Many of us are impressed with the Bulls' performance this season. Regarding DeRozan and LaVine, both have great stats. However, I agree with Yogee that they won't have a chance to compete with Curry and Durant for the MVP title of the regular season. Curry looks unstoppable, and I think he will be MVP this season imho.

I think it's early to conclude this discussion, especially we are not yet passing the NBA All-star week 2022. anything can happen next year but if Klay Thompson will further boost Curry's performance then you can say try again next time to the other candidate because they won't have a chance at all. Stephen Curry has once again become the all-time favorite this year as you can see there are lots of fans on the court when they play just to see him shoot those stunning threes.

Judging on how Curry has been performing early this season, everyone can say that he's the top MVP candidate obviously.
He's unarguably the best shooter of all time, that alone can be enough to tell he's an MVP caliber player.
Though there were a bunch of good players in the NBA today especially the young guns, but as you said Curry has been great once again.
He had an early momentum most probably he will finish the way he started the season.

After a day of thanksgiving break, there will be 12 games on the line. Wow!  Shocked
Curry will be facing Dame. This will be fun to watch with the battle of speed and mostly outside shooting plays. Dame will have CJ and Powell as his wingmen and Curry will have Poole and Wiggins.
GSW needs to be alert with Nurkic too as that guy will shoot some 3's if ever he is free. Looney or Draymond cannot sleep on him on screen and roll plays.

Lavine and DeRozan are currently in the top 6 and 7 respectively in the PPG ranking this season.

What do you think are their chances of winning the MVP?
Will one of them beat the top 3 now (Curry, Durant, and Giannis)?

I like to hear some thoughts since the Bulls are really surprising me this season, I'm sure not only me.  Smiley
Its a big surprise that the Bulls are right now at the top after not entering the playoffs last season.
Lavine and DeRozan played better this season compare to last season but I think that they have a low chance of winning the MVP this season.

We know who is the top pick for MVP right now and its Curry. Maybe if Curry gets injured (hope not) then these 2 have a shot of winning it but right now, my and some others' pick here is Curry. The Curry that we are seeing right now is almost the same as the Curry way back in 2014-2015 and the difference is that, he has more help from other players compare to that time. Still he is my pick right now but too early since we are nowhere the half of the season.

Exactly, it's too early to conclude, the race is still on and DeRozan and Lavine are really doing well with how they are making their team successful. Both teams have a co-star, Durant has Harden, and Curry has Thompson (soon).. but with Thompson's being limited, then most likely Curry would have most of the contribution that and that will his stats looks good.

It's a big surprise indeed. I mean, you cannot expect that much chemistry with a roster that has new players being injected. The same with the Wizards shockingly being on the top of the East last week.
About MVP run, this is kind of in the unpredictable discussions. Durant is doing great putting the Nets offense in his shoulders and there is still Jokic and Doncic that should be considered. One health and safety protocol could make the top players miss a lot of games and the others on the top 4 below could surpass them easily.
I can't decide who will win this but if injuries/covid are set aside, it could be Curry. He is in the zone.

Yes, if GSW will continue it's winning streak and Curry getting his second straight scoring title maybe we can see a unanimous votes for him as MVP. But as you have said, Doncic's magic is still there and we all know that in the beginning, he was the odds favorite to win the MVP. Last year we didn't see Jokic winning until after the All-Star Break if I'm not mistaken. So I guess it is still open but Curry by far is above the rest right now. Being the top seed though doesn't mean a thing in the MvP race.

To be honest, if Steph was able to bring GSW to the playoffs last season he would have gotten that season MVP award but Jokic outshined Curry since Curry wasn't able to play several games as he injured his tailbone. If Steph and the GSW stay consistent and perform with such great ball movement and defense then we'll definitely see a better GSW and a better Steph this season compared to all of their active seasons.

And I think they are the best combo right now. But wait till Klay Thompson is back in GSW, for sure, him and Curry will be back on top as splash brothers.

Well they really need to bring the Bulls to the top of the East just to get either names to be in the discussions of MVP this season. And with Luka back in the Mavericks uniform, it will be a tight race for this year. So I would say that they have a chance, but they really need to perform and bring the Bulls as the top seed.

We should use the term "rank" instead of the "top".

While Rank 6 Lavigne and Rank 7 DeRozan are continuously improving their stats, those who are in the above ranks are also doing the same. It's difficult to catch up at those above ranks as they are more consistent every game. I think no chance for LaVine and DeRozan to beat those on the above ranks.

The only way they can manage to get through is if those tops will be sidelined for long like minor to major injuries (cross-fingers that won't happen).

MVP usually goes to the more popular and marketable players so I don't see those two winning the MVP this season. It will most likely go to Curry or KD if none of them will be injured. Voting is supposed to be based on individual stats but some players in the past have not won despite their superior numbers.

Compare this two lakers giants I can say that Dwight is more valuable on their line up knowing that he give some good contribution to his team and I also think that he deserve to be starting center since this could give them more chances to win, But maybe they have plans for play offs so maybe lets just see on how their rotation goes.

