It seems that we've got a new record for the highest contract in the NBA history and that goes to Jayson Tatum with a $314-m 5 year contract given by the Boston Celtics.

--> https://www.foxsports.com/stories/soccer/jayson-tatum-reportedly-agrees-largest-contract-nba-history-stay-celtics

That championship was worth it and had increased his value. He might not have the conference and finals MVP award but this is probably par or even more than that award.

Exactly a kind of rewards that more enough even he did not win the FMVP he deserves what he's gettting right now, him and Brown bring that title together the investment for both of them might bring more title to this franchise, on my personal take Boston really wanted to make sure that Tatum will stay and continue his quest.

As per Woj,

End of splash brothers and the Dallas adding him looking for another championship run with Klay as their 3rd option. Not sure what the fans of the Warriors are going to react with this news. But obviously, they don't what Klay to moved out but it's business for this players and as we have seen, he has unfollowed the Warriors already in his social media account which indicate that he will definitely live.
klay really don't want to be bench maybe thats the reason he is struggling, steve is experimenting too much they started to fall apart after jp has been trade, they are running the play smoothly, its normal to not reach the playoffs and finals if almost all of the star players are injured every other games, certainly steve really want another ring and don't want to think via long term, GM's departure also added to the blow, he is responsible in making this team, while durant also rumors to go back to GSW which is a bit impossible, but we never know.

If they are unloading to free some cap maybe that rumor regarding to KD's coming back might take place, though we don't know till they announce it in public, but for now, all are rumors, but for me if Klay will be welcome to his new team and let him play with decent minutes for sure he can contribute decently.

Isaiah Hartenstein goes to the Oklahoma City Thunders.

Isaiah Hartenstein agrees to 3-year, $87 million deal with Oklahoma City Thunder: Reports

Main reason, as said is about New York Knicks inability to pay him what he should receive from them as per Shams Charania.
If not only because of Robinson getting injured, Hartenstein will not get his spotlight during the playoffs that's why he got this huge contract - but with another team though. It's a bit frustrated if you're a Knicks fan that your main defender during the playoffs, and the one that's hustling for rebounds every single game will just be given to another team just because your team doesn't have the cap space to pay him.

Now who will be relying on in terms of inside defense? Mitchell Robinson? Right now, they would either get a big that's a free agent right now and pay at least the minimum, or they will rely mostly on small ball team with Bridges or Randle most probably at Center position which would I consider as ineffective for them. As for the Thunder, I wonder if Holmgren will stay at the Center position, or he will be moving to Power Forward while Hartenstein will be their starting Center.

Still congratulations to Hartenstein for getting that huge contract. The Knicks really gave him a spotlight during the playoffs, and he played well during that time.
Knicks are known for this kinds of move giving away players that has a chance to be a star, the reason for injuries i think is too much time, and tom always push players to the limit, Randle has to go, inconsistent, Hartenstein just need more playing time, but knicks has lots of picks so for sure they will find another one but, they must seized the moment and maximize the team last year.

Yeah the Knicks couple only offer something like 70 mil over 4 years they are hard capped after that.  Was hoping he took a discount to be on the knicks but okc offered crazy good money for him good for him.  Knicks now need to grab a solid backup and someone that can hold the fort down if big mitch goes down for any significant amount of time.

They offer him something that he can't refused. So it's a big win for the OKC Thunder, I think they know that they have lack depth and that's why they have to get a decent center in Isaiah Hartenstein which is a decent pick. That could be issue if big Mitch goes down again, although he had also been offered a solid contract to become a Knick but not sure if he is worth that money.

For Jayson Tatum, it's not a surprised that he was offered a super max contract, we all know that he deserved it, although not the finals MVP, but for sure him and Jaylen Brown as the best duo and could be looking to repeat as NBA champion this new season.

That was never really in question.  He was always going to get the supermax, that is what you give your superstars especially one that just brought home another chip.  These numbers will just keep going higher and higher until they stop lifting the cap ceiling.  Good for him.  That Celtics salary is just crazy though now lol.  Amd now they are trying to sell the team! Lol

Since LeBron sacrificed by lowering his salary, can they successfully sign Klay Thompson?

This has been the rumor now about Klay going to the Lakers. I think this would really help the team. The Lakers are not a good 3-point shooting team, and with Klay on board, they'll have a real threat from the outside, as long as Klay gets his consistency. I'm really anticipating this news to come out. From what I've seen in the groups I've joined, they said that Klay is sure to land with the Lakers, but it hasn't been announced yet.

And with a lot of rumors online including this article, it tells that it will be happening soon.

And that is seem to be what about to happen when there are news like this --> https://www.silverscreenandroll.com/2024/6/30/24189707/lakers-klay-thompson-lebron-james-nba-free-agency-rumors

That makes sense if that's where he wants to go when he's tired of the Warriors and being one of the splash brothers.

We might see another duo or trio with him going with the Lakers, who knows? maybe that's where he is going but sure thing is that many teams would like to take his wing.

I don't think that he is tired being one of the splash brothers, they are still very effective as a team, but the problem is that Klay wanted a bigger contract, perhaps a max contract with the Warriors, but they doesn't want to offer him that big, or probably they have requested him to have a pay cut just to keep him in the Warriors uniform. However, it's business and Klay could be thinking that in his last remaining years in the NBA he wanted to get more money for his retirement.
Well, that might be really it that it's all about the money or where he wants to retire if ever but he's still far from that.

