Why would Oklahoma fans get angry with Westbrook? He is on free agent so he has the authority to not sign with the team and go sign the other. It's business man, and its in the rules of the NBA and not just the players decide with that rules.

You can't blame the fans, when Durant leave OKC, that's the same thing they felt but they also felt it with westbrook as fans really wants their player to stay if they like it. WB is the main man of the OKC for many years, the fans supported him although they are not as good as during the time of Durant and Ibaka, but when he decides to leave, that makes the fans upset. It's understandable that it's all business, but fans does not feel that way, they are more emotional when it comes to idolizing their best player.
I agree mate, that's why they are called fans, because they are fanatics with their players and their team. I'm sure that the fans will get upset, specially that WB didn't bring any championship to the city after a big hype around him.

But fans won't understand this for a bit, so it's going to be interesting to see WB first game in Houston uniform against OKC this season, it's going to be huge.

Some days I hate the circus of the NBA," Durant told the WSJ. "Some days I hate that the players let the NBA business, the fame that comes with the business, alter their minds about the game. Sometimes I don't like being around the executives and politics that come with it. I hate that.

Looks like he now saw the ugly side of NBA which is the truth.
Also, this aint just NBA fault but the media.
They keep on analyzing players and sometimes they go way under the belt.
They make rumors like they are truth and people believe it.
That is the problem for entertainers like him. He is a star so he became the apple of the eye.

Oklahoma fans seems to not get over to what he did. Westbrook did.
Now, Westbrook is in Houston. Will they also get mad with him?

What's the story behind this? Because who wouldn't say anything bad if something happened to him badly. Is it related to his recovery or salary that is why he is now coming in front because of this? Either way it looks like Durant is also affected on what the media is saying maybe to his recovery and how it can affect his prpduction in the court, he isn't that good from people criticizing him ever since he got injured. I got a feeling that its more team related and how it can affect Brooklyn.

NBA has control of the media, this is just how the business is run, player can't expect that they can do all they want.
When it comes to business, there are some corruption and players needs to live up based on the expectation of the people, Durant is a star, he cannot live an ordinary life, he needs to satisfy the demand of his job because that is what he is paid for.

Speaking of media, they are main reason of the success of NBA, without them the NBA will not gain global popularity, so let them do their job and as a player be professional, otherwise get out in the NBA as there are a lot of players hoping to be in the position of where you are now.

That's just how it is. It's a cycle and both are benefitting from each other. Players can't be onion-skinned as the whole world is watching them. And great players don't get affected. It's your game that will define you. Look at kobe, ai, bron. They've had their fair share of bad light. But they're professional players and they play with it.  That's how everything works especially in something that's globally recognized such as the nba.

Oklahoma fans should hate Westbrook, but I'm sure he will not get that attention because it's not Westbrook decision to leave the team so he will be totally off the hook as compare to Durant where fans see him abandoning Oklahoma.

Yeah, that's the ugly truth of NBA today, lots of politics, Just look at how Magic lost his job in the Lakers management and he said that there was a lot of backstabbing and identified  Lakers GM Rob Pelinka as the backstabber. So there's a lot of of politics behind.

"Stop getting me in trouble people. I’m retired asf! I love the game and you will still see me working out & teaching it but that’s to stay in shape"

-Dwade (@DwyaneWade)

To stay in shape - that's it. Smiley

I miss Melo news lol. Here's another rumor:

Another team now finally shown interest to Carmelo Anthony, the Los Angeles Clippers, but don't take the term "interest" into expectations since Melo is only one of the options that LAC needs to strengthen their second unit. Yes, Melo will surely come off the bench and no issues here since he already said that he is open for that.

As for me, I think this rumor will end up not happening, hope not as Melo still deserve a spot.

I love how Wade decide for his career, but for melo not to retire? I think it's time for him to hang his jersey more than Wade does. I mean he's past his prime and he is also prone to injury as a player. I don't think he deserve a spot, but as second unit maybe yes since only his experience is what he can contribute to the team.

Haha, Dwayne being affected with those rumors and news this is why I love this guy. Let him see the peace outside the court and do whatever he want.

I'll support him whatever the path he's going next and I hope he'll maintain his shape.

Good for him, but that doesn't mean the fans will loss their hope that DWade will one day come back and play.

