The Nets and Lakers literally did nothing.  If the Nets didn't have the players you think Blake and Aldridge sign with the nets no.   Its disappointing that the players want to form "super teams".  The only thing it intrigues is superficial fans not actual fans.  I know for a fact Nets will win the East so long as everyone is healthy...what is fun about that.  Players today are soft...they need a super team to go for a championship instead of getting there on their own.  As a knick fan I HOPE they never go this route.  I'd rather them be terrible for 20 more years than to just get the NBA all nba team on their team and win a chip..but maybe thats just me
You have to consider, why though? I mean Lakers right before Lebron came in (and even on his first year) were a terrible team that kept missing playoffs back to back for the longest time in its history, and then they got players and they won championship on the first playoff run in a long time, you have to realize that it's a big deal.

Nets on the other hand got two superstars and traded for a third one and now they are stacked. You may think that players built those teams, AD wanting to go to Lakers, Harden pushing for Nets trade, Irving and Durant getting together on Nets deal.

These may all look like things that players did and teams just got lucky but you have to realize in order to get these players teams would have to be good as well, not the roster but the front office, if you can pull these off you are actually doing something remarkable, why not Suns? Why not Kings? Look at clippers, they got Kawhi and PG13 and some other good players but lost to Denver. So, it's not as easy as it sounds.

Is this final? I thought that this is still a rumor. But anyway, looks like the Nets are getting stronger in their force and really serious in taking this seasons ring.

Exciting.
Yeah, it's final because NBA already posted a report on the official site about it. Aldridge is going to sign a 1-year contract with the Nets.
On paper, the Nets(All-star) roster will be unbelievable and unstoppable, and I'll be excited to see them in action in the playoffs.
It seems that the Nets are going to take the ring this time. That was an unexpected transfer from Aldridge. A big man with the others that can really contribute pretty well to the team.

This is a superteam and I think most will agree to that or I'm just hyped on it or all of us were.
😁 Like the Lakers last season...
That's how you know the champions. No work, No luck.
But Lakers isn't going to let them just snatch it away.

Great news.
We will just need to wait for Davis and Lebron to come back.
Once they did, they might make it again at the top.

For those worried if your supported teams are at the 10th or 9th rank, don't be.
There will be a play-in tournament again just like last year.

Will this be a Nets Vs. Lakers in the NBA Finals?? An All-star player that is a double-double machine, an All-Star player that can rebound, pass and score and another All-Star player that can be a big help for them inside and outside, will this be enough to beat the Nets? We know the current roster of Nets right now and they are a championship caliber no doubt and they got stronger with Aldrige on the roster.

I just hope that LeBron and Davis will be healthy all through out the rest of the season and in the playoffs to have a chance for a 2-time championship. Smiley

If the Nets can keep their roster healthy, they are the sure champion in the East IMO.

The Lakers, even with the addition of Drummond is not sure of a final slot as the Jazz and Clippers could give them a good fight.

Lebron and AD are injury prone and if either of them will get injured prior the playoffs then they are out.

Lebron's injury is not serious, he just need to rest and he will be back again, but Davis, I think he could be prone to injury and that is bad, however even with a healthy Lebron and Drummond, however, on the other side, if Durant or Irving will be injured, I think a healthy Lakers has a good chance of beating them, and even other teams in the East like Sixers, Bucks, Celtics and even Heat.

Don't get too discourage mate, don't worry, none of these two will win the NBA championship, it's going to be the Clippers who will win the NBA championship this season. This is where Leonard will step up when they are underestimated as a team, Rondo will help him.

Well, that's a pretty optimistic prediction. I'd love to see Kawhi get his third ring but last time I checked they choke hard on play-offs. I don't know if they can go to finals, bench looks a little weak. If something happen to Kawhi or George they would be out of discussion immediately.

Thats why they need to stay healthy since if they are out on the picture then provably clippers will struggle. But also don't underestimate the bench since they have decent line up + rondo the true point guard just been added to them so for this they really get a good shot to finals.

And also, Nuggets and Jazz are still there, this young guns are hunger to win a title. We don't know how this season will ends up
and who will be the crown champ.

Superteams are being build up both from East and West, though it's very predictable in terms of stats and with the line up that
now being created.

I also eyeing for Nets and Lakers though  Grin Roll Eyes

I hope none of that will happen, probably it was a coaching problem in the past, they now have a new coach and added Rondo, I think that is good enough to call Clippers a championship too. Maybe all eyes are now on the Nets and Lakers but once playoffs starts, I expect the Clippers to be a surprise, in a positive way.

Lamarcus Aldridge to Brooklyn Nets and Andre Drummond to Los Angeles Lakers. Two big transfers in one day from East and West.
We know this seasons finals already, Nets vs. Lakers it's obvious. I'm against superteams in NBA, it kills competition. Why would I watch regular season and play-offs now? Salary cap used to have a meaning, now whole organisation is a joke.

