How about the bet in the series? do you want to set up a competition?

Actually, you can set up for us, hehe.

I would also love to put my bet too but if there's no one who will set up a competition, then we have no choice but to bet on the betting sites with very limited odds. You know, they don't even have a series betting, it's just a per game but for me, it's not so exciting compared to the NBA odds.

There's some twist that we're going to see on the next season of PBA. There's now a guest team that's going to play and this could be the start of PBA being open now with other guest teams in the future.
What can you say about this development? They're now starting to change and probably this is one of the factors that they can see to get back the solid fans of PBA.
This is what we are talking before probably, the EASL is mentioned again in that article you shared, although I have not read fully what it could bring to the league but I find it exciting. just to quote some from the same article.

Quote
First foreign guest team since 2004
The EASL side is set to become the first foreign team to play in Asia's first pro league in 18 years, or since UBC Thunderbirds and US Mail and More Fil-Am Selection competed in the 2004 Fiesta Conference.

On the other hand, a Gilas Pilipinas side coached by Rajko Toroman and led by naturalized player Marcus Douthit was the last guest team to compete in the PBA back in 2011.

The team is reportedly going to have Manila as its temporary home base owing to the strict travel restrictions in Hong Kong, the new format of the EASL being a home-and-away setup.

The first game of the semis between Bolts and Magnolia will be on Wednesday, IMO this is a good match-up so if anyone is interested in betting peer to peer I will be glad to accommodate, just reply to this post.

I'm for the Magnolia Hotshots. If you want to bet for the Bolts to win this series, please reply to this post.
What’s the odds for this? I’m also rooting for Magnolia but I can bet with Bolts since the games are more unpredictable now and both teams are really did well in the last eliminations. Bolts are more eager to win most probably while Magnolia still want to remain on top and go to the finals, such a head to head match up.

Probably there's a handicap, like Meralco is +1 in the series or you'll win 600 pesos for 1000 bet if you go for Magnolia. hehe.
That's what I'm thinking because I think that no one would put their money on Meralco at this time for 1:1 betting.

How about Ginebra vs NLEX, anyone also interested in that series?

Only a good fan of meralco will take ML, just like you. A handicap may attract another bettor to grab that offer, but we just wait and
see if we have a fellow Kabayan who will take this for Meralco, else, bisdak may offer a good handicap for this series. With Ginebra and
NLEX do you think ML is fair enough? New import of NLEX may affect their chance from this series, for me, if same import NLEX got
a good chance though Ginebra with Brownlee and a healthy squad, also a very competitive squad.

Depends on your deal most probably, but 1:1 is really not ideal with Meralco and Magnolia since we know who are the teams that really dominate the series here. Ginebra will be the favorite here for sure, semi-finals are really composed of great teams, we can expect a lot of surprises here.

If there's no official turnover or what they called it when a buyer sold a franchise, until the next conference, Alaska players will now be included in the upcoming draft pick in May. It's called "Special Draft" or something along those lines if I remember it right.

The question is, will all of them will be able to get drafted? if not, then those who are not selected will have to say goodbye to the PBA will probably look for an opportunity in the other league. They came from the PBA, for sure they'll be considered as valuable assets.
Not all of them will be drafted for sure, otherwise, the salary cap of a team won't be able to accommodate all the players.

I don't want to see that happen, so I just hope that there's a company we're able to Alaska's rights
Who would like to see it happen? Just be optimistic that the players will be saved from losing a team and someone who is interested will buy Alaska.
For now, we have no news yet on the latest development, let's just wait patiently.

Same here. How about the Finals? we can make an advance bet if you want. You take the Magnolia, and I'll go with the Ginebra, if both teams will not advance, then the bet will void.. you like that? Smiley

Hope the team will remain intact and will not turn into another farm team.

I'm looking forward to this too. The new owner will have the Alaska franchise's draft right since it's not an expansion team that's why if the team will be turned into a farm team, what a waste of talents as players will just be forward to a much stronger team and in the end, the PBA will say "the trade is fair" lol if you guys know what I mean.

There's no new information regarding who's the company will own the Alaska rights.

I was wishing that the Alaska Aces should win with the match a while ago. Well, that's their farewell and last match. The former coach that was with them, Tim Cone was also there and watched their farewell match. A very sad moment for the Alaska franchise but that's it and they've already made a decision and has to move to what they're going to look at next. And it's exciting on which franchise is going to come in next in replacement of their exit.

