It is an honor and pride of a Filipino if Kai sotto will draft into NBA next season but just easy among all the listed players will be drafted, not all are good as Kai. But I think it also maybe nextime he will be drafted or maybe  there's a team who will get him to play with them. So far his performance tells to everyone that he is good enough to participate in NBA. As a Filipino ill support him to become a NBA player.

The reality is, Kai Sotto is not even on the early list of 283 candidates that the NBA released who filed for the NBA draft. We understand that it's really not easy to be included on the list as you really need a hyped name plus maybe, a good agent, to become one of the prospects. But for sure, on that 283 candidates, it's impossible that all of these are all ahead of Kai Sotto.

I'm sure there will be NBA teams that will give him a chance, maybe not in the NBA but in D-league which is a good place to enhance his skills first before entering a much bigger competition. But for that to happen first, he should be listed and that's the hard part. He really needs luck here as just imagine, there are even good players that didn't have a chance to be drafted into the NBA.

I admire his effort to build a name when he left the Philippines to push for his NBA goal. I hope he will be rewarded someday.

AFAIK, it's because of their lackluster. They've been into that situation that's near to the belt but they fell short. Each team has their own style of cleansing or shuffling if there's really need a change.
And to this point of asking if their staff wants to stay, they'll just let them stay.
Almost have that chance to win a title, but then again they've failed. The management may be aiming to know if the team still willing to stay not sure if what inside the mind of the people behind this but likewise it's more on trying to cleanse and make a much better chances next season, it's still for the good of the team and the business.

Let's all wait for further information about this possible revamp or any changes from the team in the coming new season.
They're almost there but failed and that's why they want to filter if their people wants to stay with them. We're going to see those players that would like to stay with them.

I like to bring it here since we have to specific thread for this.

Kai Sotto declares for 2022 NBA Draft

Does he have a chance to be drafted? if there is, how big and on what team?
He has and he's listed but it's still going to depend on the NBA teams if they'll be getting him. So it's like going to be a choosing portion for all of those teams. Hopefully, let's wish him luck so that he'll reach his dream journey of playing in the NBA.

Rumors are still not good, claiming Kai is not the favorite and he’s not even on the list of Mock draft for 2022. With regards to this achievement this is already a step closer to his dream to play on NBA, so whatever will be the result I’m sure Kai will not stop for aiming more, this is a good exposure to us and this can boost a lot of Filipino players to dream higher and of course, to be better. The chance is there as long as you’re part of the draft list, but its hard to tell on which team.

Although he's a Filipino, I think talking about him here is off-topic because he's not even affiliated with the PBA, unlike those players who played in other countries as they are former PBA players or talking about Gilas players. Not saying we should not discuss it here but maybe a few exchanges of statements will be fine.

There's also no definite answer to your question about what possible team will draft him as that was only predictable at those teams that will select first. Yes, there's a chance that he might be listed but I'm not expecting knowing the competition in the NBA and the fact that tall guys aren't a special asset now compare to before.

I wish him luck and hope he will achieve his dream of playing in the NBA.
Few statements about him. I will prefer to see him playing with Miami. Coach Spo may give him a good mentorship and the fact that he can be used to give some good rest for Bam. Still too early for that and we don't know if he can get that spot, but as a pinoy fan it will be an honor to our country if he will be able to land a team inside the NBA.

Just some opinion while we are waiting for the next season and what would be those changes that will take place inside the PBA.

This is the trend, Kai Sotto is probably not the favorite to be drafted but as long as he is in the list he gets a chance to get drafted.

I was thinking that he won't be able to make it, but this news gives Kai closer to his goal.
And actually, here's another news.

Media outlet and a lot of personality really shows a support to Kai, he has a good exposure but then again NBA teams are looking for a good player with a total package, so let's not expect that much and just hope for the best for him. He works a lot just get on the list and that's already a big achievement, he just need to continue his development and focus on having a more effective time on court, most probably someone is already considering Kai to get drafted, we will see.

