Ginebra is getting better and better as they have also added players who can shoot outside and defend at the same time. A good example is Malonzo and Gray. They are tall, but good shooters from outside, and they are also effective at scoring in the paint.

I have a big feeling that Ginebra will continue to dominate every season. They might break records either in the All-Filipino Cup or conferences where imports are allowed. I don't know if Brownlee will be allowed to play in the All-Filipino Cup, but even if he isn't, I still believe that Ginebra is the best team. Everyone is improving in that team, and we can also notice the improvement of C. Stand. That guy could be the next JMF.

I mean in all stats, Hollis-Jefferson might have better stats, but in terms of impact on his team, I believe Brownlee has more impact than Hollis-Jefferson.

It's because Brownlee is always involving his teammates. Aside from being a consistent scorer, he's not just focused on it but rather taking advantage of his teammate's respective role specialty. It's the same reason why Brownlee is even more preferred by most PH basketball communities to be the primary naturalized player in Gilas compared to Jordan Clarkson.

Looks like there's no chance for SMB to bounce back at the series. Ginebra is currently on the highest level. Their experience beating the dominant EASL foreign team, Bay Area Dragons, really turned them into a team-to-beat in the whole league.

That's right, due to good chemistry, Brownlee has already learned the perfect formula to involve his teammates. He is not solely carrying the team like when he was still new with the Gin Kings. This development came from being a naturalized player and an import at the same time.

TNT's import isn't that explosive like the other imports out there who is scoring 30+ points and shooting threes. What's good with him is his perimeter shooting and his ability to draw fouls (he took only 11 free throw attempts on Game 1, but a whopping 20 free throws in Game 2). However, even though their import isn't that explosive offensively, he has enough help from the star-studded locals of TNT thus, they are getting some wins. Put him on an independent team, and that team will suffer more.

I think TNT's import complements how the local plays. He does not need to be the imposing import since the locals can very much carry themselves in matches. What is good about this import is he gives TNT a good rotation on their basketball. He has good chemistry with the locals which is evident on how good they are playing together.

Now with regards to JB and RHJ beef, I don't also think that Hollis-Jefferson has the capabilities to beat Brownlee. I mean in all stats, Hollis-Jefferson might have better stats, but in terms of impact on his team, I believe Brownlee has more impact than Hollis-Jefferson. Nevertheless, it's good to see these 2 teams battle for the title in the PBA Finals. Anyway, I also think that TNT will get Game 3, but if McDaniels will be that explosive again like what he did in Game 2, and Newsome will play better on Game 3, I think the Bolts can take Game 3. Well, let's just watch how will it goes. Smiley

It will be exciting to watch if these two teams get into the finals. Though I think Brownlee have a bigger advantage since he have been with the Gin Kings for a long time already. They know how each other plays very well already. Though RHJ does show too much, I think since this is a team sports, they can give Brownlee and the Gin Kings a good fight.

The comparison will be more notice if TNT and Gin kings will meet in the finals, I mean Brownlee has been a crowd favorite, and he doesn't just get that because he was in Gin kings uniform but he earned that respect and love from the fans because of what he do and the help that he bring for this team.

In terms of game 3 between TNT and Bolts, both are capable as they've got players who can produce good offense and push their way to win games. It's already semi-finals, so what we expect?

Both teams, even a sister company, will try it hard to win and push their way to the finals.

TNT had a chance to win the game if only Rondae Hollis-Jefferson was able to make both of his free throws in the dying seconds of the 4th quarter. The game was pushed to overtime and the Meralco won the game. It was a good game overall and props for TNT for making a comeback after a huge deficit and making it a close game in the end.  It is now a tied series. I thought this will be TNT all the way but Meralco proves that they can give TNT a good fight. I wonder what the odds for the next game will be.

After winning game 2, I might assume that bookies will give TNT a decent odd I mean they will still the favorite here but unlike with game 1 and 2 which they've got a lesser odd compared to Meralco who's being an underdog and those who trust and bet for them during a game with a ML for sure enjoy the outcome.

No available odd though, but if my observation will be right, I will take TNT to win game 3 or hopefully the handicap will not be that high.

I agree with you that TNT should have decent odds, and I'm sure everyone will be betting on them. I think the problem here is the inconsistency of their import, who had some words before about being challenged by Brownlee. However, I don't think he can beat JB. I heard during the game that he was injured, and that's probably one of the reasons why he has not contributed much, unlike in Game 1.

This is a very entertaining game that has gone into overtime. Let's see who will win. The Bolts have been playing hard tonight and they want to even the series. It looks like they will be able to do it in the OT. Good luck to all of us bettors.

