People are making a big deal out of Stephen Curry taking the Warriors out of his Instagram bio today and replacing it with Olympic Champion.  While I think this probably is just showing his joy in his recent accomplishment, people are speculating that it means Steph could be on his way out of Golden State.  We'll see.  I would love to see him team up with LeBron in Los Angeles, but I don't really see that happening either.  Still, something to be aware of I guess.
C'mon, they are taking it way seriously. He is just proud to be a world champion, that's it. I mean, that's the real-world champion, in my own opinion.
They played very well and they almost even lost against countries with strong rosters. Serbia almost got them but thanks to their resilience especially on the defensive end, they found their way back to win that match.

Who will not be proud of all that hardship and effort they did? It's for their country and that's greatness.
Fans will always make an issue of all the things they see on social media, it has become a norm these days. Grin

That's exactly it.  Amd it's not like he is a free agent anyway golden state would have to trade him.  I can see them going for it one more year but in the end they might want to part ways with steph to get a package of picks back eventually they will need to start the inevitable rebuild.  Let stwph go where he wants to go as a thank you and you get assets back.  Just not this year.

He adjusted with his salary to give that some to Bronny and I think that next year might be the same when Bryce is about to get drafted or he'd get no adjustment as he gets 2 seasons for it unless there are some clause that can be adjusted.

What makes you think Lebron adjusted his salary? Looking at his contract, I wouldn't say he adjusted anything because he will get $48 million for the upcoming season, and he can get another $52 million for the 25/26 season. While Bronny will earn only $1 million for his first season in the NBA. I think it's not a big deal for the Lakers, considering that their salary cap for next season is $140 million.

It was in the news, Lebron receieved a lower salary than expected if he didn't allow to cut his salary.

LeBron James said he wanted to give the Lakers something back by taking close to $3 million less in his deal to keep the team from the salary cap’s second apron.
So that close to $3 million could be use to sign role players to help the roster improve. Might not be much but it's already a good amount of money to hire couple of players.
Thanks maslate for answering him.  Smiley

Lebron did really adjusted to give way to his son to have that $7.9M of contract as a rookie. Very few rookies receive that kind of salary except those starting five and first pick rounders.

Not that much but yeah that's good enough to bring role players to help them though might be a practice player or to make sure that Bronny will stay, kidding aside, with the new coaching staff it might bring new sets of system that they'll be going to use to bring something for the fans, though their current squad might not that deep compared to the teams inside West division but for sure they will make an impact and might surprise the fans.

It is because that's already a content for those sports pages and publications that follow these players like Steph Curry. It's so easy to make stories out of these actions that they do. One story that I have read is that the stint that they have during the Olympics with Lebron James is carried until now and that's what Steph is planning to do.

People should be aware that Steph has a contract until 2025-2026 for the Warriors and it's been said that if there's one team that he'll play after he gets out of the Warriors, it is with the Charlotte Hornets just because of his curiosity but still he haven't thought about getting out of the team. He's a franchise player and I think that if he really wants out of the Warriors, we'd see that anytime soon. But these articles and coverages, they're just adding spice to the story for engagement.

Even retired and current basketball players who have their podcast will have to reinvent themselves and get players to be interviewed and then somewhat put some words into their mouths, and so yes, I do agree that this is just for clout and for clicks and viewership.
I remember that Cousins and Dwight Howard did have their podcast and talked shit about politics in the league. The teams don't want them anymore although they can still play but the younger calibers won't be easy to them. They could be right but they could also be wrong.

I do not thing that Steph will go out of the Warriors until he retires, he is the face of GSW until he retires, and he will still be chasing for the 5th crown to be the decades team and still continue their dynasty and it will be sweet without Klay Thompson. And if he accomplished it, then he will be one of the best player not just shooter in the last ten years or so.
While Klay is out of the Dub Nation, he remains to be the face of the team. I agree that he might not get out of retirement and just want to make an history for himself as one of the players in the NBA that never got out of their franchise until they have retired.

Fans will always make an issue out of everything that's on the social media, and for me, that's very toxic attitude, but that's how social media is right now.
Do you think that fans are just overthinking just because of what Steph did on his bio?

