I think it is quite the opposite, Pacers are a fine team there is no doubt about that, but Lakers are doing wonders at a stacked Western conference, and that's a very good thing for them, they are looking like they are one of the better teams in the league.

I think Pacers will lose and I think Lakers will win this one. I am sure of just one thing and that is the fact that there will be a lot of betting on this game without a doubt, it is going to be quite obvious and we are going to see a lot of changes for sure. I think it should be important to remember that we are talking about Lakers and Lebron here, when it is the finals Lebron may not have wonderful record, but he does have plenty of rings to show how he plays much better on finals.

And you are not wrong about it, the Los Angeles Lakers became the In-Season Tournament Champion so Congrats to the LA Lakers, in that game the Indiana Pacers also did a great job but for sure the Lakers are just that good of a team, and Anthony Davis is so much Crisp in that game getting a double-double of 20 rebounds and 41 points that was an excellent game for him and an excellent game for the Lakers actually with the help of Austin Reaves 28 points and Lebron James double-double of 11 rebounds and 24 points it is all clear who has won this game,

Tight match between the Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder. Stephen Curry sunked a big three but Draymond Green committed a terrible foul on Holmgren. I was suspicious Holmgren would not shoot all three free throws with the tension and being a newbie however he made it and the match went extra time. Holmgren is my rookie of the year, in overtime, he hit a big three and then made an important assist in their last position, preventing them from another overtime.

Thunder astonished me this season for positioning themselves at the upper ranking. Be that as it may, we are going to find out soon if they are truly becoming one of the teams to beat.

I think Draymond Green is getting out of hand and in the heat of the match the game is getting so much on him, and for sure because Chet Holmgren is running towards the rim and Draymond was I think not pushing but a light push in my opinion but because Andrew Wiggins was there it looks like Chet Holmgren is just acting like he was push hard by Draymond, but it was all tactical illusion in Holmgren's part,

Yes! First of all, Congratulations to the LA Lakers team. That's one heck of a game.
Anthony Davis. This guy always steps up his game when there's something on the line and I hope he will keep that same kind of intensity when they go back to the regular season. His such a great player but it's mostly wasted with injuries.
The 4 blocks that he had were the game changers, he kept on pressuring anyone that would try to attack the paint.
What made them win tonight was all because of defense. They kept Haliburton in check, they did not let him heat up and that's the key to defeating the Indiana Pacers. Without their leader boosting them in the offensive end it's difficult for them to be energized too.

Anyway, I still love the Pacers despite this loss. They are a young team and this will be a good lesson for them. Experiencing this type of pressure will help them out when they enter the playoffs. Haliburton especially, should watch the tape on how he was shut down by the Lakers and he might learn something from it.

Congratulations to the first winner of the NBA Cup. The Los Angeles Lakers.
I bet Lebron James will get that In-Season MVP.
Edit: And yes he did.

For sure the Indiana Pacers did well and Tyrese Haliburton is the main man for them if you look at the Tyrese Haliburton special against the Boston Celtics and the Milwaukee Bucks in those In-Season Tournament games he was always over the top in his performance in this Los Angeles Lakers game he must have been tired or something but still the Pacers did a great thing in this game,

But for sure the Indiana Pacers will do a great job in the regular season for sure and who knows they might do a great job in the playoffs and gets into the finals for sure because I also think that they have a huge chance of getting into the finals,

It has been kind of crazy seeing the Chicago Bulls payout so well without Zach Lavine.  For whatever reason their chemistry just seems to be so much better with him not out there on the floor. I’m not really sure what it is, or if it’s really more so just a coincidence..but it leads me to believe they’ll be pushing it trade Lavine harder than ever. Who’s getting him!?
I really want to see Zach LaVine traded to the Utah Jazz for either Jordan Clarkson or Lauri Markkanen, plus THT. I think this would be a good trade. Both of these players/team are struggling this season perhaps due to a lack of chemistry as you mentioned. Also both teams are currently standing 12th in their respective conferences.

Trades can be unpredictable but this one seems worth exploring for both sides. What do you think the impact could be on their overall performance and standings just incase this one happens?

The great question about this win is this; do we think Lakers are good enough to try for the finals for real? Or did nobody cared about the title here?

