let's get realistic here, TerraFirma is not a team a player would want to play because it's a trash team and players are not as motivated when they are playing on a big team like Pangilinan and Cojuangco owned teams. PBA is just being monopolized, that's the real score actually, that's why I understand why players are upset when they get traded in a weak team.

That's the reality in our beloved PBA  Grin. Every trade has its own drama but fans/community can do nothing about it even if we rant on social media, that will not still have an effect on the decision of Willie Marcial.

In this case of Javy and Gray, i could that Terrafirma really needed guys that could help their campaign ASAP which they could not get from Gray as he is suffering/recovering from an injury while Ginebra could wait for his return as they won't need him as they have reliable guys on his position. Fair trade for me.

We will eventually find it out who wins the trade once the season starts. It will start next month, so we better prepared our bet for that as for sure everyone will be putting their bets again. It's a long break, but the good thing is that everything is back to normal already.

That's right because according to the news, the new season will start on June 5 and it's just a few weeks from now. I'm not so familiar with the formate? What will be the start of the season? is it all Filipino Cup?

I think it will start with all Filipino cup.

As we can read in the news, https://sports.inquirer.net/460842/pba-back-to-three-conference-format-for-season-47

Quote
The Philippine Cup, the pioneering pro league’s centerpiece tournament, is pencilled to begin on June 5. It is expected to run, barring any hitches, until September 2.

Also, there's no news regarding the arrival of imports, so we can assume that it's really an All Filipino Cup.

You will get upset because you didn’t expect to be traded right away, but that’s ok and we should remember that this is PBA and we know how money works it.

Javi is still a good player, he should be more motivated to play and prove that he more worth it so by this he can increase his value and maybe in the future Ginebra will get him back. He’s still young and very talented, this can be a good start from him.

Feel bad for Javi Gomez de Liaño. After being drafted by Ginebra he was traded right away to Terrafirma DYIP.

Trades are usual but what I like to point out here is that Javi even tweeted that his dream was playing at Ginebra and it happened for real. Even Coach Tim Cone has a lot of good words for him. But later on, he was shipped to Terrafirma as this team requested him according to Coach Tim.

But he's in the right team for me. He will have more minutes in Terrafirma compared to Ginebra which already has lots of Guards and Forwards. He should show Ginebra what they give up.
He even posted after he got drafted, but days after being drafted, he got traded.
Well, Coach Tim can't control the management because it's out of his control, so he can't do anything about the trade.

Nothing new for me since we've seen SMC doing some unequal trades in the past already. The only problem that I see for Ginebra here is that, what if Gray will not be the same as he is before he got injured because it's an ACL injury. His situation might be the same as MPJ in Denver. On the other hand, TerraFirma got a three pointer and I think they need him just by looking at their current roster, but it would be better if they will get a big that will help them. Overall, I'm curious on how Gray will play in Ginebra.

They are not a championship team but just a farm team as per rumors. However, I don't agree that they are a trash team as a superstar could be born in this team, just like CJ Perez, he lead this team before and his good leadership was seen by a big team, and look where he is now, he is already playing with the SMB earning good minutes, sometimes he also plays as a starter, so I would say success does not only defend on what team you are playing with, it depends on your talent and how you are effectively using it regardless on what team you are playing.

absolutely you got the point mate no matter where a player being drafted at least he is doing his best for sure someday he will be known and became a strong and a good player in PBA. For me no matter where you belong even though in the lowest team but still you can prove that they will wrong team is just a team you can play what you are not because you are in the lowest team you are a weak player but without knowing that you became a star player someday if you will work hard.

Just a small update.

PBA braces for compact 47th season with return of three-conference format

Quote
THE Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) returns to its regular three-conference format for the coming 47th season that kicks off starting June 5.

Next month PBA will resume, so the fun will resume again.
I can't wait to see the PBA because not only I enjoy watching it, I also enjoy betting on it.

Same with you, not just enjoying the game but it added additional ways to bet. 2 more weeks and the PBA will resume back, we will see more interesting game and new team and sets of young bloods to play and showcase their skills inside the league. Expect for more unexpected outcomes as teams will try to make their presence being recognized and try to chase in winning the championship crown.

Well, I still have the Ginebra to win, but like you, I am excited to see the young guns on how they'll compete in the PBA as it's a different league and the games are more physical here. 2 weeks, hmm... I like that, I can start betting as well, and I love betting in PBA as I find it easy to win compared to other leagues.

Good news @Kasabus. I don't know PBA will be back by June, thanks for posting that update. I just missed this one too.
The next season, we will be seeing newly drafted PBA players, I hope to see a rookie that as good as Mikey Williams of the TNT or Rey Parks Jr. before.

It's okay to dream to be in a good team if you are earning minutes, in the case of Javi Gomez de Liaño, he does not earn good minutes. So now playing with Terrafirma will give him an opportunity to improve as he will definitely earn minutes if he still bring his talent in the PBA.

These SMC teams are playing with lower teams. They will trade a good prospect over a good prospect.

When the times come that they saw the full potential of these new players, I'm 100% sure something crazy trade will happen again between SMC teams and these lower teams if you know what I mean.

Anyways, Ginebra's newly acquired player from that trade won't able to play for a year. They have to wait until next year because of the injury happened.

In my opinion, it's still good even if Javi Gomez de Laño, trades from Ginebra to Terrafirma because in terrafirma he have a long minutes to okay not like in ginbera for sure he have less. And also in Terrafirma, he can more enhance his skills and someday when he became a veteran his got a chance to play in his favorite team which is ginebra San Miguel. But for now all he can do is play with his new team and prove that coach Tim was wrong when he has been trade to other player.

Whatever happen to that trade will impact his debut inside PBA, Terrafima can give him more minutes and allow his presence just like how coach Tim said, Ginebra already have full of talents and if he will play with them the chance that he won't get enough exposure and his talent will be wasted. It's a good challenge to him proving that he got something that the team will go after him.

Let see if how those rookies will stand out once they start playing and who among them will last and established their careers inside the league.

Even the PH won, I have a big concern here. PH is the most dominant country in basketball in Southeast Asia for years and they almost beat their opponents in a large lead regardless of who's on our roster pool. Here is their recent win against Thailand, PH was doing a rally throughout the game as they are always behind.

Haha looks like they hear you.

After that unexpected Thailand performance against the Philippines that was supposed to be easy for the PH squad, Gilas back again into their monster form as to how it was they were supposed to be in Basketball here in SouthEast Asian games.

76-73 against Thailand - 3 points lead
100-32 against Cambodia - 68 points lead
88-37 against Singapore - 51 points lead

In southeast Asia game, the Philippines is not easy to beat because we all know that Gilas pilipinas is one of those tough team in southeast Asia. As the score above it shows that pilipinas are stronger than them  51, 68 leads in the game is a big number and it's hard finish like that. I think Thailand is the team who can get closer to the Philippines and manage with a 3 point behind in the end of the game .
