Ok, Bucks just demolished GSW with a total of 39 points spread.
GSW is such a weak team this season, they lost by 20+ points in their last two games, I don't think this team would ever reach in the playoffs with the kind of effort they are showing, I understand that Bucks and Nets are both good teams but Warriors are once a dominant team, so the expectation to compete is still expected by the fans.

Ok, Bucks just demolished GSW with a total of 39 points spread. Next is Celtics vs Nets and I have a feeling that both 1st quarters will go to Nets as Kd and KI are on fire and they have such a hunger of scoring baskets and take wins , especially KD who we all know is coming after Achile injury.

On Mavs vs Lakers I have a feeling that somehow Mavs can pulls out a victory in the 4th quarter...but we'll see.

I'm surprised that nobody here in the thread is talking about Lamelo Ball's scoreless NBA debut, I mean it was the first time since Otto Porter who was a top 3 pick who went scoreless on their nba debut. He literally just have 3 AST, 2 steals, and a rebound which I don't think is worthy to be a top 3 pick in the NBA. He was really hyped up by the media so I think people really think he is a good player but let see it was just his first game of the regular season and he can still improve.
For me, I don't see it as an issue. Just give the kid a break.
Debut games won't be always ending up on good scores...
It isnt really much of an isssue yet they wont really be picked out for nothing.
But it was still a scoreless, might give him a shock (as it will be an unforgettable  moment on his career) after making that debut, maybe atleast he could've  scored few,... and yea, maybe it was that just really bad as they won't  get picked if they have a play that could've not been considered as outstanding.

It's like Lonzo when he entered the league. Lonzo's debut game was only 3 points in 29 minutes. But in their next game, he grabbed 29 points. Let's see if LaMelo will show good numbers on their next game.

Not expecting they will live on the hype but I'm sure they will have good progress.

Debut games won't be always ending up on good scores. I agree that this isnt been a hype and give those kids some time. They might havent able to get some good start up but this is still a long path to go and make some show-off.

coach Pop is known to be a defensive team..

Spurs managed to sign some of the good defenders in the league so Coach Pop takes advantage on that. Their roster is almost complete. Some known defensive players on their roster before are:

David Robinson
Tim Duncan
Bruce Bowen
Manu Ginnobili
Kawhi Leonard
Danny Green
Dejounte Murray

Now shifting to more offensive, I'm looking forward to it. Looking at their current roster, they really need to focus more on offensive phase to keep up with the competition on the West. The team is not the same as before so adjustments should be made.

Miami Heat played a home match against New Orleans Pelicans this evening. Heat got a nice win (111-98). On Heat side, Robinson got 23 points and 5 assists. Dragic got 18 points and 9 assists. He was close to making a double-double. On Pelicans side, Zion Williamson played really nice. He got 32 points and 14 rebounds. Ingram did a good job too by getting 28 points.

Following up on the Suns vs. Mavs match, it looks like Dallas needs more reliable players to support Luka Doncic. He scored 32 points in that game and they still lost. Phoenix, on the other hand, looks more balanced. Devin Booker, who gives monster numbers in previous seasons, only needed 22 points.

Dallas Mavericks just came up short but it doesn't mean they need reliable players to support Luka. It's just a 4 point game loss. They have lots of chances during the clutch time but unfortunately, some of their clutch shots didn't go in.

On the other hand, Phoenix Suns really great a good job on that game including a great production from their bench players.

Anyway too early to tell if there's something wrong with the Mavericks' chemistry. It's just their first game so let's just watch the progress.

Part of the game, early to judge them out. Luka is enjoying it and He's still young the rest of Dallas are very supportive to him, game opener is for the Sun as they got good contrbutions from the bench.

There are games where players have an off shooting touched, it's not always to got that luck even you have a closer look.

Let see how they'll adjust coming this second game against the Lakers, both came from an early loss. It's an intersting game to watch.

Do you really think you could keep players from partying? I mean that is not going to be easy at all, this season will have a lot of troubles with both players going out, players getting covid and also games postponing because of it, this was just the early days and we had one but we are going to have sooo much more. Remember last year there was a news about one of the players literally having sex with one of the people who did the testing, and paid her to keep quiet about it as well.

So, I would say players who can find "contact" even in bubble with only people they see are other basketball players and testers, will surely be able to go get "contact" in outside world. Harden was an example, dude is known to party, there is no doubt about that, however other players are not immune to that neither, Kawhi who we know as a family father and a silent guy, was video at a strip club as well, I wouldn't be shocked if any player did that during covid period.

