That was a nasty game for the Nets. 8 turnovers for Durant and Drummond owned them in barely over 20 minutes of playing time. I’m sure things will look different in the playoffs but Lakers fans have to be rejoicing in that victory. The Clip of Drummond calling Aldridge too small will be making the rounds on Sportscenter all day.

We should not look this one loss as a big issue, they have a bad game, that's it, everyone should move on and expect that the Nets will bounce back in their next game. Nothing's change, Nets is still the number 1 in the East and the top favorites to win the championship.

They are not tanking in short, one game is just one game = one loss.
That's true.
Lakers had their good game while the Nets had their bad ones too.
Kyrie lost his composure at the first half and I think that also affects their performance.

Trollbox explodes, Lakers fan trolling and looking for the Nets bandwagon.  Grin Happy times.
Drummond just being Drummond again with his high stats of double figures in rebounds and points.
I suppose Lebron is happy for the managements decision.

He was for sure, and imagine if Lebron will come back with Davis, Lakers would be a tough team to beat. Their advantage is always their size, with LEBRON, AD, and Drummond playing together as starters, I could already see more points in the paint and their outside shooting will be effective as well as their opponent will definitely give more attention defending the inside.

I'm more comfortable with Harden around.

Everyone is because Nets had really improve when Harden came, and now that he is injured, it's time for Durant and Irving to prove that they can also achieve the same success Harden succeed when he was healthy. Harden is not playing but it will not take long, he will be back soon and for the first time, we will see the big 5.  Grin

This game seems like a giveaway game for the Lakers but nevertheless, it was an unexpected turn of events where they beat the Nets big time without their star players. What I wanted to see is the Brooklyn Nets vs their eastern conference team's possible rivals, because we will have an idea what will be the outcome of the playoff games between the Nets and the other teams in the East.

The Lakers without AD and James won the Nets by 25 points. It looks like Drummond turned out to be very useful for the Lakers, considering that he has made two double-doubles in a row after injury. Did someone bet on the Lakers? What were the odds?
Maybe the ejection of Kyrie Irving had a huge impact to the team itself as they lose their one of the scoring leaders. I know that the Lakers didn't have AD and LBJ at that game but they still have really good players. THT, Drummond and McLemore really did stepped up and made this huge upset.

This might be a statement against the Nets that they can also win against them and can make a back to back championship Smiley. Nets are the favorites right now of winning the championship but if one of them are either injured, ejected or at least will not play then it might cause a huge effect to the team itself. :|

We didn't expect this to happen but it happen, Lakers are just so smart, their defense is superb in this game and they won it with a good margin, biggest upset but Lakers is a great team so it's not so surprising for the fans or believers of the Lakers, I'm sure AD and Lebron were happy watching the game.

Oh well, that's basketball for us, only a few of us bet on Lakers that they are going to win and no one thought that they can win big against the Nets without Lebron and AD. But Drummond proved that he is worth every penny.

I also agree with @mirakal, this is just one lost for them and for sure they will start a winning streak again. I'm more comfortable with Harden around.

I thought of betting on Nets but I changed my mind. I'm very happy to do that now.  Grin

Lebron and Davis both were absent in this game but still Lakers did a great job by defeating Nets. Durant and Irving were in the game but they couldn't prevent the loss. But they didn't play for a very long time in this.

I'm one of those who think that Nets will win by double digits, bet (-10.5) at 1.93. Never thought that it will be the other way around as the Lakers really covered and win by a whopping 25 points. Good for those who bet on the Lakers.

Nevertheless, we can't get away that Nets is still the favourite to win the championship this season. But this game proved that other teams players very good, then defense and then the big 3 having an off night, they are beatable. For sure Nets, has learned their lessons for this Lakers defeat.

But that was just one win, it's just the headline because we thought Nets are unbeatable especially against a team that has no LBJ and Davis. It was good watching that some team have abuse the flaws of the Nets, that way they can improve their defense and be back on the winning track, I have no doubt that they'll once again start their win streak if Harden will return to the line up.

Howard trying to injured Zion, I don't like him anymore, his dirty play are all around the NBA, but despite that, I'm happy that Pelicans won and Zion has been dominating in the game, let's all hope he will be healthy so pelicans will have a greater chance of qualifying the playoffs.
I don't like how it end up but that's how physical sports is.
Howard never meant to hurt anyone, he's playing bully ball using his strength as an upper hand. But, when two big bodies clash it will end up bad.
He is just using his body to protect the rim and Zion also extended his arm that caused the off balance fall.

Cavs vs Raptors @ halftime. 54-87
I thought Raptors will break the record of halftime points which is 107 points by Phoenix Suns on November 1990.

