Cool. That will be the best ever experience for LeBron James.
He is now at the 3rd rank of All-time scoring leaders (35,367) and above him is Karl Malone (36,928). At the top is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387).
Lebron just lacks 3,520 + 1 more point to achieve it. Do you guys think he can manage that amount? He stopped being an offensive guy (points) and most of the time he finishes in double-double or triple double. His stats are now stretched because he became the facilitator of the Lakers.

I guess Lebron will be able to break this record. However, it's worth noting that his contact with the Lakers will end after the 22/23 season. So he will need to score at least 22 points on an average per game during the next two seasons. It will be hard if he is injured again.

Lebron can do that, he can dictate what he likes to happen in the team because he is the captain of this team. At his age, he can make at least 20 ppg per game and still earn a decent contract once it expires, the injury of Lebron last season was not that serious as he was able to come back strong, the problem was Davis because he was already inconsistent last season and it added a big problem when he was injured in the first round of the series against the Suns.

Looks like John Wall and the Rockets are done. The Rockets announced they’re looking for a trade for him to find a new team. Announcing this publicly seems like a desperation move. Something must have happened for them to want to publicly beg for a trade like that. Maybe they’re hoping to get in on the Ben Simmons sweepstakes too.

I think there's a problem inside, it's not the players. Harden left the team because he doesn't feel playing with the team anymore, probably a problem in the management of the team, now John Wall will be traded, I guess many teams will go after him, and if the 76ers will trade Ben Simmons for Wall, I guess they are in the winning situation as they will get a good PG that could help the team to be more efficient.

Huge possiblity that LeBron can break that record If he continues to play till his 40 or even 39. He only needs to average 10+ ppg.
LeBron can still score 20+ ppg, but with the current Lakers roster, he might not be able to score that much as most of the Laker acquisition this year is an offensive threat.
However, LeBron can do more triple doubles with a team who has a higher consistency scoring rate and he needs to be active on grabbing the rebounds as well.

Ben Simmons is going to be playing game 1 with the sixers book it.
I hope somebody leaks a locker room video if this happens. That could be interesting and fun to watch.

If I am the 76ers management I'll take that deal with Fox. Damn, that kid has some skills already and a lot of room for improvement.
Fox is more than enough if Kings will push this trade, that kid really has a good future.

Pairing him with Embiid with the same minutes and same quality time that Sixers gave to Simmons,
we might expect them to be more competitive this coming season..
Sorry for my ignorance but I don't know how Fox really plays. Is he another pass to an open guy first type of player? He could make Embiid shine while helping in carrying the team if that's the case. It should be a good deal for the Sixers.

Fox is a speed demon who can put up a lot of points. He’s sort of like a more team oriented Westbrook.

One more team on that rumors is Washington Wizards for Bradley Beal. Wait, Is Washington a small market team?
No way, Beal is more valuable Wizard will lose a lot, pairing Simmon to another inconsistent player like Kuzma, no offense

but it's a lost for Wizard if they will acquire Simmons for Beal.

Cavaliers are also pursuing the deal and won't keep their eyes shut until the end of it.
Who knows if Some behind the doors deal may take place..

It seems like there's a lot of offers already but Daryl Morey cannot find that sweet deal that will be rewarding for the 76ers short-term and long-term.
The fate of Simmons is in the hands of Morey, till he finds the sweet deals that he's looking, else, we will see a bench Simmons this upcoming season.

I'm hearing rumors that a team is close to making a deal for Ben Simmons.  I think it may be the Sacramento Kings, but that's just a guess based on the description of it being a small market team and Ben Simmons saying he wanted to play in California.  It would be terrible if the Kings had to give up Fox to get him, but it seems like Fox might want out and if that's the case then it would be good to get a guy in return who wants to be there.  I think in the next 2 weeks we'll be hearing an announcement of a trade.

Quite an uneventful event the last few days for NBA transfers don't you agree? I'm tired of Ben Simmons saga so who else are you expecting to be traded or waived other than Marc Gasol? Anything on the free agents or returning former NBA players? I checked on at least three sites but nothing new came up.

Yes, only the Ben Simmons saga remains in the trade calendar, but nothing happens so far.

Perhaps team have settled down for now, maybe just a couple of minor trades here and there to make any team even better. But most of the star players is down their new old and new teams. The Ben Simmons drama has been discussed over and over and the only thing we can do now it wait for it.

I think the trade deadline is not near yet, so there's still more time, however, it would be fair for Simmons if he will be traded before the season will start so they don't have to sit him while they are still looking for a team that could potentially accept Simmons for their demand. This kid has some real talent, he just belong to the wrong squad, if he still messed up in a new team, then maybe we can conclude he really has a big problem.
Its been weeks since he has been the headline of every sports article because of his performance but still, no team wants to get him or at least I can say that there are no equal deals that are happening between the 76ers and other teams but one thing is for sure - that Simmons wants to get our of Philly and at the same time the fans don't want him as well.

