Caleb Martin signed with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Miles Bridges stayed with the Charlotte Hornets for a 3 year, $75 million contract.

DeMar DeRozan is probably going to Sacramento King. The Chicago Bulls and Sacramento Kings have reached an agreement, and they are looking for a third team to finalize the deal.

I’m hearing a lot of rumors about the Kings getting players. Most recently Brandon Ingram was rumored to be heading to Sacramento. The Kings have definitely flipped the switch into desperation mode. Their star player (Fox) not wanting to sign an extension has showed them that their window to make a playoff run is about to close.

They already did, there are videos of the Kings owner and deRozan entering Golden 1 together. So the other team that's involved is San Antonio Spurs. The deal is three years, Harrison Barnes to the Spurs and Chris Duarte, and two second round picks and cash consideration.

@LogitechMouse it's like this for the Los Angeles Lakers:

❌ Paul George
❌ James Harden
❌ Jonas Valanciunas
❌ Chris Paul
❌ Klay Thompson
❌ Buddy Hield
❌ DeMar DeRozan

✅ Bronny

What is happening Rob Pelinka,  Grin

I think the one on that list that really hurts is Buddy Hield.  I've been saying for years that his game would go perfectly with LeBron.  The Lakers need a shooter like that so I was bummed they didn't at least get Klay.  LeBron does best when he has 3 point shooters to kick the ball out to while driving.  I feel like he hasn't been surrounded with good shooters since the bubble.

I guess enough for Bronny, we criticized him too much but let's give him a chance, maybe he'll make a miracle and will be able to be one of the starters, probably replacing Reaves. lol
Fans have criticized him a lot.

Whenever he's not yet on the NBA and playing college, many were already criticizing him. Now, that he's got drafted by his pop's team, he's still being criticized.

The same as his dad, people still criticizing and hating him. I hope that people would have love for the two as they're just doing what they do.

Stop the hate, the actual season hasn't even started yet

I understand where the hate is coming from. It is not because LeBron is his father, but because he is not deserving to be in the NBA based on his statistics in college, just like Thanasis being hated by some fans because he was on a team where he literally did nothing, LOL.

I think we should not take this seriously though. They hate him in real life, but on his life as a basketball player. Without those kinds of hate and love in basketball, this league wouldn't be fun, just saying.

After having good trade by getting Hachimura, now a series of missed players are happening with the LA.

I don't know the main reason, but it's either they don't want to feel the pressure around the LA Laker fans like what happened with Russell Westbrook back when he was still there, or getting Bronny sends a negative impact towards these players hence, they don't want to be with the Lakers anymore. TBH, drafting Bronny wasn't a good decision at all, but Rob Pelinka isn't the GM of the Lakers, but it's LeBron, right? Cheesy

That's the pressure when your dad is one of the greatest of all time in the largest basketball league around the world.

I don't hate him personally, but you can't take the fact that there will always be people out there that will hate him for multiple reasons. Also, take note that the LA Laker fans already hated Le-GM because of how manipulative he is, and how he acts like he's the GM of the Lakers organization. That hate will also be passed to his son and it's happening already. What Bronny can do is to just ignore what others are saying and focus on his development. That's his only way of shutting down these haters.

I have no hate for his son, but I have a bit of hate towards Le-GM because of how he uses his powers to make things favorable to him.

Yes guys it's a done deal. The Kings just got scarier.

Kings acquire DeMar DeRozan in three-team sign-and-trade with Bulls, Spurs

Quote
Kings receive: DeMar DeRozan
Bulls receive: Chris Duarte, two second-round picks, cash
Spurs receive: Harrison Barnes, 2031 unprotected pick swap with the King
https://www.nbcsports.com/nba/news/kings-acquire-demar-derozan-in-three-team-sign-and-trade-with-bulls-spurs

Barnes on the other hand can give support for the star Rookie in Spurs. He and CP3 will do great being a veteran of the league and passing their knowledge to him.

Back to DeRozan. It's scary because now they have two of the best perimeter players in the league. Fox and him. The floor spacing will be wider and both can also attack the paint if they want to. Sabonis, DeMar, Fox, Monk, and Keegan. I am getting goosebumps. We will see a lot of fast-break plays on these agile guys.
Now, they need to strengthen their 2nd team.

Losing Harrison Barnes and gaining a mid 30s derozen doesn't move the needle much.  I love derozen amd think is health and ability to stay on the court is great he will be on the down trend.  Nobody gets better after theor mid 30s.  They had to do it but come playoffs I don't see them as anymore dangerous as they are now.

I thought LaMelo and Wemby would be busts though, so I’m not commenting on Bronny’s future.
Those two guys were drafter high for a reason as they were promising, while we know what would have happened with Bronny if LeBron wasn't his father so I think its safe to assume that he will be bust and will play in the NBA as long as his father is in, so something like Thanasis. Anything else would be a miracle.

There's nothing huge expectation that Bronny would perform better since at first place he didn't get drafted at higher place.

Also his stats is pretty bad that's why lots of team avoid to get him. If there are few showing an interest then provably they are just luring Lebron to join their team. So provably that Bronny will just be a bench warmer then get few minutes in court just for marketing.

LBJ maybe just hope that Bronny could learn something on Lakers but if he totally became another Thanasis like then provably he's career will end up early especially that Lebron is going to retire soon.

Sad to say that he serves his purpose, I mean for now he's for marketing and to keep LeBron but in terms of his future inside the league, it's more on how he will perform and how the coaching staff will allow him to play, he can stand up and co-exist with all the stars if he keeps improves his game, not a quick conclusion but he can only defend himself by proving that he deserves that spot.

