It appears that the odds for a Ginebra ML win are a trap, as they are struggling to find their rhythm and are not hitting their shots. While SMB is not leading by a huge margin, I predict that this series will be 2-1 after this game. However, I don't believe there will be a Game 5. If SMB wins here, then it's likely that Ginebra will finish the series in four games.
There's a reason for the celebration today as Ginebra managed to complete a sweep against SMB with a massive comeback win. The team's never-say-die attitude was evident in this game, and there will be no tomorrow for SMB. Ginebra can now rest early, thanks to the excellent comeback win they just achieved. Congratulations to the bettors who had faith in Ginebra and did not listened into the trap thing as the result confirmed that it's not.
This could be the biggest upset, and I didn’t expect SMB to lose like this, its look like they are not playing their game after losing to Ginebra. Congrats to Ginebra fans their who supported the team from game 1 to game 3, that could be a great profit already. Now going into the finals, TNT seems to be on a good spot as well and made a good challenge for Ginebra this time, this is so exciting to watch.  Smiley

They have made it to the finals once again, and there will be no sister team this time as Ginebra has swept SMB. Coach Gallent must have realized that they cannot be a championship team without JMF, and the organization must have learned that letting go of Arwind Santos and Cabagnot was not a wise decision. In fact, SMB began to struggle after these two starters were traded.

The match-up between TNT and SMB is expected to be exciting, but for that to happen, TNT must win Game 2 to avoid a do-or-die situation.

Gallent needs to work more in how to mixed players chemistries. They've got a huge lead but they did not manage to use the clock and maintain the tempo, not sure what happen but it was almost a win for SMB if they just limit their turnovers, not a fan of running attack and not moving the ball well, unlike with Gin kings the rotations really allow almost all players to hold the ball before attacking.

With SMB, 2-3 pass and after that they will attack or turnover passing the ball will be expected!

Congrats Ginebra fans especially to those who bet during live game after the first half x6 if I remember it right.

Yeah, Gallent is a rookie coach, i mean as a head coach in the PBA so things like this is expected plus his favorite player is out so he could do nothing about the situation. But we also give credit to Ginebra especially coach Tim with his never say die approach and most of all, ended the series right away without giving away a game that might lead to suspicion to the fans that it was a gimme.

I wonder if there was someone here who took that ML odds for Ginebra before the game or when they are down by double digit in the first half.

SMB can still rectify their mistake by making Fajardo the center of their offense, or perhaps by changing their coach. Although they are a decent team, they seem to struggle in finishing games and have even lost games that they were expected to win.

The game isn't as exciting anymore since, just like in Game 1, TNT has been dominating the match, making it difficult for Meralco to score. At halftime, TNT has a 26-point lead.

I believe the most exciting match to watch will be between TNT and Meralco. The series is currently tied at one game apiece, and while the first game was not particularly exciting, Meralco did manage to come back and win the second game against TNT, despite some struggles where they let TNT nearly catch up.

Meralco's strength lies in their defense, which they will need to rely on given that they have only a few outside shooters. On the other hand, they will need to hope that TNT misses their outside shots.
Game 1 between these 2 is a one-sided game, but the Bolts adjusted in Game 2, and because of that, they stole Game 2.

On Stake, the odds for Meralco is 4.20 while on TNT, it's 1.20. I don't know if it's just me, but I see the odds of the Bolts very attractive knowing that they won in Game 2. There's a chance that they might do it again in Game 3. I also skipped the first game, and didn't put any bets on there. I'll watch this TNT-Meralco later when I have free time.

Who will prevail? Meralco's defense, or TNT's Offense. Cheesy The winner of Game 3 surely will take the momentum on this series.

Those are certainly very attractive odds, but wouldn't you consider thinking twice before taking that bet? It's possible that it's just a big trap, and TNT may dominate once again in this game, just like they did in game 1. I hope I'm wrong because this series has been the best matchup so far, and I would like to see a close game.