I wonder if Alaska will join right away on this upcoming All-Filipino Cup considering the new team owner, can't see any news about this but hopefully they will join with a new players on their line up, this can be a good opportunity for them.

Yes, they will join the next conference. The team will also keep the former Alaska Head Coach before, Jeff Cariaso.

Originally, it was only Jeron Teng, Ben Adamos, and Taylor Browne who has the live contract with Converge.

Another two former Alaska players were just added yesterday, Allyn Bulanadi and Kevin Racal.

Alaska, which is now Converge FiberXers, will play this upcoming conference. They get the draft rights from Alaska and as posted by @harizen, they are the 3rd team to pick their rookie in the upcoming PBA Drafts. What's not clear to me is, if those Alaska players will be retained or will be included in the special draft.

If I'm not mistaken, not all Alaska players will be absorbed into the new Converge.

That's the update we need to wait for.

I saw on a basketball page on Facebook that Meralco Bolts seems really wants to change their roster in the upcoming All-Filipino Cup.

Some comments there are too much that they want Coach Norman Black to be traded instead as it was giving too much time for his son, although at some points he is really playing well, compared to other players that might help the team if only given a good playing time.

For now, it's only Meralco Bolts we are seeing that are active in roster management. What teams are next.
There's no need to change the roster or maybe its good to some good local players that can help the team secure another finals.

With the other posts that I've read, those posts said that the roster and staff will tell if they want to stay or not. And if that's the case, that means that they're going to give each of their staff and player to tell if they're willing to stay with the team or not.
I guess if that's the case then there's no forcing for them to stay and everyone is free to leave as they say. It's all about the free will that they give and I think as a team and company, if that's the condition, it's a good one.

What's the sense of asking that question in the first place to their players and staff? If some of those will request to be moved away, that's an easy thing to request for the management.

Meralco is the one who started here with the talks meaning they really intend to have some players to be traded.

I don't see that as a goodwill from the Meralco just like what you said. There's no need for an exit interview if Meralco just wants to move forward. Smiley

According to Daily Tribune PH sports columnist Ian Suyu, as per Meralco Bolts' Head Coach Norman Black, the team will conduct an exit interview with its players starting today, April 25, 2022. For who are those players, we don't know. One thing is for sure, they want to revamp their roster next conference.

For me, they are already good and seeing their roster, they have one of the best rosters in the league especially if it's an All-Filipino Cup. They don't need a revamped but just utilized their players and give others more minutes. Since there will be no import next season, it might be easy for Coach Norman to test some rotation.

If I pick it right, that kind of condition will allow the company who are those loyal to them,
giving them free will stay or to move to their chosen company to work it's not something that will worry anyone.

It's not bad to allow your players and staff to pick side, if they are not happy with the management, they are free to go.
Maybe the owner wanted to see if everyone will continue working with them or someone from the team is not happy
anymore with the way they are handling their business.

Looking to read further updates if the team will experience major change or if everyone will be intact and will start the new season together.
Yes, it's choosing the right people for them who have loyalty. That's really a good condition that has been given to everyone. So if they think that they should stay with Meralco, they will.
And those who have got enough with them then, they can be released easily without having any problems since the management itself is the one that has given that condition.

Agree that they are already good, it's just that some of the players lack exposure and the playing time. I wonder why Mac Belo has not been playing heavy minutes considering that this guy is very talented. So yeah, the coaching staff should start experimenting with the locals next conference and see what works for them.

Import-less, Meralco Bolts has an edge to compete with other teams. When they beat the Number 1 Magnolia which surprises everyone, there's a big contribution coming from the locals. I agree that they have to use some of their players and not just to warm their bench. There are lots of talents in the Meralco Bolts that keep from playing limited time during the Finals.

Exit interviews - this is a scary moment surely for their players. Instead of giving and boosting their morale, it's discouragement. I hope those who will be traded will find their good home after their departure to Meralco Bolts.

But to give my wild opinion here, Coach Norman Black should be fired first or have him as an assistant coach in the meantime.