And same with what you mentioned, if he don't meet that expectation might be possible that his career might be like Thanasis, else, he can create his own name and compete with all the best players inside the league.

Bronny just got drafted because of the popularity of his father, other than that, we can't expect him to contribute to the team significantly.

In other news, rumour is that Nuggets signed my countryman Saric to a 2 years $10.6M deal. Imho, not a bad deal for both parties involved and if he can stay healthy it will be a bargain deal for Nuggets. I personally would like him to come back to Europe as Panathinaikos showed some serious interest but I guess he wanted it to give one more shot and maybe even win the title.
Saric hasn't had a big impact with the Warriors, I don't know why they didn't use him much but if he'll be with the Nuggets, that would be another good addition so they could  give Jokic more time to rest in a game if necessary.

Great deal for the Kings as they need someone who have the experience in the playoffs to help their main player lead the team. DeRozan has been great but hasn't been a team that are a championship team, so I guess hopefully he found the right place now. I thought they are for real with the Bulls, but yo know, injuries on the stars doesn't seemed to help a lot. This is just a great move although Barnes has been a huge help for th team but he ain't getting any younger, so getting rid of him though a trade is good.

For sure this won't happen if they trade Zach LaVine. The Bulls are still trying to bargain for LaVine, but no team wants him because he is injury prone. If the Bulls stick with Zach LaVine, they will definitely not make the playoffs again.

They have no choice though, Zach Lavine is now their main player just like before, but when he got injured, a lot of players had stepped up, so let's see how the Bulls are gonna play in the coming season.

Bronny James made his debut today. Probably not the outing he was hoping for. 2-9 shooting with 4 points and 2 rebounds. There’s also a clip going around on social media of him slipping on defense. He did have a nice move for a bucket at one point too. I thought LaMelo and Wemby would be busts though, so I’m not commenting on Bronny’s future.

Caleb Martin signed with the Philadelphia 76ers.
After that amazing playoff performance coming from him 2 seasons ago, he didn't play that well all throughout the regular season and during the last playoffs as well. It's good though that Coach Spo developed him to become a decent player. A good addition to the bench of the Sixers, and he's shooting a decent 36% from three as well. I think that with his 4-year $32M contract, he's a bit overpaid if you will ask me.

Miles Bridges stayed with the Charlotte Hornets for a 3 year, $75 million contract.
No surprise about it.
No team wants him, or at least no other team has shown any interest in him this off-season.

Another lost superstar for the Lakers. Cheesy

They lost Harden and Thompson and didn't sign Valanciunas to help AD defend the paint. Now they're on the verge of losing DeMar as well. With this trade that will happen, the Kings are now better. Fox can now focus more on passing the ball since he has DeRozan as a reliable shooter already, and they have the double-double machine in Sabonis. While they became better, my expectations towards them when it comes to playoff is still low.

@jossiel - yes, it's not only the Warriors that are actively pursuing Lauren, but if you look at it, perhaps this is a one chance opportunity for him to be on a contender team that can win a ring for him.
Yeah, he should take that deal regardless if he wants to have some change although he's currently in a good team he needs more firepower from his teammates.

Just in, Franz Wagner agrees to a 5-year $224M deal rookie extension. He's so close to the salary of other stars.  Shocked

Sources: Magic, Franz Wagner agree on $224M rookie extension

He deserves this kind of huge salary as he is the second man on the team after Banchero. As for Banchero, he will only become a free agent in 2027. He might get a bigger contract then, probably again the biggest in history. I see this as similar to the Celtics' situation where Brown signed a huge contract, and after that, when Tatum's contract expired, he also signed a whopping $313,933,410 for five years. I hope Banchero will be able to keep himself healthy, as that's all he needs to secure a max extension with the Magic.

Both Banchero and Wagner deserves that money as we see them playing last season, they just need to keep themselves healthy and surely Magic managements will keep them and offer them decent amount of money, for now, they need to keep the team being contender again and hopefully the management will find the rights sets of players that will help them for their campaign,

for now, securing Wagner is the good move for the managements knowing the value of Wagner and what he can provide for the future of the team will allow them keep him improving his game.

It would definitely be a big boost to their lineup if they could get a big man who can also shoot from outside. Lopez has already won a championship, so we can say he has high confidence as a player. Additionally, he is not injury-prone, so he would really help give Davis some relief and help prevent Davis from getting injured easily. It will not be Jokic vs. Davis because Brook Lopez could guard Jokic while Davis could be the second defender. So, I think it's a great decision if they can acquire him, and yes I agree that they'll be a championship team once again.

It seems to me that the Lakers will have to trade away some players like Russell, Reaves, or Hachimura. However, if the Lakers can sign Lopez and DeRozan while keeping Davis and LeBron healthy for next season, they will definitely be a team that can contend for a title, at least on paper.

If I'm not mistaken, yeah, D'Lo, Reaves and Hachimura are amongst the name that the Lakers are using for trade bait to either get Lopez and DeRozan. They really need a solid center as we all know that Davis doesn't want to be the center for them but play a power forward which really define his game. For the Warriors, they are still very interested on getting Markkanen but it will not be cheap at it will cost them future picks if they still have and perhaps Andrew Wiggins.

They already have Melton, Anderson and now targeting Lauri. So just imagine if they successfully gotten him from the Jazz and then losing Wiggins + future picks. So I think that is a good enough bargain for them, but the question remains if the Jazz management is willing to let go of Lauri.

I think Davis and LeBron are the only 2 players on the Lakers that are not on the trading block, everyone else they would let go of in a minute if they can get the right player. I don't see the Lakers really doing much though as far as landing a big name this year. They just resigned Lebron to a 2 year deal for max money and are probably going to look at running it back and see if Davis and Lebron stay healthy.
