Crazy trades for this season, team are rebuilding and players getting good pay check.

Yeap! Carmelo re-signed a 1-year contract with Portland.

Charlotte Hornets signed Gordon Hayward to a 4year/120$ million deal, honestly I don't know what Mitch Kupchak is thinking about signing a player who clearly has not recovered from his injury yet to a big deal like this one. Don't get me wrong but if you look at other contracts now you will see that Minnesota has signed Malik Beasley to a 4year/60$ million deal where Beasley has produced better stats compared to Hayward and also has no injury problems. Honestly I am thinking that Hornets didn't took advantage of their cap space on signing Hayward.

I also don't understand what the Hornets are expecting to get from him. Nevertheless, it's a good deal for Hayward because he has a contract with the same salary as he got before the injury. So, he won't lose money at all.

I totally agree with what you said about Durant. He had a difficult injury period and I'm looking forward to how he will return. Maybe he will come back with a very aggressive and powerful game.
He can prove himself again. That's what happen usually when a player gets injured, it always affects their career and performance.  Undecided

He would not come back automatically, he missed the whole season and we expect him to produce his usual stats, I think that's unrealistic. We've seen him playing in the practice but we haven't seen him played in the official game, that's the difference and he might struggle in the beginning of the season finding his rhythm and slowly getting back his confidence.

I'm not judging him, but that's just my observation of players coming from a long lay off due to serious injury.

So far Lakers lost danny green and howard while getting schroder and harrel and I am not entirely sure if this was a good move by them or not, looks like defense will lack a lot more this year even with AD.
I don't see it as a good move though.

But it is them and if they think that's a good move, we can't do anything about it. If they had to trade/release, there's nothing much we can do with that. Their priority isn't Green and Howard but as a fan, we have mutual feeling.

The draft night was crazy with trades, and now free agency looking like it is going even crazier. Howard going to Sixers was a big news and after that Lakers said they are getting Harrel from clippers which was totally unexpected and even PatBev had a thing or two to say about that on twitter. There is waaay too many moves going on right now, league will be back in 20 days or so (pre-season) so teams are trying to act as quickly as possible with their moves to set the rosters a bit before the leagues start so they could have some practices done and get some chemistry going.

I don't want to conclude it yet.
They must show if that decision will really work out.
Also, that injury from Durant may have affected his mental strength. We don't know yet if he plays like the old Durant.
Then, Achilles injury may keep on going back and it will take a longer time to heal again.

It's really divided now.
Surprisingly Miami Heat is still in the 6th rank in favorites and the Celtics are on top of them.
Damn, there must be a lot of Celtics fans out there even when the Heat did great in the bubble.

That's why we will watch a very exciting season this year. After a few matches, the players on the team get used to each other, and even teams that we don't think have huge chances can become favorites for the playoffs Smiley

Now my favorite team for the championship is Brooklyn Nets. Steve Nash, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving can do great work with the trio. Nash will be a great coach for the development of Irving, which excites me very much.
I hope we don't see any serious injuries this season Sad

Great acquisition by the Lakers, he is a starter of the Clippers and he is bringing lots of energy in the floor.
Montrezl Harrel was not 100% last playoffs so he wasn't so productive but he will be fully healed and well prepared for next season, so Lakers will still improve as a team.
Moreover, there's also a rumor that they may acquire Marc Gasol and that puts Harrel still on top reserve, well, that's his role as a 6th man.

We have to see Durant's performance first, can't conclude if I can't at least see him play one game in the regular season.
That's what I meant but I am seeing some videos that he's able now to play but can't be that hopeful until we see an article or news that may prove that he freshly start with the upcoming season.

In the photo, you can see a billboard (in his native city Ljubljana, Slovenia) rented by the Miami Heat as part of a tactic to keep Goran Dragic after his contract expires.
A very interesting tactic, do you think it will be successful?  Grin
He re-signed with Miami but this time it's a 2 year deal contract for $37.4M as per the report. I think that's a successful one from the Miami Heat.