Lakers were better off keeping both McGee and Howard in the offseason...

I look at Drummond as a slightly improved version of Tristan Thompson for LeBron in his days with the Cavs. Drummond can't shoot, atrocious fg% as a center considering he is only finishing inside at 47%. He will be a huge liability at the free-throw line with 58%. At least the Nets didn't get another body, other than that, he can up his orebs catching Pope and Kuzma's 3pt bricks.

Well, I somehow agree that McGee and Howard should have kept by the Lakers.
But, Drummond is also a good addition for the current Lakers line up. He's not slightly better than Tristan Thompson, he is much better compliment for LeBron and AD. I mean he has the size and the speed and could create his own shot easily in the paint, and rebounds better. Although he had a very terrible shooting percentage especially with the FT, but his presence would be a huge factor for the team. More offensive rebounder means more second chance points, plus Drummond is such a good defender.
One thing I noticed about the Lakers, is that they're building a defensive and physical roster.

With Davis out and will be in the examination this week, Drummond will fulfill the Center spot since Gasol aren't playing that well with the team.

It will be Lakers final push for this season, adding Drummond in the line.

They did win today against the Lakers, they had a good lead, but Magic come back take the lead and it was close. But they did manage to win, Gasol play, scoring 7 points with 3 assists and 2 rebounds, at least he contributes now.

The contribution is not that impressive IMO, for a player with a high value, I think Lakers deserve more than that.

Drummond is way better, he can score and take those rebounds that's why he average a double double and only few big man can do that.

So far the Nets showed a good chemistry, Drummond hasn't played with Davis and Lebron James yet, so that remains to be seen, if they will build a good chemistry playing together, then they maybe have a shot for a title repeat.

Yes, everyone knows... LeBron James makes a LOT of difference in the team, and he is one of the most experienced players in the league!

Although Drummond is a little short for his position, but he is very dominant in the painted part of the court, and can get several rebounds

He has a very impressive stats, averaging 17 ppg and 13.5 TRB.. I think that will scare the other teams.
Drummond has finally found a championship team and he is expected to perform his best to help the Lakers in a back to back championship.

I'm sure Lebron is so happy now.

https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/d/drumman01.html

I'm surprise and at the same time happy with the news.

Drummond should be a good center that will help the Lakers to be strong this season, nets have been loading their line up by just recently signing Griffin then LA Aldridge but Drummond is just a special player, he can dominate inside and with him and Davis inside, I think there's more room for the Lakers shooters to be more confident.

Well, Drummond went to the Lakers and that makes this team more competitive!
I think that the great players of the Lakers (PF-C) make a big difference, for example, Harrell, AD, Gasol ("injured") and now with Drummond in the team!

Now what one thing no one has thought about is, what will the chemistry of these teams be like? Will it be all right? Will the Nets and Lakers have bank players to take turns? And experience is also important!

In my opinion I think that only some quality PG or SG is missing for the Lakers to stay on the same level as the Nets
it will be a good fit since Davis will have less load under the basket because of Drummond, with his addition if he will accept to be lakers, Lebron will have an easy way to the basket and can focus on slashing, on the defensive end it's like a wall Drumond in the center while ad and LeBron, will be swatting the ball if it will be on the lane, it will be fabulous I think.
Yes, I agree with you @ akirasendo17, Drummond will make a big difference for the Lakers!!

I think, AD and Drummond will make a great duo, something like Demarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis when playing for the Pelicans.

But it's better here as they have Lebron James who is their king.

Also, Drummond is not prone to injury, so even if Davis will be injured, Drummond is still a big thing for the Lakers and they will be successful because of his contribution. I can't wait to see them playing together, they are the real big 3 and this is the first time I see a literal BIG 3.

The Nets and the Lakers should be praised and not vilified. Look at where these teams were a few years ago. The Nets had literally the worst situation in the league, with a terrible team and most of its draft capital traded away for hasbeens by one Billy Knight. I'm a Lakers fan and I remember the golden days of Ronnie Price, Robert Sacre and Byron Scott telling everyone threepointers are overrated. Both teams were an effing joke.

What happened since then is both teams fired their incompetent GMs and got people who actually understand basketball. Both teams executed shrewd trades, especially LA had a few really good drafts, though Brooklyn found Jarett Allen at pick 20. Then they had the stars sign with them, but neither LeBron nor Durant would have signed if the teams had stayed terrible. At the point of signing the stars both teams had a good cadre of young players on reasonable contracts. In prior years the Lakers couldn't even get meetings with top free agents, let alone a serious conversation.

Sure, players prefer to come to LA or New York than to Minnesota, but you gotta create the conditions to have them sign in the first place and you do that by smart management. The Knicks or Bulls are a great example how to not do business.

Praised no.
