If they want to get the attention of the fans, they should surprise them by letting Northport or ROS win a championship again. Those are teams that aren't so popular but have some competitive players. PBA management is too ambitious, talking about being the number one in Asia where people aren't even watching PBA anymore. They prefer to watch MPBL, as there's real competition there. I think the PBA needs to see that first before aiming to compete with other leagues in Asia.
So we are part of the top 5 pro league in Asia. https://www.fiba.basketball/news/my-top-five-pro-leagues-in-asia
But can we beat the other leagues that pays bigger money?
Korean Basketball League (KBL)
Philippine Basketball Association (PBA)
Japanese B.League
Lebanese Basketball League (LBL)
Straight and precise and that's the sad reality and the reason also why new talents are no longer focus with PBA but instead they are aiming overseas as they can get bigger paychecks, though there's still opportunities for this league maybe if changes from the handlers will take place and those so obvious trades will be prevented and let those teams who are independent win a title or become a title contender not just a farm team a-like that will just continue to play to complete the list of the teams, the name of the league will remain but having that interest back,
that's something that really needs to work more, they need to bring excitement and entertainment and not just adding something that gain attention in a negative way, my point is having a 4point rainbow arc might not gives that excitement but the real competitions from each teams that in the list of franchise and not being dominated by selected squads.
New raising talents now aim overseas because they see more better opportunity. Aside for getting quality minutes for their teams they can also get more bigger pay checks that's why lots of them decide to go abroad and accept the offers given to them.
JMF is probably he highest paid player in the PBA, but I believe other players playing overseas are even making more money than him, so that alone the PBA could not compare anymore, that's why I have no idea what came into their mind to come up with that unrealistic goal.
That monopoly has been for a decade IMO, it was just notice in the later years because people have became more active in social media interaction. And with that, I'm sure they read the comments from the real fans but they aren't making any actions about that, so we can't expect they'll grow as a league.
