This Olympic team will of course win it, but I guarantee you that it will be harder than they think, hell I may even say that they may fail to do it as well, we really don't know what's going to happen. We should realize that things aren't as easy as it looks, and we could potentially see them do something different, maybe it is going to be harder.

I think the best way to go about this situation would be just realize that they could just calm down and play slower, because if they want to play faster, most of these players are old, and they will not catch up with other teams, but if they slow it down, they are more talented than all others and they can get better results. Lets see what Kerr will do with this team.

You can always say that, as the majority of us believe in Team USA. However, I want some thrill, so I don't like seeing Team USA dominate every team they face. I want them to struggle a bit but still win the gold in the end. Or maybe I'd like them to fall in the gold match so this time a new country will win. Team USA has already won four straight— isn't it boring?

Check out the odds if you feel like betting.

Jaylen Brown said that Nike and its lobby were the reason why he was not selected for the US national team.
Jaylen Brown's last tweets he wrote;
@nike this what we doing?
Im not afraid of you or your resources
It looks like it's going to get messy.

What everyone has been patiently waiting for has happened,
Curry ➡️ LeBron alley-oop.
Now we've seen that too.

Nah, I don't think it's going to be messy, they already have a solid team base on their exhibition games against Canada and I don't think that this issue is going to affect them, it's true that Jaylen Brown being the MVP could be at least included in the roster, but they already made the decision and chooses his team mate.

As for the alley-oop yeah, it could be historic and if you asked Curry who's player that he is excited to play with in this team, it's Lebron James. At least though we will see this two play along side even for a short period of time as a member of the USA Basketball Olympic team.

Team USA has won their first exhibition game against Canada 86-72. A good start for the boys in red white and blue. Canada is one of their more difficult opponents so it’s nice they beat them by so much even though it was an exhibition game. I’m expecting to see an undefeated gold medal run out of them.

They will also play against Australia and Serbia at the Abu Dhabi showcase event in the coming days and then against South Sudan and Germany in London. I think none of these teams will pose a serious problem for the USA team. In principle, it isn't surprising, considering the number of NBA stars on this team.
Whoever manages the USA team doesn't want to mess around and will want to send the best of the best from the NBA. At the same time, none of them can be a real serious threat to them.

I am sure that they've learned from the past that every team should be taken seriously or else it might snatch a W from them in this Olympics.

That's why they need to treat each team as a good opponent and they won't belittle them. I'm not sure if that's the mentality of the former USA team in the past and that's why they've taken some Ls.

Ya, I think the US has a clear advantage and the only thing that can stop them is themselves. If they play their best and avoid injuries, they have no excuses. They make more than 100 times the salary of most of their opponents and have the best trainers and equipment in the world. Anything short of gold is a disappointment.

I don't know if this is the main reason why he was a Olympic snubbed and to rub it in, they already have Jayson Tatum and then get White to replaced Kahwi Leonard. For sure it's going to hurt him being the MVP for his season.
It's just his own speculation, and I don't think Nike has anything to do with choosing the players to represent the country, as it's none of their business. They are a private business that promotes their shoes with those NBA players; nothing extraordinary there. Brown is good, but there are probably other players in the same position that the coaching staff think would do better. They are just trying to form a perfect lineup, so Brown should better shut up and pray that the USA will win the gold.

Anyhow, good win by the US team, they are going to travel to Dubai if I'm not mistaken for another set of exhibition match.

Probably Canada is the second favorite behind USA to win the Gold.

Not France? Grin

I think it will be Canada as you look at their roster, it's mostly from NBA as well. Although France has a solid team with Gobert and Wemby, but it's not enough to upset the USA team. And I will say that they are the biggest wild card, being the host team.

But I'm seeing still the pressure on team USA to defend the gold. As for Jaylen Brown not making the team,

France is said to be the winner for this entire Olympics.  Cheesy
With all of these exhibition matches before the actual, most of them are going all out. I know that they know the drill to avoid further injuries but I don't wish anyone of them to be on that situation just because with all of these exhibition matches.

It's getting more excited as qualifying teams are now doing their best to represent their countries, I like the challenges being called by those super teams from EU and now Team USA brings their own versions of a super team, working with chemistries and as far the result of that game against Canada I guess they got something and will established that sparks from each other.

France is really a good contender basing from their performance though Canada is also composed of competitive players, we'll see who's going to be the finalist too early to conclude.

There are still plenty of exhibition games to be played before the actual competition. Let's just hope that no one gets injured so they'll be a healthy team during the actual competition. Team USA is undeniably the super team here; they dominate this competition and once again aim to win.

In the last four Olympics, it has been all Team USA.

The current ranking still puts the USA at the top spot. I think I agree with this because this is a better version of Team USA. They sent a younger team last time during the FIBA World Cup and they lost. But now, they have the best players, the veterans, so I think they'll do whatever it takes to win.

LeBron, Curry, Embiid, Booker, and Tatum are just a few names, but these players are already top-caliber. There's no way the USA will lose. I might be hyping it up a bit, but I'm just trying to be honest here with my opinion.

Edit: Looks like Jaylen Brown isn’t happy about being left off Team USA after all.

