Jimmy Butler said that media day is his Halloween Cheesy. Dude is just having fun at that point and I am sure that he is going to go back to how he was during the season but he just wanted to have some fun.

I am sure that he was upset that they couldn't get Dame, and they could have gotten him as well, all Blazers needed was some picks and someone like Herro, which would be fine when you are getting a star like Dame to be fair. In any case, the season is nearing and we are going to start seeing the new teams and have they are meshing together. Plenty of players changed teams and it will definitely be fun and dandy for the fans.

I think we should be considering it as something that would be a lot better if we knew who could win, Bucks to win the title seems the leading odds but I still think Nuggets are great.

Jimmy Butler just made my day. He made me remember those old days when the thing was just all about being emo.  Tongue
"cause tonight will be the night...." hehe.
Hahaha, "I will fall for you" nostalgic!

He definitely made a lot of people laugh with his new hairstyle. I'm pretty sure this will be used against him in heated games or during playoffs where trolling and trash talking intensifies. The good thing is that he's a tough competitor and has the game to silence his opponents.
He's a true competitor and if there will be some trashtalks about his hair, he's for sure prepared for it and he made that to get the attention of those opponents.

But then, these hairstyles won't do that much against his performance but we can really say that he has already won the hearts of everyone and that's already a champ feeling there.

How about this?

Media Day Jimmy Buckets. Grin Nice hairstyle.
I'm trying to figure out a Hollywood artist from a certain movie that he looks like. Was it from the Blade? Wesley Snipes? Cheesy
This is the first time I saw Jimmy have that kind of hair and it's somehow unusual. If he didn't wear that Miami Heat outfit, I might not recognize him.

Jimmy Butler is definitely making a name for himself with his hairstyles at media day.  I wonder how much longer it will be allowed to continue before the team takes action as I imagine it can be a bit of a distraction when they use those images during games, etc.  I personally enjoy it a lot though and look forward to seeing what hairstyle he comes with next year.  We'll have to wait and see how the season and next offseason goes before we can really make a decent guess.

Honestly, Jimmy Buckets is a genius not just inside the court but also in taking the hearts of fans and not.
They didn't take Lillard with them but they're still one of the contenders to go in the finals as they've been one of those teams that has been consistent every playoffs and finals.
I really thought the pictures on the internet about him were just edited and memes but no, they are real.

Just to stretch the details about the "MrBeast" news. I don't know why he picked the Hornets but this will be a good one for them.

I don't know exactly how much this kind of jersey-patch partnership costs, but I assume he probably didn't have much of a choice. Most likely, the more popular teams are no longer available to new sponsors because they already have long-term partnerships with big brands. However, it's really cool that an influencer like MrBeast can promote himself this way.

I'm just wondering what kind of expectations Mr. Beast would like to achieve with this kind of move. We all know that he is one of the most popular influencers already, so people already know who he is, and it would be easy for him to market whatever products or services he likes.

As for the figure just to have a slight idea about this deal, this is what happened.

He picked the Charlotte Hornets because that’s his home town team. Pretty amazing that he’s come so far as a YouTuber and is branching out into traditional advertising deals while having such a huge platform himself. He’s clearly trying to take his chocolate brand public and cash out huge, which is what I’d do as well if people were buying chocolate bars off me for $3 a pop.

I think you might mean Jamie Foxx. They look a little bit similar anyway but I think Jamie had a crazy hairstyle for some promo some years ago.

Oh yeah! Jamie Foxx. Thank you bro.
Jimmy also head those dreads last offseason didn't he. When he claimed those are 100% his hair, while laughing.
Guess every media day he tries to come up with something new now.  Grin

True. This is just for entertainment but I do like that he is thinking of something like that whenever media day comes. I mean, thumbs up for the effort.

Probably.
I have not checked yet the availabilities of these patches but I do know others like the Lakers have Bibigo, the Warriors have Rakuten, the Rockets have Credit Karma, and so on.
So I checked what the Charlotte Hornets' previous patch was and it is LendingTree. They already ended their sponsorship in January of this year.
Quote
Hornets fan union The Crown Club reported this week that online lending marketplace LendingTree is ending their run as the Hornets’ jersey patch sponsor upon the conclusion of the 2022-23 season. LendingTree is also unlikely to return as a Hornets sponsor in any capacity, the report adds.
https://larrybrownsports.com/basketball/hornets-dropped-key-sponsor-lendingtree/609756
Quote
Many users pointed out that the move may be tied to LendingTree’s recent financial difficulties. The company’s stock (NASDAQ: TREE) closed Friday at a price of $22.18 per share. That marks an 83.0 percent decline over the last year and a whopping 94.9 percent decline from their all-time high of $433.34 (achieved in July 2019).
Well, I guess MrBeast won the hearts (the wallets) of the Charlotte management and so they gave the patch advertising to him.

He said that he likes basketball and would love to support his home team through this brand deal that he's got with the Charlotte. There's no catch with that and this is also going to add more revenue for him as it expands the other fans of Charlotte's and those that don't know his feastables yet.

IMHO, it's like the typical support that he's giving to the team.

Yes, most likely top tier teams have already partnership in place and so they can't just partner with social influencer like Mr. Beast. But still a win win condition though. I mean if it will bring more money to the franchise as they will be exposed by Mr. Beast to his millions of followers to maybe they will have a good sell at the end of the season. And Mr. Beast has a lot of platforms that extend help across the US as he is also a philanthropist so again, Hornets team will always be there whenever Mr. Beast help someone or anyone.