Brrr. Suddenly the Nets became the 2nd favorite.
Now, what team will I be betting on this season to win impossible games.  Grin
GSW went down all of a sudden with just one news about Klay.
Well, I guess I might win some bets rooting for GSW now.
Curry is still there and so are Green and Wiggins. Who knows if suddenly Wiseman had the right chemistry with the team.
Then bandwagons will be back.  Wink

I think Golden State can not be champion this year. Although they had a very good team last season and they could not become the champion. There will be no difference this year. Klay Thompson is one of the most important players for this team, we saw the team's performance when he wasn't playing. Stephen Curry is not a player who can make a champion alone.
We can already understand how low their chances of being a champion when we see how high the odd is Smiley

I dont think you've seen steph at the top of his game.  There are very few players who can carry their teams and steph is one of the..  when he is on top of his game he is unstoppable.  At +1700 odds and the celtics at +1300, I'd rather take the warriors then i would boston.  At best I think boston is the 4th or 5th best team in the east.  Dont know why their odds are so high.

But Lakers do get Montrezl Harrel for a two year deal it's a good addition on the Lakers defense right now, it's indeed an interesting one: https://www.si.com/.amp/nba/2020/11/21/montrezl-harrell-los-angeles-lakers-contract-grade

Right now Brooklyn was really the best team and most favored but I think as the season hasn't yet started we may see more interesting lineups with this free agent and pursuing deals.

What's funny is that Dwight tweeted that he will stay with the Lakers,

then deleting his tweet, LMAO.

LMAO, hahaha he assumed that immediately but can't blame him. He might still be too happy from the Championship hangover. Another thing Lakers are doing is pooling so many players even though they got so much reserve players that are already good players. Can somebody enlighten me on why do teams do that?

But that is because of the news that Klay is out, and fans were really disappointed as Klay is one of the big reason on the success of the Warriors, without him, it's uncertainly if they can still compete at a high level, yes there's curry, Green, and Wiggins, but people has to see first if Wiggin could really contribute with some consistent numbers.

No matter how well Wiggins play, I think they don't have much of a chance. He may be a qualified player but not enough for the championship Smiley

Wiggins is not going to be the one to dictate the team's destiny, this team has proven that they can achieved the championship, and we are talking of the Warriors here who are dominating the league for many seasons, and they still have Curry, Green, and most importantly their coach Steve Kerr, and he is the main reason for the success of the Warriors, let's just see how he will experiment next season.

I already miss Klay and I'm excited that he can overcome his current injury and make a comeback in the next next season. In terms of Wiggins, I'm sure he can be part of the team chemistry wherein I'm expecting that he will have good performances in the next season.

That's a long time to wait, he was not able to play one season and now he will not again play for another one season, I wonder what it would effect this into him, this is just too much trial for him, I hope his career as an NBA player will not end here and he will continue to believe in himself.

This kind of injury will slowly loss your confidence as a player.

Even Klay Thompson didn't suffer the injury, Warriors won't be included as one of the Favorites in NBA Futures prior the start of NBA season. Lots of teams can handle them on their current setup. They will just tagged by sportbookies obviously as one of the Favorites if ever they able to climb the ladder on the way. It's still a question if Wiggins will be a good blend to the Splash Brothers. And now that Klay is out, Wiggins will surely switch to Klay's position.

Warriors are still incomplete as a whole even with a healthy lineup as we know most West teams are now improved. They need some overhauling on their supporting cast. Either they will get another good role players or trust the current setup like what they did before that become successful.
I think it is not true because for sure they are part of the team will be competing in the top 3 in their seeds, healthy Klay Thompson is hella strong and the whole Golden state warriors have different vibes when their team is complete wherein there is chemistry between all of the members that makes them to have a better plays in the court. I already miss Klay and I'm excited that he can overcome his current injury and make a comeback in the next next season. In terms of Wiggins, I'm sure he can be part of the team chemistry wherein I'm expecting that he will have good performances in the next season.

If he deleted his tweet then that it's a sign that he's moving out of the Lakers.

Come on, Dwight don't make us guess where you really are going if there's already an agreement and said by your agent.

I agree stadus. Let's not jump to conclusions yet.
We need to see how their chemistry will be. They got a good addition to their team named Wiseman.
What if Kerr could maximize the skills of that young star? Who knows?
Losing Klay had such a large impact but I am not pessimistic yet as I have seen this Warriors team before in their down moments and then suddenly rising.
There's still hope.

Hoping he can live with the expectation although no need to aggressively do it.

Just play on his usual and be comfortable.
Correct. That pressure should be his drive to get stronger.