I've decided to skip the first game because I believe it may be a trap, but I won't be able to confirm this until the game is over. Currently, the SMB team is offering +5.5 to the Ginebra Kings, which seems unusual to me. Although SMB needs to win to avoid elimination, they may not necessarily be the better team in this matchup. In my opinion, this line seems too obvious.

The only bright spot here for SMB is that they have not been swept yet in a best-of-five series, per the article that I have read so if you will bet for SMB now, there's a chance for us to win but personally, I'm not going to bite that trivia, I mean I will not bet for them tonight.

Ginebra 2.44
SMB 1.54

Might be a trap for the fans of Ginebra but if you really are a Kings fanatic then the above odds is worth to try.

Good idea, let's not assume that either Ginebra or SMB will win just yet, as it's possible that the referees may influence the outcome. Although the odds for Ginebra are attractive, we should keep in mind that they are playing against a sister team, which could potentially manipulate the result.

I don't trust SMB anymore. They seemed to be so frustrated in Game 2 that they wanted to hurt their opponents, especially the SMB import who was getting locked down by Brownlee. Sportsmanship was lost. SMB as a team has struggled big time. Their plays are so predictable by the Gin Kings, so most likely the same will be witnessed in Game 3.

I totally agree, SMB has not adjusted well since they lose Fajardo to injury. I know that they will lose this series but not by blowout, it seems that they are the lower seed than Ginebra seeing how they played.

SMB without winning is very uncharacteristic, they should play better in game 3.
Though rumors are already spreading about Ginebra giving chance to SMB to get a win, I'm sure SMB will go all out and if they win they should deserve it because they are able to beat Ginebra using their own great plays and team strategy. Too early to say that Ginebra will win over SMB, let's just watch and place a bet on a team that you think can win, for game 3 I will go for SMB this time.
I guess we can't remove that fact, if SMB wins the game it will somehow consider as "hulog" hopefully we will not see anything that will relate to that thing, I want to see them playing ball and play as a team, hoping that after TR7 not sure though if it's his real account that posted to pray for him to let him play will push coach Gallant to let him play.

Let's wait for the game and see if they will be able to extend the series and taste a victory against the Gin kings.

Game tomorrow, and we have the following betting odds.

SMB 1.75 vs Ginebra 1.97
This is the game where I think Ginebra will not give SMB a chance to win anymore. The odds are probably just a gift, as Ginebra is a slight underdog despite their very dominant performance in Game 2. I don't really understand how bookies arrive at these odds because if we are not thinking of the refs' possible intervention on the outcome, SMB should be at least +5.5 now.

TNT 1.25 vs Bolts 3.55

If TNT's import is still not at 100%, then I guess Meralco might have a chance to upset TNT. I will just wait for the live game and probably bet on Meralco if they show the same confidence they had in Game 2.

Ginebra is getting better and better as they have also added players who can shoot outside and defend at the same time. A good example is Malonzo and Gray. They are tall, but good shooters from outside, and they are also effective at scoring in the paint.

I have a big feeling that Ginebra will continue to dominate every season. They might break records either in the All-Filipino Cup or conferences where imports are allowed. I don't know if Brownlee will be allowed to play in the All-Filipino Cup, but even if he isn't, I still believe that Ginebra is the best team. Everyone is improving in that team, and we can also notice the improvement of C. Stand. That guy could be the next JMF.

There's a high probability that it will happen based on how they are playing now. We thought that they would have a problem since they lost LA Tenorio, but it didn't happen as they are still a very dominant team. They didn't give SMB a chance to even make it a close game. Of the last two games, it has always been the Gin Kings who have been dominating, although SMB had a decent run in Game 1 to make it a close game, but the Gin Kings kept their composure and were still able to successfully secure the win.

Now, if TNT advances (which is likely), I think the only chance they would have to win is if the refs favor them a bit.

Also, I don't like to see Pogoy struggling on offense, especially on the three-point shooting, as that is their main weapon.

