Betting odds for tomorrow's game is now out in the market.

Ginebra -4.5
Magnolia -3.5...

I'm just wondering why Magnolia is only -3.5 after a dominant performance in the first game.
Are we going to see a trap here?

It seems that ginebra is getting the crowd here and also ginebra is the favorite team ever in the history of Philippine basketball association. Even though That magnolia has a dominant performance still that ginebra has a bigger amount of bets than magnolia. I think it also that we will see a trap here, as for now all we need is to observe.

As always, we should not be surprised with that, and actually, even if Ginebra will lose tomorrow, I'm pretty sure they will still remain as the favorite to win in game 3. The good thing with Ginebra si that most of the time they have a solid 4th quarter, so one technique I'm using is I bet on them when they are down to get a very attractive odds, what I'm saying is live betting.

Going with the flow, I have a feeling that I will see the same winner as in the game 1. However, I would pay more attention on the points as I think both teams will play tougher defense and that would mean the game will go under.

Ginebra vs NLEX - under 203.5
Hotshots vs Meralco, under 193.5

Prior to Converge getting the Alaska rights, is there a list shown to the public who offers to buy the franchise?
I don't think that there's a list of that which they'll show to the public. But just another news related to the Converge/Alaska franchise. They're going to retain Cariaso as the head coach and they're now in talks with the players.

As per the news, There’s 3 companies interested to buy the franchise of Alaska Aces which the owner didn’t name them due to privacy. But considering Converge successfully purchased it from them, We can assume that the other 2 companies is the well known giant company SMC and MVP since they are always looking for to expand there influence in the PBA league, Good thing the owner decided to sell it to a new company or else PBA will be more boring to watch especially when the underdog team face a giant company team like Ginebra.

Back on the topic, Magnolia vs Ginebra is surely in the finals!

Two ISP in the PBA, it's a good competition for this two. So when Globe will have their team too? lol..
I'm not sure if there's any other ISP in the PBA as another franchise, the one that's just recently confirmed is the Converge.
Probably no way of Globe getting in, the other one that's likely to wait for a slot is PLDT. But I don't think these two huge telcos really need to get into the league and have their franchise. As of the moment, it's only Converge as the ISP in the league.

Maybe he meant that Pangilinan owns PLDT, who is also the owner of TNT / Smart. Converge is the new owner after buying Alaska not sure if there's no relationship between Pangilinan and the owner of Converge Roll Eyes it would be nice if the one who bought the franchise is Ditto or Choks that would be a real threat.

Choks can compete offering a decent amount of contract and additional perks, maybe the reason why Magnolia switches from using the hotdogs to their chicken business, they don't want the same line of business to compete with wide exposure like the PBA. Cool Roll Eyes
Yeah possible and it wasn't just explained clearly. As for the Chooks to go, they're mostly advertising only with PBA ads but I'm sure that there's also been an attempt to get a franchise.
But, they weren't granted as there's some conflict with the current franchises that they have and there's the competition so the PBA committee granted Converge instead.

Chooks-To-Go won't make it to the PBA as they already have a stand-alone campaign which will make things just complicated.

But we can't clearly rule out the possibility in the future.

Chooks-To-Go products are also the same as Magnolia which is owned by SMC and we know how influential and powerful SMC is to the league and one of the core companies while PBA is still standing.

Prior to Converge getting the Alaska rights, is there a list shown to the public who offers to buy the franchise?
There is a chance that it will only happen if:
1. There will be a team that will sell their franchise and they will be the ones who will win the bid.
2. The PBA will make an expansion and adding more teams.

With these 2, I think the first one is more reasonable to happen because I don't think that the PBA will expand and add more teams at least for now and in the next 2-3 years maybe. Another question that comes to our mind is that if Chooks-To-Go is owned by SMC then they will have 4 teams already and MVP only has 3. Is that mean that MVP will add another team for himself incase they will join. Another question is that if Chooks-To-Go is interested in joining knowing that they already have a separate league that is conducting. Anyway, congrats for Converge for joining the PBA. I just hope that they will not be the same as other independent teams out there and with regards to the list of bidders who joined, I don't think that they posted it only or they will post it online.

