We only see a few of those kinds of altercations in the NBA, and that adds to the excitement of the game, actually. Klay vs. Booker, there's no way I will side with Booker, even though he is the better player. Basketball is a team game, not an individual one. Booker may boast about his stats, but Klay will just remind him of his 4 rings. I think Booker needs to win a championship first.

If not for CP3, the Suns wouldn't be a playoff team, that's a fact.

Too bad KD is in the Suns this season and Booker couldn't prove anything as long as KD is there except by going into the NBA championship this season. anyway, if they can go to the playoffs and win against the Denver Nuggets if ever they happen to be fighting to get to the next round, then that would be a huge improvement for them because we all know after that, it would be easy games unless they gonna go against the GSW once again but this time without CP3 and that's the best game we will ever see in the NBA playoffs this season.

I don’t think the Warriors match up well against the Suns. I also don’t think the Suns match up well against the Nuggets. With all the super teams seemingly in the west this year, I believe the playoff bracket may be more important this year than in those previous. I still think there are probably only 6 teams that could win it all this year.
With Bradley Beal on Suns, I think it's a pretty good match up against the Warriors. But I imagine warriors beating Suns on outside shooting if Curry plays like a point god then it is over for the Suns with their weak Center. just saying.

Suns against Nuggets is ridiculous, Jokic will eat Ayton alive. I'm still rooting for the Nuggets this year!

Even if a team on the west manages to beat Denver this year, which could be done because most teams are not three peat type of teams and just win it once (look at bucks for example) but that doesn't mean that we are not going to end up with East teams just letting whoever is the new west team to win that easily. If Suns ends up going to finals this year, they would still have to play against the team from the east and they may end up losing that as well, so its never guaranteed. I am hoping that it would be good to see a bunch of teams trying to end up good, its not good to have bad parity and just good teams at the top, 1-2 good teams and rest sucks would be terrible.

Winning against the Nuggets, I would say that's a major success already because the Nuggets are the defending champions. Their confidence will be overflowing if that happens. Of course, we cannot expect that other teams will be the same as last season; the Warriors and the Lakers will probably improve, and that makes their journey still unpredictable. CP3 is a good facilitator. I don't know if their individual offenses (Durant, Booker, and Beal) would be enough to make the team stronger now without CP3.

Are you guys excited?

10 more days and the pre-season will start. October 5.
Dallas Mavericks will play against Minnesota Timberwolves in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Then on October 10, the Dallas Mavericks will fly to Madrid, Spain to play against the EuroLeague champions Real Madrid.

During the season, there will be 2 more games that will be played in different places and that is the Atlanta Hawks versus Orlando Magic, on November 9 in Mexico City, Mexico, and the Brooklyn Nets versus Cleveland Cavaliers, on January 11 in Paris, France.
I'm more excited about the drama around James Harden, and Damian Lillard than these games. Tongue
Kidding aside, it's always good to see the NBA being back again. For sure fans are happy, bettors are happy, GM's are happy, and of course the players are happy as well because they're back into business again as usual. Anyway, I hope that the fans who will be able to watch these NBA teams playing in their country will be happy as well.

Lol! I am more excited about Lillard and Harden too. Most of the time I don't watch or watch the games in full during pre-seasons. But it is good that they are back and are once again traveling overseas for their international fans.

Same here, I guess everyone is very keen on the drama between this two superstars, as to where they are going to land or if they will return to their current teams but perhaps going to sit up the rest of the season and what will the NBA commissioner will do after that, what actions will he take to help the teams itself.

There's a lot of news about Lillard once again. The Toronto Raptors is once again branded as the best team to take the veteran superstar. This reminds me of when Kawhi Leonard wanted out of the San Antonio Spurs saying he wanted to be shipped to a team of his preference especially the Los Angeles Lakers where rumors of him and Lebron James talked of uniting. It would've been a huge disaster for the Raptors if they failed to win the NBA championships since Kawhi did left the next season. Lillard also has the right to extend or leave his team after the 2023-24 season. But I am still hoping the Miami Heat gets Lillard before the start of the regular season.