Also its good to see a classic lebron showing some good show and put up a heavy performance today hopefully he can sustain it so that we can see lakers in play offs since its boring to see a play off without lebron.
It is not about which one of the centers is playing better or worse, it is about which one applies to Davis a lot more. So, let's assume that you have Howard and Davis on the floor and their combined stats or the plus minus together is worse than when DJ and Davis on the floor, would you keep Howard just because he is individually better? This is why coaches take a look at the whole 5 together being better and suit each other, not the individual achievements.

Even Steph could be benched if he is not rolling correctly with some players, which I doubt it because he can suit anyone in the world but you understand what I mean by suiting each other. Yes Howard is definitely better than DJ but he is individually better, when it comes to team playing he is not as good and that is why he gets less minutes each game and even with good stats he is not getting more playing time.

Klay can easily adopt and adjust. Remember when KD transferred to them, he gave the offense to KD and focus on his defense.

he's a deadly shooter which is always capable of hitting his shot while working more with stopping any stars from the opposing team.

The very best from Klay is just like having Pippen beside you. If the team needed him to score, he was just there to provide. It's very good news for everyone, especially to all the Dub fans. Looking forward to how many wins will be added to GSW after Klay's arrival.

Completely agree with this sentiment.

Klay will have absolutely no trouble adjusting to the team. He can play off-ball and isn't ball dominant like Kyrie or Harden.

In fact, his very best performances came without a lot of dribbles... As I'm sure a lot of people know.

We don't need to talk about Thompson's might not able to have good chemistry with the team because the Warriors never had a problem with chemistry. This team is a real definition of teamwork, they all work based on their rules and they produce effectively, so my only concern now is if he is able to get back to his old self, that's it.

Are you guys excited to see Klay playing again? Well, if you are here's the latest update and we might see him soon back in the court, the number 1 in the NBA now will get back one of the best shooters in the NBA.

Klay Thompson has been cleared to be a full participant in all Warriors practices.
He isctrending toward return within week of Christmas.
Before Christmas, around Christmas week, or even after it, I am so excited about how much the impact will it be when they insert him back to the rotation.
Iggy had been missing games and they need one more guy who is strong on both defense and offensive end. Klay is that guy.
Some may even say it will be unfair when GSW is already doing good and if with the added Klay Thompson it will be like an edited NBA console game.  Grin
The game against the 76ers is one of the best example of it. Trailing by 20 points and turning it around winning by 20 points. That's crazy.

They've been doing that though, turning a big deficit and coming in the 3rd and 4th quarter to score 30+ points and then have a double digit win.

Yes, it was reported that Klay will be around Christmas or next year January. So for sure everyone is going to watch his first game and wanted to see an old catch and shoot, and the other part of the splash brothers. I think Iggy is on the limited minutes that's why he is missing some games. Nevertheless, they kept on winning so Iggy can take all the rest he wants.

You can see the way they play right now, they are not like they used to be when they were won the Championship. They are against the Pacers today which is not that competitive but they still struggling.

I thought the Pacers will win tonight's game because the Lakers are obviously struggling and with the absence of Anthony Davis, that makes things worst.

The Pacers are always on lead the whole game and the Lakers just got their first lead on 4-minute mark 4Q courtest of Malik Monk. They make again another rally like what they did in their 2 previous games and this time, the result is a win. Lebron James with a big 39 points and Westbrook added 20. But the one I noticed is that, Coach Vogel gave chance to Malik Monk and Wayne Ellington to showcase what they got. Good thing that someone from the bench stepped up.

Yes, it's a huge win by the Lakers starring Lebron James, and there are a lot of Lakers who really step up their game on this one.

Monk - 17 points
Anthony - 14 points
Ellington - 14 points
Howard - 9 rebounds

And almost everyone really scored in this game, although it is another close one for the Lakers, they have to go to OT to secure their victory.
Well, it might be the start of their better performance don't they?
Just let Lebron their go-to guy and just support him.

Good thing is that they have made some adjustments at least by giving more time to play those bench players. The only problem that I see is that, Lebron played 43 minutes on that game. Can he sustain to play that much time when we know that he is 36 turning 37 already? Well, a win is a win for the Lakers but they need to sustain how they played tonight or have a better performance as a whole team.

The Chicago Bulls who played well at the start of the season lost to the Pacers by a huge margin and then lost to the Houston Rockets who is at the bottom right now. What can you say about that? A bad night probably Smiley. On the other hand, the Warriors who are having a deficit of double digits at the first half dominated the second half and defeated the Sixers by 20. The Phoenix Suns also continued their winning streak and now it is at 14 after defeating the Hornets Cheesy.

Honestly it was a very mediocre win.  Pacers are decent but the Lakers looked lost at times playing against them.  Lebron came up big but he can't be counted on to drag this team to the finish line by himself.  Someone else besides AD or Bron needs to step up if they want a fighting chance.