He blame Nike (major sponsor of the Olympics), for this,

Many questioned on why he is not in USA while he is the reigning MVP last season. This is really a major snub on Browns career and I think those people select a player for USA seems have a bad blood towards Brown that's why maybe he didn't get a spot on their National team.

Indeed a good win against Canada and somehow I expect that to happen since USA right now have strong line up then also they are favorite hot team to win a gold on this tournament. I don't know if Canada is next to USA since there are lot of stronger team than them. Also provably Serbia might be one of the choices of fans towards that matter.

He averages 13/6/1 and played 63 games last season. This is a healthy man and will probably add some strength to them.
Washington Wizards are aggressive in the trades and signs. I think this is a good sign that they want to strengthen their core.

Kuzma, Poole, Valanciunas, Bey, Kispert, Tyus Jones, and more. They now have a good core and a good bench.
Now the problem is chemistry. These guys should get together as fast as they can and build the chemistry during camp or however, they possibly could. They are a stronger team now and I bet the Wizards fans are a bit happy about the aggressiveness of the Wizards management.

Kawhi Leonard has dropped out of the Olympics for Team USA. Can’t say this is out of character. I’m sure he expected the same sort of treatment he gets in the NBA and likely didn’t receive special treatment to miss practices and games… So he decided to use this time to get ready for the upcoming season… Who will be his replacement?
It's said to be Derrick White. So, we're going to have 3 players from the Boston Celtics and all of them are key players.

Another interesting topic is that why Jaylen Brown isn't included despite winning conference and finals MVP. To be honest, I'm surprised by this last minute call off by Kawhi.

I believe Jaylen Brown is going to have offseason surgery, but I only glanced at the news article that I saw the news in.  That would explain his absence though.  I'm shocked that they went with Derrick White.  They did need another point guard in my opinion, but Derrick White wouldn't have been on the short list.  Maybe everyone else had vacation plans already lined up...

I'm not surprised at Kawhi's exit.  I was surprised he attempted to play on Team USA.  They Olympics have a tendency to treat NBA players like regular athletes at times and Kawhi doesn't seem like the kind of guy who is willing to deal with that.
I don't know much about that with Kawhi but he seems to be active during the practice and then begged off afterwards. As for Jaylen, I see. So, that's the reason probably that he's considered but then with his condition, he can't fully commit.

I'm not, kawhi really isn't the player everyone remembers.  He doesn't play as much of the season that he needs to be effective for his team.  Don't know the circumstances but the Clippers could have ended it for him.  Without kawhi the Clippers are cooked so he needs as much rest on that body as he can get.  Is it out why he left yet?
And he said IIRC, he's not surprised that Paul George is out of the Clippers and moved to the other teams.

Anyway, that was a good game against Canada.

Team USA has won their first exhibition game against Canada 86-72. A good start for the boys in red white and blue. Canada is one of their more difficult opponents so it’s nice they beat them by so much even though it was an exhibition game. I’m expecting to see an undefeated gold medal run out of them.

And this is the starting five of Canada: SGA, Jamal Murray, RJ Barrett, Dwight Powell, all current NBA players. So that's already deep and yes, this is a good gauge for USA on how good they are although this is just a exhibition match but the competitiveness is already there, James got trip and Embiid trying to put his physical presence in the firs quarter alone.

So if bettors, it's really hard to bet against the USA team, perhaps it could be we would look at the handicap to get a better odds as for the ML might not be that attractive and appealing to us unless we put a lot of money on USA.

Canada was one of the best teams last FIBA world cup, and to see the USA team going all-in with this Paris Olympics, all of them will just get crushed.
They might not be as dominant as the so-called "Dream Team" back in the 90's, but I'm pretty sure that this team will dominate whoever teams they will be playing. I mean since 2008, the USA have been the winners of the Olympics, and they want it to extend hence, they grouped their best players to defend their title.

Edit: Looks like Jaylen Brown isn’t happy about being left off Team USA after all.
I don't know the reason TBH why the USA team chose Derrick White over Jaylen Brown, but for me, this is a complete disrespect towards him. I mean he's the Finals MVP last playoffs, and he has been consistent all throughout the playoffs. I just can't imagine why they choose White over Brown.

Who is the coach of the USA team? Steve Kerr? The one who introduced the small ball, and he's focused on the three-point shooting, and it worked for the Warriors. On the other hand, White has been a consistent three-point shooter for the Celtics. I guess that's the reason why he choose White since he's an efficient three-point shooter.

I was watching some of Logan Paul’s podcast today. He had Kevin Durant on as a guest and they talked about a lot of different things. Not a whole lot of NBA specific talk, but if you’re a Kevin Durant fan then it’s a more personal than normal look at KD. They did a lot of joking around with ishowspeed too.

Edit: Looks like Jaylen Brown isn’t happy about being left off Team USA after all.
Who wouldn't like to be left off the the team USA? They should have include Jaylen Brown, the reigning MVP so it's like really a slap in his face for not be called to represent the USA team in this year's Olympics while his team mates, Derrick White got the call.

And perhaps Edwards wanted to set the tone as there are interviews of him saying that he is the plan A for team USA to score. He had 13 points and then Curry with 13. I do agree that Canada is also one of the favorites, and to see the USA winning against team, although exhibition has lay the ground work as how good team USA in this version of the Olympics.