Edit : And Meralco able to even the series. It's the import of TNT who are missing free throws and Pogoy is missing a lot of open 3 points.

I think it's normal for SMB to need to win Game 2 so they won't be down 0-2 going into Game 3. Unfortunately for them, they still lack offense, as seen in Game 2, and their import is not contributing much, thanks to Justin Brownlee's great defense.

I guess this series might end in Game 3 as Ginebra will make sure to rest early.

JMF's absence is a big loss, and it's a tough experience for Coach Jorge Gallent. Maybe they could bring back Coach Leo Austria, who is a master at maximizing JMF.

Gin kings system over dominated SMB in this past two games 2-0 with greatness in front of the fans, for sure those who support them in watching live games are really enjoying as the value for the money they spent to buy the ticket was being paid back by how Gin kings played, not saying that I'm giving it up for my favorite SMB but we can't deny the fact that with the entire squad of Gin kings with Brownlee inside the lineup.

This team is really hard to beat. We may see TNT vs Gin kings in the finals, which really balance for me if they will be the one that will
play against each other, not offense with Meralco's fans as they win the game and tied the series, but personally I would like to see TNT as they are also composed of powerhouse offensive stars.

Good luck!

The combination of Brownlee and Standhardinger is just too much for the SMB to handle. Standhardinger is most of the time being defended by Tautuaa, and he can't defend him because of CStand's craftiness when it comes to shooting. I mean we've seen him shooting some circus shots and some unexpected shots. No wonder why he is currently the leading MVP candidate. Both CStand and Brownlee got 32 points while Brownlee is just 3 assists away from getting that triple double.

In Game 3, expect the Beermen to win. It's not a certainty, but I don't think that the SMB will just let themselves get swept against their sister team.

As for the first game, I can feel the frustration towards Hollis-Jefferson's face because of his missed free throw in the dying seconds of the game. He has the opportunity to take the lead in the final seconds thru 2 free throws. Missed one and the one went in to tie the ball game then it went to overtime. I mean what if he didn't miss that free throw then they are now leading 2-0, but instead that missed free throw made the series tied at one a piece, and that's the first loss of Hollis-Jefferson this season.

McDaniels is just a monster on this game scoring 39 points with 20 rebounds as well. Newsome isn't having a good night as well scoring 5 points, but Black scored 28 points. I just hope that Hodge is ok after that not-so-good fall in the final seconds of the game.

Can you believe the odds?

The SMB vs ML odds are very interesting. I mean, SMB is down big, so they should at least be at 3.00 odds. I don't understand, it looks like someone is expecting a miracle tonight and wants SMB to beat Ginebra.

Meralco Bolts won the over time they do a good run and a tight Defense made their day good and happy. For the TNT tropa they have already a chance to win the game if the last two free throw in the final seconds will shoot but sad to say only one and turn into overtime. Now the current standing is 1-1 which pretty good for both teams to make an adjustment to became a stronger team in their upcoming 3rd game. Congratulation for the winners who but meralco.
Another OT win for Meralco, its good to recover my losses in game 1.
The way Meralco play the game tonight is deserving of the highlights, even playing against the stronger team they prove to be a good one as well. Looking forward to Game 3 and will continue to bet in Meralco, I know it will be more worth it in game 3.

It's a great start for Meralco so far. Their offense is clicking, and it's a high-scoring game. This is different from Game 1 where TNT fully dominated the game. This time, Meralco is also running and has improved their offense so far. They have no more hesitation on their end, and they seem to be in the right chemistry. Let's see if they'll be able to even the series.

End of the first half and Meralco is leading by 10 points, 59-49.

Yeah, great game so far by the Bolts especially McDaniels who now has registered 18 big points and 12 rebounds but don't know if they can sustain this run so i'm taking the ML odds now TNT @2.25.

I definitely agree with your pick. I also trust the TNT to come back and beat the Bolts. Meralco was lucky in the first half, but once TNT's shooting is on rhythm, they can come back and might even win in double digits.

As of now, TNT is already leading the game with 72-68 score.

edit:
lost my bet here as Meralco defeated the Katropa via overtime with a score of 122-117. Those missed free throws by TNT haunted them, they could have beaten the Bolts by a margin of 3 or 4 but nevertheless, the win here of Meralco make this series an entertaining one.

Did they change the time of the first game? I thought it would start at 3:00 P.M., just like Game 1. But it's okay, at least Game 2 gives viewers enough time to watch since it will start at 6:45. I have a feeling that it's going to be a close game and could possibly go into overtime.

As for the Ginebra vs SMB game, which team do you think will win?