First, it's Lebron changing his profile picture with him, Steph and KD in one photo, and many said that there's a chance that all three of them will make a super team. Now Steph changing his bio is an issue again. Cheesy Like what you think, I also believe that he's just happy with his new achievement, but once the regular season starts, he will just change it to what's normal. As for Lebron and Steph playing together, I already said that their contract is just too much for either Golden State or Los Angeles, and there's a chance that they will be moving to the 2nd apron of the new CBA if both of them join together.

There's a way though for both of them to be on the same team. Both of them joining into a team that has a very huge cap space, or if both of them will take huge pay cut just to be with other star players because I don't think that both of them alone can carry a team without any good role players at all.

Yeah, probably that is the case, he was really happy to get his first Olympic gold medal and his performance could be one of the best we have seen from the USA team since Dream Team. And we all know how social media this days, but for regular basketball fans this is nothing.
It was his first time, and he won a gold medal. Not only that, but he was also the hero of that game, so it’s really special for him even though he wasn’t recognized as the MVP. I doubt Curry would leave the Warriors. Why would he join LeBron with the Lakers? Why not just bring LeBron to the Warriors? Curry should establish himself as the one worth joining at his current status, not the other way around.

As for Lonzo Ball, glad that he is back playing 5x5 and hopefully it can translate to him getting back in the NBA for good and hopefully there will be no injuries for him as the next one could really be career ending, just saying.
He is talented, and we can’t deny that, but his history of injuries scares me, as it raises the risk of it happening again. Of course, we don’t want to see that, but there’s already a risk, and he could be considered among the injury-prone players now.

Rich Paul saying the reason we don’t have LeBron James and Stephen Curry playing together on the Warriors is because he was worried about LeBron’s legacy if he switches teams again. At this point, the only thing that matters to me about his legacy is how many rings he ends up with. I say join Steph and chase those rings.

https://x.com/legionhoops/status/1825259446630850960
I don't even think that Lebron has got a lot of years left to the league, maybe 2-3 years remaining as he'll just going after the record of playing with his sons.

But it's still going to hit different if he'll able to chase a ring or two.

3 years might be pushing it.  I mean who knows but them legs has tons of miles on them.  I'd think the same that at this point lebron is probably more interested in playing with bronny than teaming up and chasing after another ring on another team.  For him it's likely Lakers or bust.  I don't see the Lakers competing with that squad but we shall see.

LeBron's current contract with the Lakers is only for 2 seasons, and the last season is a player option. Imho, I don't really believe that LeBron will be able to win at least one more ring with the Lakers during this time, because the Lakers clearly don't have a roster that can be called strong and title contenders.
You're right.

He's chasing history now instead of more rings. Got Olympic medals, get to play with his son and next year with probable 2 sons.

I just posted yesterday about JT Thor from South Sudan who signed another contract but this time with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Then I'm talking about Yabusele who might also sign a contract and it actually happened just today. His contract is only for $2 million, and while some people think that’s small, I think it’s reasonable because I believe Yabusele isn’t in it for the money but rather to play in the NBA. It's similar to Tony Snell, who wants to return to the NBA to have access to better medical benefits for his children.
International competition like Olympics, FIBA and etc. really is helping these players to get signed. JT Thor is a good choice for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
But just as what others are speculating about Yabusele, both of them might not get a lot of playing time for their respective teams. It will matter to them but that's already a step up on their game and each playing time they get should be worth it for them and do their best to show how good they are.
Well, what's important now is that, they both have contracts and they will have a lesser playing time obviously, but before the Olympics, they have been role players for their respective teams. Yabusele for me can be a good player for the 2nd unit. I mean he can deliver at least 5 PPG in 10 or lesser minutes of playing time, and that's a good thing already. As for JT Thor, he's a forward/center so getting rebounds for the Cavaliers might be a good thing despite them having 2 bigs (Mobley and Allen).
Yeah, they're both getting contracts and that is guaranteed money for them. And every time that they'll be given some playing time, some points and good performances could prolong their stay in the NBA. But that won't matter if they're not satisfied with their stay there and even given some extensions or renewal contracts, they still have a place to go back if they ever want to. I've seen players that chosen the latter and went back to their respective home towns to play the basketball they like.

