That's him being careless and not contented with what he has attained. A lot of good players are wanting to get in on his position but he's the one that got lucky and chosen to get into the league.
But with his luck, he has put himself into the wrong situation by rigging a game with the little amount that he can even earn and at least get with some sponsors. A very bad decision that he has made and I don't know where he's going to be led by the decision thrown to him.
The case is still pending investigation, but he is already banned for the moment, so if the investigation may take too long, that is how long he will be out even if he does not really make a violation.
I think that we know where it is going. That the chance of him being kicked out and the removal of his license or right to play in the league will be for sure.
Such a waste for his career that has never been at its peak. Unlike those pros that are taking care of themselves, although, there's a possibility that they've been involved in the same anomaly. They've never allowed it for long to get involved on it and they've decided to play clean and be content with the offer and salary that they're receiving. PBA should be strict on this and they impose hard penalties like removal and being banned for life.

Finally, the good news has come, the PBA will start a new conference this December 8.

Quote
The second conference will feature imports with a height limit of 6-foot-6.
Good for Ginebra as Brownlee is  6-foot-6 in height so he might dominate here like he always does.

Also, the venue is in Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City but no audience is still allowed at the moment, but hopefully, they will eventually allow the audience since the situation now is not anymore as worse as before.

A great day to watch Basketball and enjoy the holiday, finally I thought this will happen early next year but it came early and that’s a great news. I guess the height limit are here already since then so no big issue here as the team owners already know this. Even if there’s a live audience I still wont risk my health I’d rather watch online, the new variant look more scary as many countries are panicking.

Is this the guy that has sold their game to a bettor and they did the transaction through gcash? That's what I remember with the most recent rigging of their match.
I'm curious about how deep GAB will investigate this issue. According to that viral Facebook post, there's a certain name that was involved who are the facilitators of this game fixing activities inside SMB teams. If these rumors will be investigated further, maybe PBA will come up proving the legitimacy of those "hulog games"

So far the news about this issue still hot. If there are demands from the said bettors, he can be a good witness to this allegation not just for De Guzman, but for me personally. The guy knows more.

He won't risk a huge amount of money for nothing, not the first time if I remember that convo the guy knows how to deal with this kind
of mafia inside PBA. Roll Eyes Grin

Nice update, Brownlee. As we know him, he can lift the spirit of the Gin kings.

Though we can't tell if he can really dominate, but in terms of familiarity with his teammates and the system from coach Tim,
the advantages are with in him.

Ginebra needs him to guide the team again and bring the brotherhood. We didn't see that last bubble after acquiring CStan,
if Japeth, CStan and Brownlee will jive together, adding LA and Pringle will complete their solid 5.

Now they are coming back to Manila, and the players are now capable of going home after playing. It's more comfortable now.

I guess only C Stand and Pringle are the new faces of the team that Brownlee has not played with before. However, IIRC,  Brownlee, and C Stand are teammates in Alab Pilipinas before, or rival? So these two meet and know each other hopefully, so let's hope that bond will be stronger as they play for the first time on the same team in the PBA.

I know that most of us here are talking about the Game Fixing and I just want to share this news.
One Sports, a page on Facebook posted that there is already a schedule into when the Governor's Cup will start. It will start on December 8 2021.

In addition to it, Comm. Willie is trying to communicate with the LGUs on hoping that they will allow spectators or audiences to watch the games in person. Well, this is a good news for PBA fans including me Cheesy.

With the alert system of most of the places in our country in Level 2, I think that they will allow 50% of the total capacity of the stadium but with the new variant of the virus that has been discovered which is the Omicron variant this might change and the worst scenario is that PBA will return to bubble again once this variant will come to our country. We know for a fact that this variant will come. Its just a matter of when. I just hope that even though this variant will be in our country, the Governor's Cup will still continue.
We’re on a good alert level but since there’s a new covid variant this may prevent the government from allowing live audience, let’s just hope that this new variant is not that strong compare to delta variant so we can have a good holidays and a good basketball conference. So next week is the start of the Governord cup, I think there’s no time left to apply for approval of live audience, its better for now to have a good live telecast so people can still watch the game on a good quality.
There's no problem with live telecast as they are delivering that to us, we can see the live games on TV5, PBA Rush, and on their facebook live streaming. I just missed the youtube live streaming, I hope they'll make that up again as it's easier to watch it compared to facebook like, and with good quality as well.

Thanks for the links. He firstly denied his involvement with the deal and that's usually going to be the first thing he's going to do because it just pops and that poor bettor has shared it on social media. He has forgotten how quickly to spread information through it and can easily make it viral.
When De Guzman and the accuser goes on face to face, there will be an intense face off between and the two and many information that haven't heard yet will come out for sure.

He destroyed his career with just a small amount he would make, if he avoided giving tips, he could have played with the SM Beerman and maybe given a break if he do well which would made him a millionaire, too bad for him, he was attracted with instant money without realizing that he risk his career for that.
That's him being careless and not contented with what he has attained. A lot of good players are wanting to get in on his position but he's the one that got lucky and chosen to get into the league.

@LogitechMouse

Thanks for that wonderful update, seeing the PBA slowly getting back to normal is a huge improvement and that will bring more fun. Maybe we will see it more entertaining to watch especially the team which has the biggest number of fans, and that is non other than the Ginebra San Miguel.