The Lakers are in good shape as long as AD is healthy. Last season when they played against the Nuggets during the WCF, their bond wasn't so solid as lots of his teammates just came over in the middle of the season, If you remember the trade between Westbrook and a bunch of players. This season, though they didn't start well but as long as they are complete and healthy, they should be one of the best contender for the championship trophy.

That is a very important question, Lakers looked like a great team when they won this in season tournament, but will they be able to go for it at the end of the season as well? I am not saying will they win, of course they may not, a team that is great right now may have many issues by the end, like injuries and fatigue, all I am asking are they contenders in your eye? Are they one of the teams that may win the title? To me, they are definitely good enough to have a chance, maybe not that easily but they do have a chance in my book but many do not think so.

Congrats to the Lakers for winning the in season tournament (down to the final 2 minutes). LeBron seemed like he wasn’t going to let this honor slip away from him as it was his chance to do something Jordan never did. You have to give the credit for this one to Anthony Davis though who had a monster game. Looks like he’s going to end up with around 40 points and 20 rebounds.

Maybe the Heat? They wanted to get another superstar to help Jimmy on their campaign and I think Lavine would be best suitable for them. The players that could have been traded if the Lillard trade push through, they're also the ones that will be sent for Lavine.

There's no reason keeping Lavine if he's not happy with the team, and as you have notice, the team played better without him, we know the answer to this.

It was quite the night yesterday and I think it was no surprise that Hornets managed to beat Raptors right ? Because the bookies were all over the Raptors victory but with a few minutes before the game the odds suddenly went down for Hornets from 2.9 around 2.2 and that is usually a great sign for that team.

Happy with my team Bulls to win and it was a morale boost victory that should bring another one against Bucks or the 4 winning streak for Bulls will come to an end but still happy with this run.

I think there was a little attraction to the new cup system and American public was hesitant to comprehend this style, yet I can see some excitement. The problem is timing, in my opinion. It was too early in the season to do this tournament. And it was too quick. If this was organized after the all star break, it would have been more exciting. Teams would take it more serious too probably. And most of the teams will have better team chemistry later in the season, so the games would be better also. The football and basketball cups like this tournament happen in much more weeks and it is better.

I take this first tournament as experimental, they will gather information about a lot of things from ticket sales to broadcast ratings and upgrade it to a better version. I just don't think it will work this way in the long run. For example the floor decoration needs a serious overhaul. There were floors that were both tiring for the eyes and prevented us from picking the players clearly. They should fix these as a priority. As for the timing of the tournament, I don't think it's a problem that it's playing early. After the All-Star break, the teams are already playing motivated, and this tournament will help them take the games seriously even earlier in the season.

Less than 2 hours left for final game but I'll miss it. I need to wake up early so this is another timing problem for us Europeans. Smiley

This defeat against Thunder was the umpteenth time because previously they also lost against Thunder.
At the start of the match the Warriors seemed to be playing well and even had 14 point lead but as the match progressed the situation was reversed by the Thunder who started to recover and were able to score more points.
But this defeat seems much better than before because they only lost by aexperienci very small margin of 2 points and for some reason this season the Warriors are really experiencing bad phase because they are losing more often.
We can see in the table the Warriors match history that they always lose more often.
If conditions like this continue for long time without any improvements and changes, we can be sure that they will have difficulty occupying one of the top ranks in the Western region standings.

Yes, in terms of turnovers the Warriors committed 29 turnovers, which is the highest record this season.
It was a winnable game by the Warriors but I don't understand why Green fouled the game who gave them a heartache on their previous match up. Chet was really a cold blooded shooter, may it be in the 3 point area or in the FT line, he was sinking those 3 shots like there was no pressure at all, I guess he really deserve to win the ROY.

While Chet is enjoying his popularity now, unfortunately, Wemby and his Spurs continues their losing streak.
Chet is definitely looking like the better of the duo right now, but I am sure that it's only for right now and it is not going to be sustained. The difference is that OKC is a better team overall than Spurs, and Wemby I think is better than Chet, but because Wemby doesn't have a team that is better, he is looking a lot worse.

When Spurs finally builds a better squad around Wemby, he will show the world that he is doing great and he will be a superstar, I think his ceiling is to get an MVP, he is capable of doing that one day when he gets better, it's his rookie season, Chet has been around for a while maybe still considered new, but he has been working out with NBA coaches and doctors to get to this point, not the same thing. So that is why we should be considering the situation a little different, it is not going to be all that easy and we may end up with a result that could definitely see Chet be better this season by the end, he already is right now.