As for the Warriors, there are reports the Draymond Green might be out at the start of the new season.

Quote
It didn't take long for an injury to surface, as Draymond Green recently suffered a left ankle sprain during a pickup game, as first reported by Jason Dumas of KRON4 and later confirmed by Green to Andscape's Marc J. Spears. Green said that he expects to miss at least a month with the injury, adding that he "dodged a bullet" and is pleased by the way his ankle progressing. On Monday, the team said he would be re-evaulated in two weeks.

James Harden skipped media day… The 76ers are finding themselves in quite a bind. Will Harden sit out the season? I can’t recall a playing having done that before over contract disputes. Maybe Pippen with his surgery right before the season…
Isn't that what Ben Simmons did? I am not sure about the details though.

MrBeast -- whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson -- will advertise his Feastables logo on the Hornets' uniforms and media backdrops for news conferences, the team said on Monday.

Yes, give me a chuckle seeing Jimmy with that kind of hair style, and some of his team mates are also laughing like Bam because they are somewhat confused just like the rest of us. Lol. He said that he is emo right now, and there are interview about him saying goodluck to Dame and the Bucks but he is still going to beat them.

However, I don't think that he will have that kind of hair during the game itself, it's going to bother him. So this is just maybe for publicity stunt and so we can talk about him with this kind of hair.

I do agree that its not going to ending up with trying to move it all the time. Kevin Garnett and some other people talked about it on their podcast and basically said that you do not get infinite wiggles. Any team that could get him will not want him because they will know that he may want to leave in the end so they will not want to pay much for him. Anyone who gets Harden and one that plays well too, would be happy to have him and should trade a lot for him, but at the same time they all know that Harden could be just making a big trouble for him and should not be really doing anything that would be reasonable if they kept doing that. So all in all his value is incredibly low and no team would get him at any point for the time being.

With the way he's showing his attitude, I think team owners are not willing to let their respective team to be break out just to
acquire him, if you are not sure with the commitment a player can bring to your team, then why bother to trade your players right?

I guess it will be difficult for him to find another team to sign him up unless there's another star who'll ask for a trade and have the same or almost
same value as Harden.

If there's none, he will be ending up playing with the current team who's handling his contract, else he will be penalized for not cooperating with them.

^ I don't know. But the indications that we are currently getting definitely do not suggest anything positive in my opinion. I don't know if he is going to sit out the season or not. I hope he will not do that. But at the same time, he is definitely not happy with the situation. Is it just me or does anyone else think that players right now are getting a little too cocky? As you said, we have not seen something like this happen before. At least I have never seen anything like this happening. Let's see what happens.
TBH, there's a chance that he might sit out knowing that he really don't want to play with the Sixers anymore.
He's the only one that's cocky right now. He isn't as great as Lillard, and no team wants him in their team that's why he isn't get traded until now. Lillard already find his home, while Harden on the other hand is still out there hoping that he will get traded.

His ego is just too high. He don't want to play with the Sixers, but at the same time, no team wants him. This will affect his value at the end of his contract. He has no choice, but to play with the Sixers. With only few days remaining until the start of the season, I don't think that Harden will be traded to another team. I guess I'll be readying my popcorn, and wait for the next chapter of Harden Saga. Will he get traded? Will he stay with the Sixers? If he stays, will he play there knowing that he already said that he will not play under Daryl Morey? Let's just wait.

From a braided hair last season, to now Emo one.
This will be his trade mark for sure. New season, new hair cut, and TBH it's quite funny knowing that hairstyle like that isn't as popular as it is years ago. Cheesy Funny hair.

Wouldn't it be nice if we start seeing Harden getting paid minimum vet salary or him offering huge pay cuts so teams would actually take him? I mean it's going to happen anyway unless he retires early but I still want to see it hehe. Being served some humble pie would probably knock some sense to other players who over value themselves.

I don't know why this surprised you since rumors of Blazers trading Jrue has started right after the Dame trade and Celtics has been mentioned as top destination mainly because of his defensive abilities.
I think what surprised me the most was Robert Williams III being traded considering how good he played last year. I thought he was going to be part of the Celtics team wearing a green jersey for a long time in his career since it's hard to find a center who can play like him, especially on the defensive end. It looks like general manager Brad Stevens is aiming for the "win now" motto. Their roster is probably the best one today when we talk about back-court players. JB and JT can save their energy if they have a defensive guard in their team, not that I am underestimating Marcus Smart when he was there.
I actually predicted that it would be the Bulls who would try to get Jrue Holiday since they are the ones who are desperately looking for a guard who can make plays.
Anyway, the trade is done so there's no use thinking about it anymore. But that's a sweet offer by the Celtics that the Trail Blazers would have a hard time declining. Cheesy
The weirder part is that Celtics already has a good defender guard, not like they needed Jrue for any reason at all and for some reason they gave a position that they were lacking to get a player that they were not needing. I believe that was a big big mistake but they are going to end up trying to see how it goes.

I believe that Celtics hasn't been good for a while and that should not really change anything for the time being, they will keep on being not that great. That finals run was a good thing but if a team gets as bad as they did after a finals run that easily, then it feels like maybe they are not really doing a good job of it at all. I know that life is not all that simple and maybe they will turn things around but I doubt that would be the case with trades like these, they need to do a lot better.

I can't remember a contract holdout because someone wanted to trade.  You watch him get blackmailed right out of basketball.  Owners aren't going to want to sign this dude up to a contract.  He better be careful on how he proceeds to a certain degree I think these owners have a gentleman's agreement of some sort for these types of things so it doesn't become the norm.