I did not read anything about that, I guess the negotiation was just in private and since Converge had the best offer, they were able to get the Alaska rights. For me, this kind of advertising is very helpful for their product as they are planning to expand nationwide.

Dbag scam team/league does it again (3rd game in a row), NLEX up 39:23 after 15min and in the next 15min they are 12:33 , makes total sense.

When does FIBA or any supervision look into this shit and stop this?

Do you even watch it live or just follow the scoreboard?

They are all Oscar's Best Actors if they did it on purpose. They will end up as a Hall of Famer of any Acting Rewards body since they are all good at it. Imagine they are able to control the ball, perform a proper defense, perform better gameplay because of their acting skills. Cheesy

You should also be able to see if the majority thinks of that way but only a few. Just move on.

As expected, these 2 teams will emerge the first win. Just worried about Magnolia early in the period as they are being downed by 17 at most.
They worked hard to cover that deficit and fortunately they are able to win, such a great team composure and really focused on correcting their errors and win the game. Ginebra may not dominate the whole game but at least they won the game as expected, game 2 will surely be a hard one and its hard to predict so I might not place my bet to save for the last game.

I will skip betting on Moneyline on these teams on Game 2 as I smell a comeback by those losing teams but instead will look at how the handicap or spread will be provided. Well, also depends on the odds.

Let's see the odds next game.

I don't know what's the deal of allowing Converge to join the PBA but i have read that there was some sort of a special negotiation, just hoping that it is not that they will become a farm team of TNT lol.

My bet for the first game last night won, i thought Magnolia will lose that one but they came back in the second half to secure the game, same thing with Ginebra.

Seems like we are heading to an all SMC team finals this conference huh.

PLDT is on a volleyball, most probably they are looking for alternatives aside from basketball since there’s also a huge number of viewers for volleyball but I agree that they don’t need to enter into a franchise since they are already a top telco players. Converge coming into the PBA can help boost their business, especially now that a lot of telcos players are already out in the market.

NLEX wont give up here, they will surely bounce back but of course Ginebra will not be on a complacent mode here since NLEX is not an easy opponent and they did great in elimination so a more possible come back scenario for NLEX so I agree on betting double here because the next game will be more intense. The NSD mantra of Ginebra always bring them a good luck, but on this conference they should not depend on that and do better on the early quarters to have a dominating win against their opponent.

Would be an interesting game 2. We have seen how Ginebra manage to control in the last few quarters of the game.

I was thinking maybe they will lose this game then try to be better in game 2, but Teniente Tenorio is not willing to give the fight and

show his leadership. The blend between Ginebra players is great. They know how to handle the pressure and they rotate the ball so well.

NLEX needs to adjust. They should learn how to relax and make a good plays even their opponent is rallying, they play and try to beat

Ginebra in their momentum. Not a good strategy to hold with your lead.

I’m still with Ginebra on 2nd game, Maybe the adjustment for NLEX will take effect on 3rd game since they give a half of this game to Ginebra and it only means that there something wrong on there strategy.
Why would they wait for a 3rd game? They need to make an adjustment by the next game, otherwise, they are at risk of getting eliminated early. I think this is a best of 5 series, so if Ginebra will get the first 2 wins, they'll likely win the series too.

I’m not saying they will wait for adjustment until 3rd. What I’m implying in my statement is they will have a hard time to fully adjust on game 2 since Ginebra is completely control them for 2 quarters and the rest is a close fight. Based on this huge gap, I concluded that even if they adjust on 2nd game, They will have the full effect on 3rd game because the 2nd game will just serve as trial for there new strategy. Adjusting your strategy doesn’t mean that coach Ginebra will just watch them and so nothing. Ofc thy will still prepare too just to maintain there lead. There’s always a chance of reverse sweep even the first team get the first 2 games.

Anyway let’s just watch and bet happily.  Wink