Here is some footage of Lonzo Ball getting ready for the upcoming season playing some 5 on 5 games. It looks like he’s going to prove some people wrong and get himself back on the court. I’m happy for him. You can tell he has had to struggle through a lot with his knees in order to get back to where he is today.

https://x.com/thedunkcentral/status/1826023361040032164
Playing a pick up game (even if 5v5) doesn't mean anything for NBA at all, it's not the same thing and that video doesn't mean that he is ready. One of the replies says "is he capable of defending? Running to the rim? Dunk?" and that's the most important part. If he is able to run and so forth that's good, it's improvement on what he had, but it still doesn't mean that he is ready for NBA games yet, and doesn't mean that he will ever be ready for it. He had a freak injury, and his knee had to be filled with new cartilage or whatever that is called, seems like he will be back but not going to be his old self at all.

To be fair if Shaun Livingston came back, probably anyone can come back from any injury and I wouldn't be shocked, but I am not expecting him to be good at all, he will be probably a max 15-20 minute player and not back to back right away. He feels like a good back up PG from here on out, for a while longer and then retire which is sad because he had so much potential.

Yeah that livingston leg injury was brutal.  Was touch and go for a bit amd dude made it back to the NBA amd had an effect on the game which says a lot about his personal resolve.  But in terms of time on the court yeah I can't see him being more than a 15 minute a guy who runs around 4-5 minutes a clip.  It is a shame knees wreck nba careers.

.But for sure Lebron could able to play for more years but I think at 42 I think its to much maybe Lebron should consider to retire since we don't know what will happen to him at that time. I guess he have 2 years left in the bag and there's nothing to prove anymore. He already sealed his legacy and his dream to play together with Bronny already happen in Lakers now. So what I really think that Lebron is now thinking to have a graceful retirement especially he already achieve a lot of things in his career.
LeBron is on a mission, and for him, age is just a number. At 40, he won the MVP in the Olympics—that’s a big achievement for him. I think he truly has a case when discussing the GOAT in the NBA. In terms of numbers, stats, and achievements, LeBron is probably in the top 3, if not the GOAT already. As he continues to play, he will keep adding to his success as an NBA player.

LeBron is still playing like a star, if not the number one player, then certainly in the top 10. As he’s gotten older, his maturity has helped him break records, but winning another championship with the current team seems unlikely. I’m curious if he’ll join other stars when his contract with the Lakers is over. There’s only one thing I’d like for him: to return to Cleveland, his first team, and retire there since the Lakers already have so many greats.

I agree that I don’t think LeBron will win another chip. He’d have to take a massive pay cut and join a contender. I don’t really see that happening, but maybe. I’d love to see him pair up with an elite shooter like Steph though. I think if they did link up, maybe in 2 years, they would still be the best 1 2 combo in the league.

If Davis can be consistently dominant then they might have a chance since they still have some good ball rotation and attack capability even with Bron slightly decreased his dominant performance.

Davis always their weakness since he keeps playing low after a dominant game from him probably due to the fatigue and strain with his huge frame. He don’t ask for ball often when he is playing low which is the main weakness of Lakers since they are relying heavily on Davis D and attack on paint.

It's worth noting that the performance of these two guys was impressive during the Olympics. So yeah, it would be interesting to see them on the same team during the regular season. But unfortunately, it probably won't happen because LeBron will be 42 years old by the time his current contract with the Lakers expires.

As long as LeBron can still play, it might happen. LeBron needs a teammate who can carry the team, but in the end, the credit will go to him as he wins the MVP (just kidding). Seriously, LeBron can still play at age 42 because he knows how to take care of his body, and his basketball IQ is very impressive. Having Curry, who is known to be a clutch player, would make it easier for LeBron to win another championship.

He's the main man in the team so for sure all credit will go to his name especially if he can provide solid contribution to the team. That's why many stars avoid to pair up with him since they don't want to be blame once there's something wrong with their team and they cannot get good credits if they win.