Is this the guy that has sold their game to a bettor and they did the transaction through gcash? That's what I remember with the most recent rigging of their match.

Yeah, that's him. It looks like he is guilty as we can see on the actions of the PBA imposed to him.
here's another link about the story of his alleged involvement in game-fixing.

De Guzman accuser to appear in game-fixing probe, says GAB\
Quote
THE Games and Amusements Board (GAB) is giving San Miguel 3x3 player Daniel de Guzman a chance to air his side even after snubbing a summon for a probe into his alleged involvement in game-fixing and gambling.

GAB chairman Baham Mitra assured due process will be given to de Guzman, who was asked to explain his side to the professional sports regulatory body after screenshots of his alleged conversation with a bettor became viral on social media.

Mitra also bared that the person who made the allegations against de Guzman in a post on Facebook will also be appearing before GAB officials for his side on the issue.

Yep, this thread is created only for the sole purpose of discussing PBA games that is played by the professional basketball player of the Philippines, and definitely not a thread for the MPBL that is consisting semi-professional players that was found 4 years ago. So, please quit yapping about it ladies and gentlemen, just saying  Cheesy
Doesn't matter which of both party is good, as long as they serve the same purpose and that is to entertain viewers and display their skills in basketball industry. Both old school and modern players are good in their own different set of skills.
There's a connection since there's a shift of a PBA player coming there and going to another league. It's fine if there's a slight discussion about it. But okay, going back to the actual topic of PBA.

I'm not actually watching MPBL but because of Marc, I might be following a few games not only from him though. It's really good to see someone out from retirement goes back.

MPBL is more entertaining to watch compared to PBA. Cheesy
~
Can I ask where can I watch MPBL games?
I'm not following them back since but since you said that the physicality there is more entertaining than PBA who had these very soft calls and very inappropriate calls which makes the league more boring to watch.

I don't know but I just love to watch basketball games that has a bit of physicality since it is how PBA started. There is physicality involved like how the NBA is back in the Jordan Era around 80-90's (correct me).

There's a Facebook page I followed and they regularly stream live MPBL games. I forgot the name but that should be on my bookmark page. More physical games attract more viewers' that's why MPBL user-based are growing. It's far from what happening in PBA where the league is now soft. No more physicality at the paint because expect a foul will be called.

I have pointed on my recent post here that don't get me wrong. I'm still on PBA but watching MPBL, it's like the old days of PBA. I'm expecting I won't receive a response to that PBA is popular, PBA has famous players because that's not the point there. Cheesy

That's not it mate, if I read the name of the league, I'll remember it but that's not the PBL.

PBL, MBA is the only league I remember in the past.

Enough of the MPBL as this thread is PBA. Cheesy

There's a clear physical foul before the call will be called.

So you are saying that PBA is rigged and MPBL is not?  Smiley

Well, some people believe that PBA is rigged, they believe that some games are "LUTO", but haven't heard a lot from MPBL because this is not really as popular as the PBA, but maybe in the future if they'll keep competing, they'll become a major competitor of the PBA.

If I recall it right, there's an entire team that being ban to MPBL because of game rigging,

it was discussed here before as the video goes viral, but Sen. Manny Pacquiao act right away and suspend the entire team.
I think you are referring to this one ; MPBL files game-fixing raps vs 21 Soccsksargen Marlins players, members

Inside PBA, rumors are still circulating but until now there's no hard evidence that will point out the people behind. No evidence

no case Wink

No evidence will be found if they will not conduct an investigation, unlike what Manny did with the MPBL, they really investigate it and made appropriate actions.

This one also is related to PBA fixed game issue. https://mb.com.ph/2021/09/24/san-miguel-3x3-player-daniel-de-guzman-blacklisted-by-gab/

Going back to crypto, I can't confirm if there's a crypto-site that listed MPBL games before.

Same here, but if there's a crypto site that would accept betting on MPBL that should be updated so we can put a bet. I believe 1xbit is one of the crypto sportsbooks that has a wide range of markets on sports, they probably have MPBL, however, their reputation is not good, so I don't suggest betting on this site.

To my fellow gamblers here... who are following the MPBL? Maybe you can make a thread on this particular league so we can find more information about the game and the news. Anyone, please don't hesitate since MPBL is getting more popular now.

I think let's wait for the league official resume so that there are now active bets to choose from. I follow the league, not just the league is now on the trend but because one of my friends there is playing at the Pasig Realtors (my hometown). The homecourt is also the venue of the former Pasig Blue Pirates in the MBA league (Metropolitan Basketball Association).

Going back to crypto, I can't confirm if there's a crypto-site that listed MPBL games before.

That's clearly because most of the teams are owned by a few owners only if for example an SMC team is caught rigging games, I don't think the PBA will have a clean investigation of the SMC team does not want it. Sorry, but I feel like the officers of the PBA do not really have the freedom to do their job based on the actual implementing rules, their decision could be influenced by the big teams' owners.

I have to agree with you. PBA is now a big politics and big teams are influential. It's like a debt of gratitude that since big teams are backing the PBA, they are somehow always being followed and being favored by the PBA tops (for example thru trades).

It's different from what happens in MPBL where no one can dictate how the league should be run in favor of a specific team. FOR NOW and I hope it will maintain that kind of status.

But to be clear, like I posted just a few posts before, please don't get me wrong. I'm just stating what I observed for following the league for long and it doesn't mean I prefer MPBL now compare to PBA.