TNT had a chance to win the game if only Rondae Hollis-Jefferson was able to make both of his free throws in the dying seconds of the 4th quarter. The game was pushed to overtime and the Meralco won the game. It was a good game overall and props for TNT for making a comeback after a huge deficit and making it a close game in the end.  It is now a tied series. I thought this will be TNT all the way but Meralco proves that they can give TNT a good fight. I wonder what the odds for the next game will be.

After winning game 2, I might assume that bookies will give TNT a decent odd I mean they will still the favorite here but unlike with game 1 and 2 which they've got a lesser odd compared to Meralco who's being an underdog and those who trust and bet for them during a game with a ML for sure enjoy the outcome.

No available odd though, but if my observation will be right, I will take TNT to win game 3 or hopefully the handicap will not be that high.

I agree with you that TNT should have decent odds, and I'm sure everyone will be betting on them. I think the problem here is the inconsistency of their import, who had some words before about being challenged by Brownlee. However, I don't think he can beat JB. I heard during the game that he was injured, and that's probably one of the reasons why he has not contributed much, unlike in Game 1.
TNT's import isn't that explosive like the other imports out there who is scoring 30+ points and shooting threes. What's good with him is his perimeter shooting and his ability to draw fouls (he took only 11 free throw attempts on Game 1, but a whopping 20 free throws in Game 2). However, even though their import isn't that explosive offensively, he has enough help from the star-studded locals of TNT thus, they are getting some wins. Put him on an independent team, and that team will suffer more.

Now with regards to JB and RHJ beef, I don't also think that Hollis-Jefferson has the capabilities to beat Brownlee. I mean in all stats, Hollis-Jefferson might have better stats, but in terms of impact on his team, I believe Brownlee has more impact than Hollis-Jefferson. Nevertheless, it's good to see these 2 teams battle for the title in the PBA Finals. Anyway, I also think that TNT will get Game 3, but if McDaniels will be that explosive again like what he did in Game 2, and Newsome will play better on Game 3, I think the Bolts can take Game 3. Well, let's just watch how will it goes. Smiley

That's correct. RHJ is just trying to hype things up, but in reality, he cannot beat Brownlee. Besides, they are still in the semis against Meralco, which is very capable of beating them. Import McDaniels is unstoppable in the paint, so if he contributes big numbers and RHJ shows inconsistency, then the anticipated matchup between TNT and Ginebra might not happen.

I think TNT's import complements how the local plays. He does not need to be the imposing import since the locals can very much carry themselves in matches. What is good about this import is he gives TNT a good rotation on their basketball. He has good chemistry with the locals which is evident on how good they are playing together.
It's because Brownlee is always involving his teammates. Aside from being a consistent scorer, he's not just focused on it but rather taking advantage of his teammate's respective role specialty. It's the same reason why Brownlee is even more preferred by most PH basketball communities to be the primary naturalized player in Gilas compared to Jordan Clarkson.
In short, both the imports of Ginebra and TNT are contributing with their respective teams in their own way. Both of them had their own triple doubles this season, and Hollils-Jefferson is the first import that got back-to-back triple doubles since Terrence Jones back when he is the import of TNT.

As for Brownlee, I agree that he always involves his teammates. You can also see him playing with passion because in every game, he is always giving it all whether it is a regular game in the elimination or during the playoffs. Overall, both imports of these teams are complimenting the local players in the best way possible

Looks like there's no chance for SMB to bounce back at the series. Ginebra is currently on the highest level. Their experience beating the dominant EASL foreign team, Bay Area Dragons, really turned them into a team-to-beat in the whole league.
I'm an SMB fan (I said it a hundred times already I guess Cheesy), and even though they will lose on this one, I will not join the bandwagon Cheesy. On the other hand, Coach Gallent isn't backing out at all despite his team down 0-2, and I don't think that the Beermen will be swept on this one. I believe that they will win Game 3, and will lose in Game 4. Beermen getting demolished during the EASL, and Fajardo getting injured really hurts the whole SMB in terms of their morale, and their defense as well.