Will be ironic if Dame went to Toronto and bring another ring with them? Same as what Kawhi did when he left San Antonio Spurs and have their first ring. So that will be special, but we will have to see about it, what will be the cost for Toronto? So yes, same here, I still wanted to see Dame with the Heat, him and Butler and Bam, forming their big 3.

Yeah, just one spark may lead to Klay and Booker being in the hot zone again where they will talk trash. When that happens I want to see how Chris Paul will react. Will he choose sides or will he just be silent and stay between them and separate them? So it's a game that I won't miss since they will only meet 4 times this season.

It should be that CP3 now being a Warriors is now on the side of Klay. Funny thing is that when Booker talked trash, the team losses. Just like in the playoffs when him and Luka did have their own rivalry and trash talking. But at the end of the end, the Suns has no answer for Luka. But now with KD at his back, for sure Booker will open his mouth more this season, I reckon.

But it's going to be interesting to see, Booker and KD against the Warriors maybe in the finals of the West and it's a hard playoff series. It's early though, there is still the defending champions in Nuggets that this 2 teams has to reckon.

It's a preseason opening, not as exciting as the regular season opening, but at least you can already feel that the NBA will be back soon. It's the time when we should start saving for our bankroll for the long season, and hopefully, we will end up profitable if we didn't during the last season. As a gambler, it's a test for us; having a decent bankroll will test how patient and disciplined you are in managing your money.

For gamblers, the NBA isn't exciting if there's no betting involved, so I took the opportunity to share some thoughts about betting.
Another season, another chance to make something out of it. I am not really betting so high in NBA but I'd like to see some good changes in my betting percentage of win when this season starts. It is true that we got used to making bets to enhance the entertainment factor of the game which I think is just fine especially if you are watching it every year. It's to avoid the boredom that happens for most of the NBA fans. Well, the NBA is also not hiding it, even their commentators are posting the odds before and after a game and even the over and under total and even advertising the gambling site that paid to be flashed on the screen. They know it, we know it, betting has been the norm in the sports industry today and they can also take advantage of it.

Season openers are kind of intriguing.
LA Lakers versus Denver Nuggets - teams who played the Western Conference Finals

It would be interesting if it's a regular season, but it's just a preseason, most likely star players won't play, or will only have limited minutes.

But I'm still excited though.  Smiley
It is the regular season. October 24. Check it. They will do the honor of the season tip-off.
It's not KD, but it's Book, and Klay that has a beef with each other. Well, I will not be surprised if Klay will do that 1-2-3-4 count again on his finger saying that he got 4 titles while Book has none. Cheesy Bragging rights, eh. Cheesy As for KD, and Steph, I think they're in good terms, but correct me still. I expect a high scoring game on this one considering that both these 2 teams have the best shooters the league has right now.

And with the case of Howard, he had a good time in Taiwan, numbers are good and yet his team failed. P

Sure he had a good time but he treated it like a circus.
He took more 3 points shots in 1 game than in his whole NBA career. Of course if miraculously hit some but yet the overall % was underwhelming, haha.

He had problems with players that had a similar built and height as him, even in Taiwan.
And as we all know, his team came in dead last, not even close to the next position.
I've seen some videos highlights where he struggles against a younger, taller, and probably stronger center, and sometimes he makes bad decisions because he keeps forcing shots. Yes, he also has the freedom to shoot threes. Howard really thinks that he is still in his prime, but if we look at his performance, he isn't the same anymore.

About the preseason. The first 1 or 2 games of each team will be exiting since the teams mostly play all their stars before shutting them down for the rest of the games.
Players that participated in the world cup ( it's not many anyway ) maybe won't play I guess but the rest should be locked and loaded I expect.

How certain are you that they will play their stars? Has it been a trend in the past? I'm just curious, and I'd like to know how you can say that.

2022-2023 season https://basketball.asia-basket.com/player/Dwight-Howard/63735

23.2 points
34.9 minutes
20 games

It's like he's back to his former self but we know the competition in Taiwan is not the same in the NBA. If he had played in major tournaments in Europe and still put up those numbers then teams would likely be more interested in bringing him back.

There have been many examples of players being unclaimed or underperforming in the NBA, but they have shown great results in other leagues. Same with Howard, his stats in that Asian league really look good, but the reality is that those stats should be divided 3-4 times to get a rough idea of how he could perform in the NBA now. So it's no surprise that Howard's stats don't impress NBA teams.