That final buzzer for the Alaska team was full of emotion if you are an Alaska fan. Good thing that we have witnessed the end of Alaska's journey so we can tell our kids in the future what we have known of Alaska. Thank you, Alaska for the good memories you bring to the PBA and for those exciting games that we watched.

Hope the team will remain intact and will not turn into another farm team.
Yup, the journey ends there. Ever since I was kid, I've known this team and I've personally saw them in the Cuneta Astrodome. I can't vividly remember but I do remember my interaction with coach Tim Cone when he was still part of the team.
A lot of memories and great players have been part of the team and this is really an emotional exit to be remembered forever, this is more than just a break up.

both can bring decent money for the sport bookies. Wink
Not only to the bookies but also to the PBA, especially if it goes to game 7.

They say that the more games are played, the more money will come.

PBA struggles during the pandemic when the restriction was still high, so your speculation has a basis because it's their chance to maximize the profit they can get as we all know Ginebra brings a crowd and that means money for me. I've never seen Ginebra lose in a series if the crowd is in full support of them, so I wouldn't be surprised if they'll win another championship this season.
Many believed that the games are being paid so they can go for game 7 but I don’t believe on this, because this can ruin their reputation and no teams wants to lose the chance for the title anyway. There’s a big money if there’s a huge crowd, if its already allowed we can expect viewers to cheer for their teams.

It's not actually the team who will rig the game, that's too obvious.

Most of the speculation I read and saw always directs to the officiating because referees can control the game with their calls, even a slight wrong call might have a big impact on the game. Ever seen a game where you see one team is being favored by the refs while the others do not get the calls? That maybe is one of the rig games in sports.

However, these are not proven facts, until now, it remain as a speculation from the minds of the observant critics.

It’s so early to predict Ginebra and Meralco in the while in fact Magnolia and NLEX are very strong team in this season. I’m actually aiming one of this 2 team in the finals. Ginebra is indeed strong to sweep TNT but TNT import is not that good compare to other teams in the league. But as usual, Ginebra is always strong during Semis to Finals due to the amount of support they are getting from bandwagon pinoy and pinay fans.  Cheesy

Things have changed now to NLEX since they are playing with a new import. Ginebra can't match NLEX on their first meeting and Brownlee was the only one doing the job for Ginebra. With today's status, I think Ginebra can match NLEX in a series match and probably more chances for them to reach the Finals. Not predicting it early but who knows that while the replacement of McDaniels is continuing to just move forward, he will be able to replicate or maybe much better compare to McDaniels.

But what if a good turnaround happens and instead, we will see Meralco and NLEX in the Finals. It's something unusual as we always SMC on the Finals.

At least once every few conferences, we should see the Finals like that.

On the other side, what if both SMC will meet in the finals, the manila clasico is also one of those memorable match up.

and by how both Ginebra and Magnolia playing, they can dominate the game, both teams do have a healthy squad. They are very

familiar with each other, the rotations and the play making can easily execute. I'm not closing that chance to see both SMC in the

finals, top seeded Magnolia and a crowd favorite Ginebra,

In that case, I wouldn't expect the series to end early, they are sister teams so they can manipulate the result, probably we will see a game 7 and I believe that the crowd favorite will win.

Wow, i never thought that Ginebra would advance to the semis by defeating the TNT Katropa twice and it was not even a close game.

Scottie Thompson as usual did the damage for the Kings with his hustle and rebounding prowess hehe.

Congrats to all who back the Gin Kings to win and advance to the semis and hopefully to the Finals, seems like the PBA office is smiling at the moment as they expect gate revenues to skyrockets when the semis began.
Brownlee is a big factor here and I didn't expect Ginebra to be on the semis because of their poor performance on the elimination round but they prove something today and its good to see them back on a winning column. Semi finals are more intense if there's a Ginebra there looking forward for other teams but I'm sure Magnolia will also advance while NLEX has a better chance to win right now, let's see.
It's always Brownlee when he plays with the Gin Kings. He loves working with this team. They struggle back in the regular season but they still manage to climb and now they are back in the semis. It's a tough match, but for sure they will try harder to be back in the finals. PBA will take this advantage if ginebra will win this semis and advance to the finals, revenue for PBA will be very decent, fans will buy this one, watching in the live event is possible to be a jampack attendees.