Nets are seen as the best team in the league by way too many people. I end up thinking have you guys never watched NBA before to talk so sure about everything. In NBA we have seen Warriors having the best team ever for 2 seasons, first one was 73 win one and lost to Cavs in the finals, and another one when Toronto became champions because injuries prevented Warriors to win it.

I agree with you, but we are talking about the current situation, Durant, Irving and Harden getting healthy. Aldridge showing signs when he with San Antonio early on his career, Griffin as well, still can dunk. So getting that into account, we say that they are going to be the favourite.

As for the injuries, knock on woods, we don't want players to have one specially superstars. We want them healthy as possible. But if it does come, as we don't have control over it, then the odds might chance. But for now with the way the Nets are playing I would say they could be the potential champion barring injuries from key players.

Now that I have read this, its really surprising that most of this Superstars came from injuries and Harden is the only guy who was healthy enough to be within the season without having injuries. Despite their injuries, they are still a top team when facing completely healthy line ups and its really scary to think on how well they could perform if they have their team 100% healthy. Lets just hope that nobody will be injured and have a great playoff this coming year.

Harden has some sort of injuries as well, hamstring, but it wasn't as severe as Durant or may Irving. Just needed days or weeks and sure he will be back and healthy and that what's make them dangerous.

Surprising big lead by Toronto with no Siakal (resting) and Van Fleet and Kyle Lowry. It's Gary Trent leading the team.

How about Zion’s play tonight! That kid is becoming the superstar everyone knew he could be. A career high in rebounds tonight to go along with a win over the 76ers and thirty-seven points. Only the second player in NBA history to go 35-15-5 by that age...

He's indeed becoming the player what everyone expects. I guess he ain't a bust, he's a freak. The size, the speed and agility the kid got it all. He'll become a better all around player than LeBron in the future and he'll be able to achieve more records. If this young pelicans team will stay for the next 5 years, I'm quite sure they'll win a championship. They're a team stacked with future superstar in the making.

I don't think they'll win a championship, its too early to tell. The trend now says that you have to make a superteam in order to win a championship, and that means 2 or 3 all star players in a team, Pelicans does not have that for now.

Not for now because they are relatively young. Zion, Ingram, and Lonzo Ball are all obviously future superstars. That's why I said in the next 5 years If they're still intact maybe they could win a championship. I didn't mean this year or so.
The 2015 GSW roster didnt assemble superteam, they created it with their own roster and win a championship, until Durant joined them. I can almost see the same thing for the young Pels. They just need to put complementary pieces that could perfectly blend with their style of game.

Zion is the Stephen Curry of the team, he will be a definition on the standard  of a good big man, he is fast and strong with some good basketball IQ. I thought Zion one day will win an MVP award, his style of play is what makes a team succesful because he is humble and always follow what the play is design for.

Now we are talking about Nets like they are so surely the winners of the league when they had so many players missing all the time. What if playoffs comes and Irving gets injured? Maybe Durant goes down with him? What if Harden misses games? I mean we should not be talking so surely about Nets winning the league like it is guaranteed. Nobody could have guessed a Miami finals last year neither, they talked about Bucks and Sixers and so forth like they were the best but Miami showed up. We should not put any team over another when it is playoffs.
It's an impression by most fans.

And most of the people here have watched NBA for many years and keeps tuning in for more news daily. It's not a problem why many of us think that they're a good champion candidate for this season.

There's no problem with that if others or the majority think that they'll be the one that's about to get the title in the finals. Nobody really knows what can happen in the future if injury might come to any of their star players but it's just about how to deal and respect with others opinion.

The first player of this season.
I enjoyed watching him banging with 76ers big men. Almost every point he took was below the rim.
That's the time when I actually forgot I was betting for the 76ers.  Grin I was already cheering for the Pelicans.  Roll Eyes

Embiid was not off night. Aquaman just did his job using Atlantis defense.  Grin
Pelicans fought really hard today and Zion putting a show gave us a glimpse of his future.
I do agree with the fact that Zion will be a great player in the future but I think it is going to depend on his body as well. It is not easy to be that heavy and play that much above the rim and then not get injured constantly.

It is a bit about how you are built as well, look at Lebron dude is not a skinny player for sure, he could be actually skinner than Zion so I am not sure about if this is a good example, but Lebron has been a freighttrain for years and played 16 or 17 season I think so far and he hasn't been injured that much, he plays constantly and he is looking to break the scoring record as well, and even at his current age he is a great player even though he got injured for a bit now, but that could be a rest for him to get better during playoffs. This is why Zion could be like Lebron or he could be like Derrick Rose, that will decide his career.