Do you think it will get physical?  Grin We know Booker has some heat against Klay Thompson and Steph Curry and now they are teammates with his former partner.

Yes of course. Also those gamblers who only bet on NBA games are excited to both gamble and watch the NBA. Not just the gamblers; real fans also who support their teams.

I don't know how the season opening schedule is made but yes the season opener to be quite interesting. I love the way they organized or made it. There will be a physical game for sure due to the issue you mentioned. Another question is who's your pick in this game? Me: I'm going for the Denver Nuggets, given their home court advantage and the fact that they are the defending champions!

As for the Suns vs. Warriors game I'm picking the Suns even though it's on the Warriors' home court. The Suns have a solid roster this season unlike last season when they had CP3. I know CP3 was the main reason they didn't make the playoffs so it's a good thing he's no longer with the Suns.

Nothing intriguing, and nothing surprising with these games TBH since it has been announced. You know what I'm feeling right now? I'm happy. Cheesy

Happy not because of the Lakers-Nuggets match-up, but the Suns-Warriors match-up. TBH, I don't see any beef behind KD, and the rest of the Warriors unlike his beef with Russ when he went to the Warriors. I think everything is good between them since we didn't hear any trash talks whatsoever between the 2.

Pretty much the case with Carmelo as well, I mean we still wanted to see him play, he was given that chance by the Lakers, but it was obvious that he is no longer in his prime. And so as much as his mind wanted to play, his body is not cooperating.

And with the case of Howard, he had a good time in Taiwan, numbers are good and yet his team failed. Perhaps the Warriors really didn't see him adding any value on a already experience team and he could be detrimental if he still had that attitude from time to time.
I never really thought that Melo was "bad" enough to waive though. I get that he is not in his prime, but you can't give him 10-15 even 20 minutes a game? Really? This dude is top 20 in the top scorers list, and he is getting the bare minimum you could pay to him, you think Lakers found someone that was better than Melo?

I have seen the season, they did not. If they kept him, nothing major would have changed and they would have done pretty much the same, have your starts, have your big names on the bench, but also have Melo do like 15 minutes a game off the bench as well and you would do fine. There would be garbage times when he would thrive as well. That would have been smarter, people should stop rejecting veterans with minimum wage.

Problem with old vets in the league is that you lock up money and a roster spot on someone who has a known ceiling in their game and likely going to get hurt somewhere during the year.  End of the bench guys and minimum wage guys ypu are looking for spark and energy off the bench.  I'm a Melo guy too I loved him in NY, in his prime his defense was suspect at the end of his career it was non existent.  If ypu can't play d you can't be on the court.

Perhaps it was his liability, he can't play defense, so although he can still play and give some points, teams didn't sign him for that reason, I reckon.

And yes, we are almost at the start of a new season, so for sure some of us could be very excited about it. As we can see our favorite teams and players and so we will begin to bet again.

For Dwight, it will be cooler if the Orlando Magic will get him and then retire his jersey, but it seems that it is not happening.  Cry

I didn't noticed that we've got a few days left for the pre season. Well, anyway this is just like a show match before the actual season starts.

And with Mavs, they seem to have a full load on their schedule and flying from country to country and that's an exciting match they will have against Real Madrid.
Same here, I didn't notice that the preseason will commence soon. This is good, though, because soon the regular season will start. We are going to see if the Nuggets will be able to defend their title and how the teams will perform, especially the Warriors and Suns, who made some significant changes to their roster.
Nuggets seems to be consistent for many years now with Jokic and I think that this time, they're being prepared by most teams so let's see if they'll have hard time or it will be like another easy finals to them.

And with the case of Howard, he had a good time in Taiwan, numbers are good and yet his team failed. P
He is still able to bring numbers in terms of tickets sales and that's what his team should be thankful about as that makes his talent fee there worth it for them.

That's probably it, as at his age, it's not likely he would bring a championship to a certain team. In fact, I've seen some highlights in the same league where other bigs from opposing teams have given Howard a major problem.
He's still a good addition like a reserve player and when he's needed, he's always there. We still can't move on with the possibility of Howard going with the GSW.

But maybe in the next days, we'll see a team willing to put and sign him on roster.
