If mikey willams want a price increase then for me it's okay because as we saw his performance last season he is very dominant in terms of playing good teammates and very strong player.

Actually, Mikey Williams isn't satisfied with the rookie salary when he was first drafted. He is asking for more because he is confident that he's a beast.

The TNT didn't grant his request and follow the max salary for a rookie as it's like Williams should prove first that he is eligible on a much higher contract.

PBA champion (2021 Philippine)
PBA Finals MVP (2021 Philippine)
PBA Rookie of the Year (2021)
PBA First Mythical Team (2021)

He really deserves a much higher contract.

Anyone here betting on the 2nd game?

It's Meralco vs Phoenix, I bet after the 1st half and my bet is for the Phoenix to win.
I'm not watching this game now, I am just betting for fun, if my bet is lucky then I will win a decent amount.  Smiley

I'm gonna use this winning for the Warriors to win in game 5.  Smiley

Oops. SMB manage to beat again NLEX on there yesterday match. I thought SMB already lose that match since NLEX manage to pin down JMF in the first half of there match while they have a good start by having a good 3pts accuracy. I'm surprised JMF manage to become useful by providing 14 rebounds on this game.

I just see my winnings today that's why I notice they actually won.  Grin

Congrats, you gave up early I think, you know SMB are really good, even if NLEX were on the lead but they were able to come back and beat the NLEX. If JMF could not provide points for the team, he can still contribute to his biggest strength which is the rebounding.

Yeah, no Mikey Williams as he is negotiating for a pay increase  Smiley. I think he deserve that after what he has shown in the last conference, he almost broke the record of Benjie Paras of being the only player to have awarded the ROY and MVP in the same season.

According to the report, Mikey Williams is now headed back to the country after a good negotiation with the TNT.

He just needs to sign it to make things official. The contract amount is not disclosed to the public, but maybe we can get a glimpse of it once everything is official.

Before, the issue was Williams wanted a salary of around Php 1,000,000 per month. It wasn't granted but let's wait for the official update from the team.

Does anyone that feels bad for the young Paras? First time to enter PBA with a team that's on a losing streak and then the losing streak continues. And just announced his retirement on PBA. Too early to be gone and I thought that he'll pursue his basketball career. Going back to the acting career which has a better treatment and more coming in for him.

Well, we all knew that his stint in the PBA is not good as he is not getting a lot of playing time but this is due to the fact that his talent level is far below his other teammates, I mean if only he is not a Paras, he could not enter in the PBA. Also, he is not a guy who is not financially well-off i think so working so hard in the court is not worth it for him so better be in showbiz rather than in the court hehe.

Meanwhile, his former team is ahead against TNT in the fourth quarter now, we may see an upset here.

Edit:

Big upset as Blackwater won its first game this conference against the squad of disgruntled coach Chot Reyes.
That's good for the team, a way to start this conference.
I agree that he's better in showbiz if that seems to be his passion and he's getting nowhere. But if he wants to stay, no one can remove him as he's likely to improve and get in his prime.
Too early to get out but that's it and it's good to have another slot for one aspiring player to replace him.

Wow, congrats if you are betting for Converge. There was a moment that the odds is 8.xx for Converge to win in the fourth quarter but the Hotshots were up by 8 points but I'm very hesitant to pull the trigger because you know Magnolia is not an ordinary team hehe but when i go back and checked the game, it is already on overtime and ultimately Converge won the game.

That was surprising. Downed by 20 points, who will think that Converge will still be able to pull a win. Even I won't bet on live betting.

Now that it happened, we now have a good basis for our future bets that even against a heavy favorite, it's possible for Converge to make the rally. I hope their rising stars won't be targeted by SMC or MVP teams.

Converge needs to stand strong and don't allow for their young good players to just be traded with these giant teams in the PBA.

Game will resume tomorrow.

1st game - SMB vs NLEX
2nd game - Converge vs Magnolia.

For a new team like Converge, I think players will get a bonus for their first win, so I think Converge is the pick here.

For me, That's a bad idea why he should quit PBA? Because of a losing streak? No that's a part of the game maybe last season they failed but this season there has a chance and we all know that young paras is very useful in terms of defense he is good at that role. But if he's decision is going to quit then go for actor then it's good for him because all the decision is in him. All I can say for young paras in his career is that (IT'S TO EARLY TO RETIRE.)

You have to remember that basketball is not really become a "career" for Andre Paras. He was exposed to showbiz and entertainment for many years making basketball become just a hobby for him or not totally played for long because of his hectic schedule. It's difficult to get back in shape even though he is still young if he's not used already to doing it. PBA is not a joke and can't be compared to the usual local leagues. Players here should always be versatile and agile to keep up with the competition.

And salary-wise, he is getting more "money" from his continuous showbiz projects overall than what he is getting as a player. That's a fact. Smiley

If the passion of playing is no longer there for him, it's best to switch career than forcing yourself to do something that you

are no longer happy. Your dedication to the game is something that is important. Once the passion is gone, your dedication will be

gone as well. If he chooses to retire as early as now, it's his decision. I'm sure the influence of his dad still impacting him, and

just to add some thoughts, the Paras family is already a billionaire, they can do whatever they desire.. Wink

Yes, you are right mate maybe there's a heavy reason why young paras leave in one of the biggest basketball leagues in the Philippines and many players want to enter this league. If what is the main reason why he leaves then let's support him because every single human being has a individual decision. But it's wasteful because his career in PBA has just begun many achievements waiting for him in the future but sad to say he will leave

I'm surprised that I know about the retirement thing, I mean, he is very new in the PBA and yet he is already talking about retirement. He does not belong to a good team like the Ginebra because he easily quit, but whatever his decision, it's his own life so we have to respect that.

He will focus on his acting career, I think he knows where he really is good at.

Wow, what a game from JV Casio! the veteran star shine high in the last few minutes of the final quarter, he really gave it all making it tough for TNT to guard him up, those surprise attacks and long three's make me reminded his prime days playing with Coach Trillo in
Aces uniform.

That old memory if serve me right he was shooting that well together with Baguio,Hontiveros,Abueva and Jazul

moving back, congrats to Terrafima for beating the star-studded TNT.

There's a reason behind that decision and we don't know what it will be unless he tells it to the media. What I'm guessing is that he just found out that basketball isn't really for him, so the passion is no longer there. Because if it's still there, he'll just take a break and then will eventually be back. But, it's not the case as he declared retirement and that's for good. Maybe, his passion is now in acting and he keeps on looking on it.

We have two games tomorrow.

3:00 PM
DYIP vs NLEX

6:00 PM
PHOENIX vs SMB

No Romeo in the 2nd game due to injury, but I still take the SMB as they have a healthy Fajardo already.

Terrence Romeo out indefinitely for SMB due to nagging back injury

With how Fajardo played last seagames, even Romeo is not around there are players who can fill the space, CJ will be there and expected to bring something decent in terms of offense, SMB for me still have an all-star cast who can consider as a good contender this season, they might not be the dominated one like  before.

But if ever Fajardo and the rest of the team blend well, this first game can be a good start for them,

-5.5 @ 1.84 or ML for 1.43.