And the end of the day, it's nothing personal, just pure business between him and the Warriors and yes, he had his legendary time as a Golden State and even if he left, fans can't deny that he has help them win as a Splash Brothers.
Yeah, it's always about the money and they've got a very limited time for this kind of career and that's why they need to have the most depending on how long they want to stay or if the offers are keep on coming to them.

Aside from that, they also need to consider the taxes and that's lessening their take home pay.

This explains that it's only possible if Klay will accept a lower offer which I don't think would happen since there are other teams that are still willing to pursue him and could offer a better contract, probably not as big as his contract with the Warriors but closer to that.
That's why Klay is out because the salary that he'll receive is way out of his expectation and if there will be teams that will offer him lower salary.

I don't think that he'd go there. There could be some negotiations but it's always about the money why most of these players are moving from teams to teams.

Some are moving because of their option to move to another place that they truly like but mostly, money.

And that's why social media is going crazy and says that Klay is tricking the Warriors or even the next team that will get him. Sure, during his prime he was legendary and who wouldn't say that he didn't help the Warriors bring that 4 rings.

Also, it will be full circle, as his dad has played with the Lakers and it's going to be great to see him as Lakers and retire with them. But we will see what will be his salary. It's obvious that he will sign if the Lakers front office offer him good money.

And that's what the Spurs is lacking of, someone that can lead the team and with experience and age too. For sure that most of the players there are going to respect him. Compared to what with we've seen in the past that when Wemby's free and open and asking for the ball, he's not even given the pass.
At least the Spurs won't be pressured since they aren't currently a playoff team. With CP3 leading them and a good coach, the team should improve, as long as there's no problem with their chemistry. CP3 is probably the oldest on the roster, given that the Spurs are composed of young players. Now that they have an experienced and veteran PG, it's really exciting to see how they'll play next season.
Yes, there's not that much expectation during the 1st year of Wemby and now, this is a well planned addition by Coach Popo. I can't wait to see on how they're going to do with their first games since CP3 is going to manage it all and look after all of them inside the court.
The capability of CP3 of making the team better is not in question now as he is one of the best PG in the NBA. However, although I do not wish but I can't be confident enough that he'll stay healthy in the season. CP3 is already aging and he has been experiencing injuries that's why sometimes he is missing in some important games, hopefully it will not happen with the Spurs especially if they'll be in the playoffs.

While Paul George has signed with the Philly. His former teammate on the Clippers, James Harden will sign and go back to the Clippers with a 2-year $70 million contract.
Source: Reports: James Harden to return to Clippers on 2-year, $70 million deal[url]

PG's contract is huge, $212M for 4 years, that's $53 million per year, probably his biggest conract and he is blessed that after the serious injury he suffered he was able to come back and even improve his value.
Well, he deserve that. But it's known that all of the amounts that are projected and given to the players are always slashed with huge tax, agent's fee and other commissions that are taken from them. But yes, this is a big one and we can expect him to be with them for the next 4 years.

That's true, I think tax is the major deduction of that contact, however it's still a huge amount and PG had secured his future with another big contract. I know he'll do good in any team that he'll play but honestly, I have a little doubt if the chemistry will work between PG and Embiid.

KCP seems to be targeted by the Dallas Mavericks. This will be phenomenal if they can acquire him. He has a higher defensive rate against guards and they badly need that considering how they were lacking in defense and it surfaced in the series against the Boston Celtics.
But I bet he will be pricy and the Mavs might let go some of their bench.
He's going to Orlando as per rumors.

Not a rumor anymore.
https://x.com/wojespn/status/1807556473595085305

$66m. Ohlala.
That's what I said before, the Nuggets would need to give him a better offer if they want him back. KCP showed his value as a defensive player during their championship stint and after that.
Orlando Magic now just got stronger and I will probably bet on them in the Outrights for next season. They may have lost in Round 1 of the playoffs this season but they will come back stronger. Banchero is becoming a monster, the Wagner brothers are building chemistry, and others are becoming weapons either on the floor or from the bench.
Fultz, Cole, Carter Jr., Harris, and Suggs.
Their roster just got deeper now and they will become a problem in the Eastern Conference.

CP3 to the Spurs.
I guess that I was wrong with what I've said that wherever the wave is going to bring him, that he'll go there without thinking a lot and it's just for his remaining days in the league. Now, that's some extra vet really needed by the Spurs for Wemby.

I wouldn't be surprise if the Spurs will reach the playoffs next season.
CP3 love to play in a team that he can lead, and this is obviously the best team for him especially with Wemby being a guy who can dominate the paint and CP3 lob's to him would be so easy.

Great news for today, hopefully CP3's season will improve with this new team where no superstar (except the young Wemby).
And that's what the Spurs is lacking of, someone that can lead the team and with experience and age too. For sure that most of the players there are going to respect him. Compared to what with we've seen in the past that when Wemby's free and open and asking for the ball, he's not even given the pass.

With his experienced, he can share that to his young teamates and with the guidance of coach Pop I do see improvements for this team, though still not a contender with that current roster but as long as they will work it out with any adjustments and improvements that they need to work out, we might see them competing great this upcoming season.

Yup! after recovering from that injury, lucky for him that he can still sell his talents and sign a deal like that, but with that huge amount of money, the expectation is really high, hopefully Embiid will find that help that he needs.
