does it worth it, to pay this big man that high?
Of course, Gobert is beast down low when it comes to defense, he can play any center in his position, he maybe not a type of center that will do some good offense but when it comes to defense, you can really rely on this man. He is playing with consistency and the management sees that so he is now rewarded.
Overpaid in my opinion, yes he is a defensive beast, manning the middle and being the center, he defines a typical center of old. However, players are now shooting outside more often in the history of NBA so his value decreases. They could get any center and pay him less, and use the money for others, just saying.

Guy, what do you think about Rudy Gobert’s 5-year, $205 million contracts?

I think this is one of the biggest contracts in the upcoming season right now, What do you think? does it worth it, to pay this big man that high?

hello
as i see opening match is:
Brooklyn Nets - Golden State Warriors  3.25

Warriors took a rest for 2 years. Is it possible that they are winning this match?
anybody here can compare both teams, what is the current situation?

Here's the information, https://www.covers.com/sport/basketball/nba/matchup/238843

Compare it and study.

As you your question whether is it possible for Warriors, yes of course, and I just want to correct you, they didn't took a rest for 2 years. Grin

Maybe he meant 2 years away from the finals.

But in terms of this upcoming game, they always have the chance even it's slim due to their current lineup, basketball is unpredictable once everything turned possitively in your side both defense and offense turns to you winning is always achievable even you are an underdog.

We don't know yet if Warriors can come back to the Finals now that they are not anymore as dominant as before, they loss Durant and Thompson, and Iguadala as well, so I don't really expect they will come back anytime soon.

What do you think about this news?

NBA GMs have spoken — Erik Spoelstra is league’s best coach
Did he won the coach of the year award? if so, this is his first time, right?

Maybe Spoelstra will have a chance to win his first coach of the year award in the next season if the Miami Heat repeats the same result.

That's not easy to do now, lots of players coming back, like Durant and Irving which team is currently the favorites to win in the East. If they Heat were still lucky to win in the East, I still think they wills struggle in the Finals as the west are full or talents.

Who won the coach of the year last season?

we have Houston which doesn't have Westbrook anymore but has wall instead,

Westbrook only played 1 season in the Rockets. The team always fails to even reach the Western Conference Finals every year with Haden on-board.

Paired with Chris Paul, Paired with Westbrook = fail.

Rockets are choking because of James Harden. The Rockets should consider trading him. John Wall's talent is wasted here. He needs a good tandem, and that's not James Harden. Smiley

But Denver Nuggets will be the champion this year.  Cheesy

Haha, you got me there.
Then Lakers and Nuggets at the Finals again?  Wink
That'd be great! However, there are lots of promising teams (Pelicans, Grizzlies, GSW, and Mavs) right now, so I am not really sure if we will be able to witness that match up  Cheesy.

Dunno 'bout the guy who wrote this but if this were true, I doubt Rockets would just let Harden off that easily. Houston for sure, must see solid set up on the table before this to happen though.

7th and 8th spot is up for grabs. I think even the Warriors have a chance.

I think they actually have a chance, but only if first unit will be healthy, since they are irreplaceable and if new rookie James Wiseman will play well. Since he played only 3 games on collage and no preseason games he is still a mystery. High school games cant really tell much.

Yeah right. Thy've got the chance if they will have the first line healthy.

The competition is really tough for them but knowing their capabilities and how they impress their fans when they've got the chance to win a game, the outside shooting will continue first line offense and same thing with offense will be the actual defense as they'll keep trying to land those 3's.

West is still good if you ask me, it is not decided who will be at the finals this year, I agree that Lakers are the biggest favorites here but that doesn't mean that other teams are bad neither. We have clippers which will probably try to play a lot better this year because of what happened last year, we have Dallas that is a growing team, we have Houston which doesn't have Westbrook anymore but has wall instead, we have Denver that has been a decent team for a while now, those are all good teams that could potentially reach to finals, some have bigger chance and some have lower but they are all great teams.

East seems weaker to me no matter what, they could have bucks and some other teams but they are all worse than the teams from the west conference. However I still think that Lakers will probably win another ring, I say west is better but I believe Lakers will win even against such teams.

The West doesn't excite me anymore to be honest because you can see which team (Lakers in this case) will dominate so yeah it is on Lakers as usual. What is more intriguing to predict is which team will win in the East. I'm still rooting for Bucks but the logics are opposite — Brooklyn is waving.
I am more interested with the West, I believe Lakers has a big chance of winning in the West but I don't think they'll dominate.
We have the Nuggets, they'll improve, the Clippers which will bounce back and the GSW which I think will be a surprise this season.
Yeah, we have different interests here.  Grin
I guess it may also affect which team we are rooting for.
West, I'm with Nuggets.
From 1-3 to win against the Clippers is also exciting right? We don't see much of that comebacks anymore

East I am with just going to watch them. (maybe Miami).  Grin
Rooting for those kids to come back and try the Finals again. But it's going to be a rough road.

I agree. He really deserve it. But things happened already, so let's move on and see if he can lead the Heat to The Finals once again. But imo, I'm having a doubt. Just a gut feeling tho lol.
Heat won't be in the Finals this season, because we have already the Nets which are healthy.

I can't recall if it's just his first time but IIRC, there were nominations or probably awards and recognition for him before. I really can't remember if that/those were awards.

But if he ever wins this, he deserves to win. People recognizes him and I agree that he's one of the best coaches if not the top 1.

I will also will vote for him.
No disrespect to Coach Vogel of the Lakers but Erik Spoelstra did an awesome job this year taking the young players into a Finals experience.
Now, they have something to boast about.  Grin That's not an easy task considering they are also in the bubble.

Any thoughts on the Blazers game tonight? I plan to take a leap of faith in them and bet AH -3.5 Blazers at 3.65.

I want a little thrill as I bet on Cavaliers earlier and this seems to be wasted.

-3.5 against Denver Nuggets?? This is surely a crazy bet considering there previous match up. I'm not a fan of Blazers because they are so inconsistent despite of there good roster. I believe you should just bet during live game of this match then wait for a handicap to turn positive for a safe bet. Anyway this is basketball and no one knows what will happened. Maybe Melo make some magic.

I was after the high odds here, hoping for a surprise.

And watching the game right now, definitely miss it! Cheesy Nuggets totally dominates the game for Q1 and Q2 and the current odds for them are 1.02 :|

I understand that, Sometimes I do that if I'm desperate to bet with high odds. I usually pick a random match and choose high odds BTW nuggets dominated the game as I predicted. Even +30 for Blazers is not sufficient to win the match. I hope that you bet only what you can afford to lose.

Real talk, It's sucks to watch a game if you bet on the losing side. I always grab the remote and turn to different channel then come back when the match is near to end.   Cheesy:D

Yep, My bets are completely reasonable and I don't have any problems losing a few in a row. One of the skills I learned more than 15 years ago was proper bankroll management.

Today I will try a surprise with AH -2 Hawks at 2.50

IMO it's more fun to watch and expect the surprise D:
