Game 4 is game-fixing? Awesome observation, guys.

1) How come those officiating can control the flow of the ball?
2) How come players can act according to plan/script during a live game in front of 17,000 people + audiences at home?
3) How come there are only a few missed calls the whole game?
4) How come Cliff Hodge is being criticized as a dirty player if the whole game is set up?
5) How come players can still drain a shot even if that's well-defended?

There might be some rigged officiating but I don't consider Game 4 as rigged or even those past games. Ginebra and Meralco do their best on those wins. Please don't put a question about their winnings or losing. Did you guys know that if PBA is proven to be rigged, most PBA legends will come out to voice their criticism? Take a look at also at PBA page and see some comments. You won't see any real fan saying that Game 4 is game-fixing and they will allow the series to go in Game 7. They are just coming back from the pandemic and they will put dirt on those games?
Well, it has became a norm that whenever the finals come. There's like a "script" that's on going and the other team has to make way for them to tie the score and standings.
Seriously, it's really hard to go with the belief that has been being passed for a long time. Even I, I was in that belief before but realizing the intensity of the matches and the speculations that you've said. It's highly unlikely that any of them would really go on with that play for them to say that the game 4 was fixed.

Fans are just can’t accept the result, fixing a game is not easy and having a small leak can ruin the reputation not just by the team but the PBA as a whole so I also don’t believe on this one even if I see some wrong calls I can still say that its an isolated case where referees are not perfect all the time. Game 4 is an obvious game for Ginebra, let’s not take it away from them.

There’s a chance that game fixing is involved since PBA is monopolized by private company and we all know that viewership is what makes this franchise profitable. This is a Ginebra game which has the most number of fans in PBA. It will be a waste if the Championship will end with a one sided match. I’m this will be a game 7 series not because of the matching fixing accusation but rather the 2 team has close stats.

That might be possible but if you really watch the game and follow the series since Game 1, how come those are rigged when they are shown playing hard? It's just that Ginebra is pumped up because Game 4 is their deciding match. If they lose it, it's hard to even series and beat Meralco 3 times in a row.

I hope other users who post here in this thread will not just look at the old and classic accusation of game-fixing or rigging the Finals. Please watch the current Finals and decide for yourself if those games are really rigged.

Please point out some plays that you think are part of the rigged game and not just accusing a certain game as rigged. If you guys can't do that, there are other threads to increase your post count. Smiley

I know some users here who really watch the game.

Game fixing issue has been there in the PBA for a long time but nothing has been proven yet so let's just give the benefit of the doubt that there is no such thing that happened in the PBA and if we look at the games in the Finals, it is hard to recognize that the games were rigged because there were so intense.

I do agree that this may reach game 7 as it is a see-saw battle and whoever adjusted very well to their game plan will win the championship.
This has been the issues and yet no evidence for this, most probably fans are just creating this issues simply because they team is not winning. With Meralco and Ginebra, I’m still confident for a clean game between this two teams. Game 4 was a great night for Ginebra, they really did a great job to be more stable this time and take the win. Whoever wins the title will surely deserve it, these two teams are playing their hearts out. Let’s see if there will be a game 7 for this conference.

Sometimes Meralco played as they can easily beat the Ginebra, but once they win, the opposing team would do their thing and will beat them. It's really not easy to predict, as a bettor, let's continue our speculation as long as we are winning, if not, then that is wrong.

Both Thompson and Brownlee deserves the award that they got and no fixing made there. The fixing is on the game itself and not on the awards.
If you are watching PBA playoffs for quite some time, you will that there are some games that are fixed. Of course there are no evidences to it but as an audience you can make a theory that they are doing it.
Game fixing or not, I think it would be better if we will just enjoy watching. There has been no games for a very long time because of the pandemic so.. lets just enjoy watching the game and support the team that we want to support Smiley.

We cannot deny this because of so many rumors before but we should see the effort of both teams just to get a point, we’ve see Ginebra really dominates this Game 4 and they are able to sustain the lead until the end. Brownlee is a great player and every time he gets the point the crowd is roaring, that could be a big factor for them. Game 7 are more possible to happen now, but I don’t think its a fixed game.

The gate entrance alone, they are already making millions of pesos per game because people are really watching the game to support the Ginebra Kings. I have a feeling that this series will reach game 7, they are already comfortable playing each other, seemed like they already practice how to lose or win.  Grin

How much is the ticket cost per game on Championship match? I still never watch live PBA match since birth but I have a friend that always watching it for free by waiting a little bit outside because gatekeeper usually let them enter when the match start. They are always watching on Antipolo Ynares Court. I don’t if Philippine Arena and Smart Araneta allow this kind of trick.

After reading your reply, I can't help my to smile, an obvious entertainment between these two teams, both know how to lose and win.

No wonder if the series will end up with a do or die all in game 7. Crowd favorite Ginebra is just like politicians from our country, they

can bring huge loads of tickets sales. Perfect timing for PBA to collect huge amounts of profits after that 2 years of losses due to the

pandemic period. Wink

I don't think they'll have Japeth in the Finals, there's no fresh news that says Japeth will be coming back, as previously reported, Japeth is already out in the PBA Finals. If they will force Japeth to play, that might give them a problem in the future if Japeth will aggravate the injury.

They need to work it harder and not to let Meralco win and have a comfortable lead from this series, even without Japeth, they

managed to win last game 2 and if they will adjust and were more aggressive, they can force to tie this series, the NSD troops were always

have a strong influenced when Ginebra is on this kind of situation, they will do everything to avoid losing this important game.

Bolts 4 points in the last almost 9 minutes (from 41:37 to 45:51, with halftime in between) , yet another fix is on to get the maximum amount of matches guaranteed. PBA at its bet, as usual.

Ginebra is winning the game already, I did not finish watching the game as I believe they'll win and will even the series. If there's a fix, then that should favor the Ginebra Kings, Japeth played actually but he only played with limited minutes, congratulations to the Ginebra Kings in advance, 2-2 now.

Let's not talk about the fix, that is an insult to the BPC (Scottie Thompson) and BIC (Justin Brownlee), they both deserve that award and they deserve the win. This series is getting more exciting, if they fix it in favor of the Ginebra, for sure game 5 is not fixed.

Yes, of course, no fixing on the award as obviously they were the leading players in the league.
What do you think will happen next game? will the Meralco win and lead the series? Or it's Ginebra winning again and take a commanding lead of 3-2?

If the fix is in, it's hard to quess on who will win in game 5.

They need Japeth on this upcoming Game 4.

Definitely, they need Japeth in this upcoming game, having Japeth in the game gives Genebra more options to score.

Being behind 3-1 if ever they will lose again is a difficult task to bounce back even if that is possible. I can't trust handicap now as they always choked their big lead. Live betting is a good option but I think placing a Moneyline with Ginebra is a good choice too since there's no choice for them but to win this game.

2-2 is more likely to happen than Meralco 3-1.

Well, 3-1 for Meralco is more likely to happen if the same thing will happen on the Genebra's outside shooting.  Imagine, in their last game, only 4 out of 32 three-point attempts connected.  I bet, having Japeth around won't help if Genebra's three-point shooting will perform this poorly again.

Since we are talking of a good start, I guess I would bet on Ginebra in the first half because that's where they are good at. In the last 2 games, they all win the first half. So this will be my strategy, bet on the Ginebra to win in the 1st half, if they loss, bet on them live getting the ML.

This would be a very nice strategy but on my favorite bookies, these options/markets are not shown or not offered unlike in the NBA. How about the other bookies, are they offered?

Will do live betting for today and see if the trend continues. If Ginebra would win this game tonight then the chances of a game 7 is very high and also, there are reports that Japeth will be back so that will be a big help for them.