Yeah, the Spurs have already lost 16 games in a row. It's funny, but that's not even the worst result since the Pistons have already lost 19 games in a row. In any case, it was expected that the Spurs would be uncompetitive this regular season because their roster is too young and inexperienced. Coach Pop will probably need at least 2-3 more seasons to bring these kids up and make them at least a competitive team.
Coach Pop has been in the league for decades already, and I believe that he knows what he's doing. He knows that the Spurs can't compete for the title with his current roster, thus he needs one more high draft pick that's why he's kind of experimenting this season. I also believe that he already said it to Wembanyama that's why he doesn't care about losing streaks whatsoever, but he only cares about his development and experience.

Chet can get that "Rookie of the Year" title, but we know that Wemby is a generational player who has a generational talent, and I believe that in 2 years, he will be the face of the team. What the Spurs need right now is another high draft pick aside from those young players out there, and they're good to go.

As for the Pistons, I don't know what's happening to them. Sorry for my words, but they're just a disgrace. I don't know what's the problem with this team TBH. Consecutive seasons that they're at the bottom, but they can't even have good players on draft night. They got Killian Hayes which is a bust and they also get James Wiseman which is also a bust. I guess it's good that they got Cunningham, and Ausar Thompson, but they will not develop on that team, and they should be traded to develop even more.

I understand that it's hard to predict, but I suggest you follow your own intuition as this should be a close match.

In the last two games of the Lakers, they were -1.5 and -2, while the Pacers were both underdogs in their last two games. So most likely, the Lakers will be the slight favorites here. However, you can't count the Pacers out, as they are getting everyone involved. They are an exciting team to watch. Although I initially thought they were not consistent, beating the Celtics has changed my perspective. I've already told myself that they might advance to the Finals, so I wouldn't bet against them facing an experienced Lakers team, especially since the public is likely be backing the Lakers.
I'm guessing the Lakers will be favored by 3-4 points, but I would likely bet the Pacers and take the points. They seem to be playing good as the underdogs and have been really playing well as a team. If Haliburton is on point it will be a closer game than most think.

You are right on this. Odds are now available and the Lakers are currently -4. I think it's a fair line though, because although the Pacers had some great journey going to the championship, it's still the Lakers who are the better team looking at it's overall value since the experience is a big factor on this one.

Moneyline for Pacers, I have 2.58, this extra 58% is so attractive enough, so I'll take it.

Another heart breaking loss by the Golden State Warriors. Again, Chet brought the game to the OT from silly fouls of Draymond and Chet was able to shoot all 3 Free Throws. The biggest story here is the Warriors turnovers, they own the best record this season with 29.

Turnovers! Damn it. Wiggins was not playing like he normally plays. He kept on losing the ball or turning it over in a bad way. It's only Steph Curry that had been shouldering their offense with Kuminga's help, and Klay Thompson.
Anyway, they have a bad track record of losing against the OKC Thunder, the last time it went to overtime it also ended the same way.
Yes, they could've won the game in regulation if only Draymond Green had not made that mistake of fouling Chet Holmgren. I know their plan was to foul so that it would only be a 2 free throw game but Chet knew what they would do and so he jumped up and tried to shoot the ball. If I were in that position, I would just let him shoot and because he is rushing, he might miss it.

I wasn't able to watch the full game, but from my analysis I say that the Warriors are going to lose that one because of so many turnovers and it seems that the Warriors are at lost when they face OKC. I don't know why it is like that the they are somewhat a very different them when their opponent is OKC.

Perhaps we can call that they are the kryptonite of the Warriors. Chet again another great performance and so his name is in front for the Rookie of the year. Maybe Steve Kerr will have to make another chances in their lineup in the next game.

Green got mental collapsed on that sequence if he didn't do that maybe the result is different but it happens so there's nothing they can do but to get angry on why Green do such big mistake on that game.

For what we see on the performance brought up by Chet we can really say that he's more deserving to win the Rookie of than Wemby since he do much better performance than him. To unlucky for Wemby he can't get much support to his teammates that's why they are suffering from long losing streak and that can affect his ROTY run and I don't also think he can win that.