Well, it's up to him to decide butt let's respect his decision now, he must enjoy his life after NBA and he has the money to do that, so his sacrifice during his time in the NBA is worth because he retires young with money to spent in vacation and enjoy the his full retirement.

He also have now a chance to drive his car collections per this video : 10 Stupidly Expensive Things Dwyane Wade Owns.

As I thought. He got tired and just want to enjoy all his hard worked earned money from his sweat and blood.
Why do people keep on forcing them and not just respect the decision.  Grin

And I thought Brooklyn is already giving him a spot. Yeah he still deserves it. He is still in his prime although unlike what he was in Denver.
Let us say he is in shooting prime of his career. Better than Carter and also the Grant Hill of the Suns who came back from a huge injury and just shooting the ball outside.
Melo still have the hot hands.

Back in Miami times Lebron and wade were super close and it was really looking like bromance. They were both great players but off court they were super close friends as well, Lebron actually wanted to mimic that back in Clevland with Kyrie but they both had too much ego to become second stars and Kyrie eventually left because of that. Lebron never had and will never have any more close relations with another player like wade again.

However, leaving all that aside, what could Lakers gain by getting Wade to their team, I know wade lives in LA now so he won't be playing in some far other place, its either Lakers or none for Wade for sure and right now Lakers have all they need, maybe get like 10-12 minutes of Wade during regular season not to tire the starters and bench too much? I doubt they would be willing to bring in Wade for that.

As a player, their life does not only focus in basketball, they also have a lot of things that they like to do especially with their family.

Definitely, smart NBA players are investors so there is life after an exciting NBA career like Wade. If I'm not mistaken, he has some endorsement or businesses which includes socks and wines. And yes, probably he just have a lot of time in his hands and just wanted to train and stay in shape. But it's cool to see them together blossom that friendship.
There's always life outside the court, smart players knows that and they are preparing with the money that they can use to open businesses it will helps them after their retirement, aside from that, they are also aware that career can instantly gone with a major injuries so better to have a good investment to make sure for their future. Whatever this DWade reasons it's still a good thing for basketball fans to see him taking this steps to stay in shape or there's another chance to him back playing.

If you get retired because you are old, than you will most likely better stay retired.
I think it's not about the age of a player, it's his own decision making whether he comes back or not, the passion of basketball is one of the reasons and not just money also. Like Wade, he is one of the highest paid athlete in the NBA with a net worth of $120 million as per https://wealthygorilla.com/dwayne-wade-net-worth/, so I he wants to just fully enjoy his retirement, he doesn't need to come back as he has a lot of money to enjoy it.

Wade is not old IMO, he is still athletic at his age, but he decide to retire for certain reasons that he only know.

Yes that is correct. And that is how every player should think. It is not a lifetime job and there is no retirement pay or whatsoever.
You are just paid to entertainment and when you cannot do that anymore you will be trashed.

I guess Wade is that wise to know what he should do.
While he is still young he could start a business and just rotate that money he made from his hood skill.
I dont think he is the analyst type which will take a job at ESPN or Fox.
For now, he could rest and savor all the money.

Who's a fan of Dwayne Wade and Lebron at the same time? these two really has a close bond together.

--> https://www.nba.com/article/2019/09/08/dwyane-wade-los-angeles-work-out-train-lebron-james?collection=news

And aside from they are really close as a friend, Wade moved to Los Angeles that's why he can be involved to LBJ whenever he likes.

But I'm more concern about this:

Quote
While Wade says he's "done" playing professional basketball, his trainer is making him stay in shape, "just in case something happens."

"I’m going to stay in shape because you never know," Wade said. "Never say never.”

He is not done yet.
Who knows if he's not yet done but I'm happy to see that the friendship of these two superstar is for real life. Unlike the other athletes that they'll just be together because they are teammates.

But once, one of them go away or moves to other team then the friendship is over.

There are reasons why people retire and depending on your reason you can make a comeback but usually you can't. For example, Michael retired while he was still young, I mean he came back but even on his latest retirement he was 40, which is not really that high for someone as talented as Michael Jordan but even he didn't played that awesome during that time, I mean surely he was much much better than 95%+ of the players and probably still better than some of the others as well but compared to who he was he wasn't as good as he used to be. Same with Magic, he wasn't retired because of his age, he retired because of AIDS and when he came back he wasn't that old but he didn't played that well neither. If you get retired because you are old, than you will most likely better stay retired.