A slap in the wrist hehe. Who cares about $50,000 when you're earning millions a year.

Did they say that they will change from a defensive team to a more offensive team?
Yes, they did tell something about changing how the play works.
IIRC, I posted it here before the pre-season. I just can't find it.
It was a tweet from Patty Mills. They did prove it the first game but just like others are telling here they still need to prove it with consistency.
We will just have to watch more.  Wink

Then it's an effective change by the team, coach Pop is known to be a defensive team but I'm happy he was able to make some big adjustments after seeing how his team are playing in the past seasons. Most probably teams will change into a more offensive team and that makes betting on over fun. lol.

James Harden must quarantine until Friday; could play in opener

Harden wanting to go so just messing up with his team now, I thought they will do great with John Wall but it seems like Harden is not anymore as hungry as he was before with his team, so the team can't rely on him, and with this news about his violation, it will affect his bid for MVP this season which we know he is always at the top 5 or even top 3.
Yeah, saw pics of Harden in a private party and my initial thought is that this is not good. So the NBA has found out, fine $50 because of that irresponsibility. It's just the beginning of the season and it's seem that Harden has started in the wrong foot here. The pandemic is not over, even if it Christmas holiday, everyone should follow safety protocols, specially a high level athlete like him shouldn't be seen like this. I'm not sure though if he had issue a public apology for his act.

This is crazy. I really thought it was going to be a smooth season.
Events like this may postpone other games if the trace touches other personnel.
And that is because of Harden's irresponsible action.

he was also fined $50,000 due to the violation.

He has proven himself in the last season, so there's no doubt how effective Butler or Miami for that matter. But I guess there are still haters of Jimmy and thinks that the last season performance was a fluke - due to bubble.
Jimmy is always a talented as an individual player but he is a good teammate as well.
For me, the reason why they were successful last bubble is because of their teammates, it's not all the time that Butler is carrying the team, they played so well as a team so they have the success that people didn't see it coming.

But I'm sure he has no pressure on him, but knowing how competitive the guy is, he will once again prove himself and will go for the finals again.
Jimmy will always remain competitive but at the same time he trust his teammates so he does not only put the pressure on his shoulder alone.

Many of the fans now would look greatly with the Brooklyn Nets. I'm also moved to see how Durant made it well against Golden State Warriors. Everybody thought that it would be harder for Nets because of the past situation of KD. But it didn't showed that he's still in that situation before and the next matches of Nets will be followed by many.

Yeah right! KD's condition seems  like he's  aiming  for another  title.

He keeps  impressing  he's fans the way he played last night, though  it's still a long  road and lots of adjustments  from different  teams  and trades still possible  to happen,  but for now Nets have a better  chance  to win  this from the East and also  a chance  to win  the title.
The expectation that he would no longer effective is now gone. I admit that I'm one of those fans that thought that he would no longer be good on this season because of the past. But he proved me wrong and others too. Nets wasn't a strong team before but I guess this time they're going to be one of the teams that will get the attention for this season. With Kyrie and Deandre, they've got what it takes to take the highlight for this season.

Winding down.

This is very unpredictable start of NBA season and bookmakers are not helping us at all so I am not sure what to think about Miami Heat vs New Orleans Pelicans game. Miami Heat looks like a favorite but they already lost from Pelicans two times this year, and they lost last game against Orlando Magic.
I don't see any big stars in their team and main players now are Adebayo and Dragic with most points, but I have no idea what to think about next game with Pelicans.
You forgot about Butler. He scored only 19 points in the previous game, but he also made seven assists and seven steals. Anyway, the next matchup against the Pelicans will be difficult for Miami Heat if they don't stop Zion and Ingram.

After those loses from Pelicans from the pre-season and another loss from Magic in their game opener.

For sure adjustment will be made, Butler and the rest of Miami will bounce back, they still have their stars coming from the last bubble
just need some adjustment and good blends of players inside the court. One game won't conclude the entire season.

Yeah, it's early to say about Miami's situation, Butler is still performing above expectations and with that 7 steals, I think that could be good for a record this season. The thing is that since they've been in the finals last season and put a spectacular display against the Lakers, fans are now high on their expectations on Miami.

But they are slow starters, and again, might figure in the 4th or 5th position on the East, but their performance in playoffs are very different than their regular games. So I still think that Miami can bounce back from their early lost.

We've seen them surprised us in the past, let's give them the credit they deserved and for me I respect them a lot and I believe they will not have a hard time going into the playoffs again. It's a new season, and I hope Miami heat would improve and I think every team has already adjusted in the current situation, so this is a more realistic battle during the times of pandemic.