I agree though with what you said that Simmons got some skills and we already saw it and the kid is also an all-star. Its just that his shooting skills aren't that good and with his position as a PG, that is not good. If he is a Center or a Power Forward then you might consider it but being a PG, you really will get criticisms like what the people did to him. I just hope that in the next team that he will play with, he can at least train more there especially his shooting skills.

Winding down.
September 14, 2021, 06:11:06 AM
teams have settled down and be ready for the upcoming season. And Ben trade rumour could still be just heating up. I'm still speculating that Ben will be traded though before the start of full season.

In any case, if someone is interested on the outright NBA champions here are the odds from sportsbet:

It is quite wide open to win a big odd championship with these. Considering the odds are high for all the other teams, I would say throwing in equal pays to Bucks, Warriors, Clippers, Nuggets all could be a great deal. Don't get me wrong I am not saying that Lakers or Nets will not be champions, it is obvious that one of them will likely be the champions but if we have an injured player in those teams then anything could happen.

We are considering these two to win the league because they are healthy and good on paper, but Lakers didn't suck last season neither, they were a good team yet they got injured and had a horrible ending to the season. Which is why I believe that we should definitely see that potential from both teams again and maybe throw in some small amount to other teams as well.

I love the Lakers' odds to win the championship. IMO, next season will only be the battle of the Lakers and Nets, sorry for the Bucks fans but it's hard to accept the reality that Bucks would not advance in the NBA Finals if the Nets were healthy, so I will not bet on them next season.

Anything on the free agents or returning former NBA players? I checked on at least three sites but nothing new came up.

It normally quiets down around now.  Teams have been solidified for the next year.  Camp starts up soon.  You won't see much trades until mid season before the trade deadline.  A couple moves here and there but nothing big.  Ben Simmons is going to be playing game 1 with the sixers book it.

He has no choice but to play if the coach will tell him to play, but my question of concern here is, can he still produce the same numbers in the past, and can we still see the hunger inside of him that he wants to win? I mean, he was badly criticized, so it could possibly affect him and it will result in his performance of the game.

He's a professional he should be able to take this in stride.  Knowing how media always blows things way out of proportion, good chance this is a squashed by the beginning of the season.  With that being said the Bucks at 9.5 odds to win another championship is a good punt.

Yeah, I like the odds for the Bucks, they are the defending champion and at 9.5 odds, that's very attractive indeed specially if we are going to bet on them at the beginning.

I don't know, but sometimes this Ben saga has been dragging and it grow tired on me. I'm just gonna wait and not speculate on what team he is going to end next season. Hopefully though, his professionalism will prevail.

x19 for Denver Nuggets. Boo. I want more. Make them underdogs.  Grin
No doubt I will bet for them but teams right now are overpowered like Nets and Lakers.
Maybe they should put more with the odds considering the high risk.

Ben Simmons.

“You look at what Daryl Morey has done his whole career, he’s hunted stars. [James] Harden, [Dwight] Howard, Chris Paul, [Russell] Westbrook, he tried to trade for Harden again, he’s hunted stars, that’s what he wants, so that’s what he’s doing.
This guy is hunting for a better deal. He doesn't want to end up getting future stars (draft trades). He needs that 1 star now to be partnered with Embiid and bring the championship to the 76ers.

Speaking of Carmelo Anthony, his Lakers career will be his last chance to take the title.

If Lakers fail to run this season, he needs to be part of the team again, if Lakers will allow it. I don't like that to happen to Melo but I'm not  a Laker fan so sorry. He should gave his all even out of his prime to help the Lakers on their championship target.

If I'm not mistaken, those being sign by Lakers is just a one year veteran contract, so if ever they failed to win a champion, we don't know if they are going to retain them or not.

The same experience I feel for Chris Paul last NBA championship. I like him to have an NBA title but rooting for the Milwaukee Bucks to win the championship. Smiley

I guess Chris Paul has still a good chance to win a NBA ring, but the chances are getting slim, last year was the closest, but there's no denying Giannis and the Bucks to make history.

Melo is the only one on the list that has never won a championship yet, therefore I want to believe that Melo will have a better season with the Lakers as he always wants to have at least one championship and this is his chance as the Lakers have the best roster ever since Lebron joined the team.
Yes, I'm cheering for Carmelo Anthony to get his first NBA ring this season!!

Another player who also deserves his NBA champion ring is CP3.
In the last finals we had, CP3 lead the Suns, unfortunately they lost to the Bucks, but I believe in a few years CP3 will be able to be NBA champion before retiring

About CP3, the time for him is really short as we look for these current rosters from different teams. Then age also will hurt him together with those old and possible injuries, it's going to be a tough road for CP3 to win a ring.

While with Melo, with the strong cast that surrounds him, it will be much brighter for him to win now, though if not, he will completely lose that chance to win one before his retirement.

I'm going to add Harden here as he also has a better chance to win his first NBA title, the only one that left to complete his resume.
