this year, I personally do not expect anything. Such a situation like today will stay stable in my opinion until the following year. Those predictions about 1k for 1btc not justified. And we have to wait for what will happen next.

It really all depends on who is winning and who is losing..I have made and lost bitcoin this year but am hoping that 2017 will be the year of bitcoin for me personally, so it all depends on what angle we look at it from and who is winning in that year.

So many great things coming soon to Bitcoin. We will have segregated witness in the mainnet soon, then it's all possible: sidechains, Lightning network, mimblewimble.. sky will be the limit. And Bitcache is coming soon when I hope is a success.

Every year that I ever lived with bitcoin was a "Bitcoin Year" to me.
Why don't we celebrate that bitcoin is still alive and kicking today and hope that it lives a thousand years more!

I guess this year shown BTC can move stably in a positive direction, There hasn't been a big bumps but was more consistent and moved almost continuously in a positive direction IMO. More stable rise and that may continue throughout the year and 2017 as well.

As we can see 2016 has not been the year of the Bitcoin because not much has really happened but the price rising a couple of times but that is it.
Maybe that the price can still rise with in 2016 because the year is not over so it can still happen.

The term "the year of Bitcoin" is for everyone different.

For you it might not be a fantastic year, while for other people it's a great year as they have seen the price go up considerably.

Either way, people's definition of what they consider to be the year of Bitcoin, is based on the price and how much profit they have made this year.

Well I guess some good adoptions are going to be considered for telling a year is going to be a year of bitcoin. And I think steam's acceptance of bitcoin is going to be already good to be considered to be a great year for bitcoin this year. But still there are more months to come and for sure a lot of good things with bitcoin is still going to happen that time.

Steam accepting Bitcoin was a pretty big thing, however I don't know if it had any sort of noticeable effect on the value at the time. I personally think that it's a cool thing and I've used it in the past and it works quite well in my opinion, so chances are I'll be using my Bitcoin to buy steam games a lot more in the future from now on.

It just raised the bitcoin price just a few percentage points at the news announcement. There is no long lasting effect.

Nothing comes easily in Bitcoin. But for me it definitely was a fantastic year, so yes, in that aspect it was indeed my "The Year Of Bitcoin".

Its still quite a good year to bitcoin because this year has the even of halving which the price of bitcoin somewhat increase from $400+ mark to $600 which is good to see on this year so we could somehow assume that 2017 would be also a good year but still it wont guarantee us because we dont know the future.

I hope we will see a developement like 2016 every year in the future. A plus of 50% is really nothing anybody can complain about.
And maybe 2017 will pass without any hacks, then I see the possibility that it will become even more profitable than 2016 was.
At least that are my hopes.
