Most viewers have switched to MPBL and they also find it more entertaining especially if there are celebrity players who are showcasing their skills on the basketball ring. Manny Pacquiao always try his luck in all fields that he wants and he never stops until he succeeds which is really impressive.

I don't believe in that, you should show some proof to convince me.

PBA is still more popular than MPBL and I don't see MPBL is competing with PBA since the players of the PBA are way better than the MPBL players, and some PBA players are representing our countries in international competition.

Here's an article to describe the competition between PBA and MPBL.
PBA and MPBL Discuss Ways to CO-EXIST Without Unintended COMPETITION

They can co-exist without competing actually as MPBL is just new while PBA has been here for many decades, meaning the fan-based for PBA is bigger compared to MPBL, plus PBA has more media exposures as they are broadcast in one of the biggest networks in the country which is owned by one of the PBA owners.

A news about Marc Pingris. He unretires and will play for Nueva Ecija in MPBL. His passion for basketball can't be removed and good to see him back play again but no longer for PBA but now for MPBL.
Also see this news and its not a shock to me since many athletes are coming back from their retirement so basketball here in our country are also belong to that. Its a good decision for Pingris for sure and probably he misses playing on court with his favorite sports, let’s see if Nueva Ecija will become more competitive after Marc joining this team. Seriously, MPBL are getting more serious year after year.
I'm not actually watching MPBL but because of Marc, I might be following a few games not only from him though. It's really good to see someone out from retirement goes back.
It's not just about the offer but also about the love of the game. Well, we see players going from the league after league. AFAIK, there's also another league for which some players from PBA that haven't taken the spotlight are playing there. I forgot the name of the league, it's also in our country.

Not sure if that MBA or PBA D-League,

I saw from one of social media site that it's not just Pingris that will play for Nueva Ecija, Peter Simon will also joining him.

The caption of that post said " Isa na lang kulang" which very easy to identify.
But if I'm not mistaken, James Yap still have one more season before
he will retire his Jersey.

It's interesting, JayJay helterbrand after playing with PBA veterans exhibition game decide to comeback and play with MPBL..
maybe more PBA star  will be joining this league.

MPBL is becoming more interesting, with some PBA players participating in the league, it will become more popular Manny Pacquiao as the founder will become successful as well. He has no success playing with the PBA back then with KIA, but here, his league grow and has become very competitive now.

MPBL is more entertaining to watch compared to PBA. Cheesy
~
Can I ask where can I watch MPBL games?
I'm not following them back since but since you said that the physicality there is more entertaining than PBA who had these very soft calls and very inappropriate calls which makes the league more boring to watch.

I don't know but I just love to watch basketball games that has a bit of physicality since it is how PBA started. There is physicality involved like how the NBA is back in the Jordan Era around 80-90's (correct me).

https://www.teampilipinas.info/2018/03/mpbl-live-updates-schedule-results.html
ABS-CBN Sports is the official broadcaster of the league and will air games of the MPBL through its ABS-CBN S+A channel

I rarely watch this league too, so I am not familiar with what channels are covering them now.
If they have a online live streaming in youtube, that would be better.

Is that Philippine Basketball League - PBL?

Most of the players there are draftees to PBA. I think only a few players reverted from PBA to PBL.

Anyways, the league is already disbanded for a decade now.

Don't get me wrong. I follow MPBL since then as the physicality there is more entertaining to see compared to the PBA where it's now switching to NBA soft call. The audience impact also plays a big role. It's a good thing that the entry fee in most cases is free that's why the venue is always at full capacity.

MPBL is the newer version of the former league, MBA. It's expensive to host that kind of setup but MPBL was able to manage it. Thanks to its founder, Manny Pacquiao.

Let's talk about Kai Sotto, he is now with the Adelaide 36ers, an Australian team. I think this league is more competitive than Japan's B-League.

As we can see, he is already in the roster_ https://www.adelaide36ers.com/players
(wondering why PBA team does not have their own website)
Smiley

So my question is, will he make a name in this competition and improve as a player?

his first game .
They are still playing on a preseason and yesterday the team released a statement about resting Kai for the rest of the preseason so they can prepare this guy and condition himself for the regular season. This can be a big court for Kai to prove his worth and yes this is better compare to Japan B League since Australia is way a better country with regards to basketball ranking.

Good decision for Japeth, he knew that he no longer on his prime he will only bring shame to his career.  Grin

Kidding aside, he has a good relationship with Gin kings management so why bother to move away? His team gives him another chance for his career
it's better to end it up and retire using the banner.

We never know who among those stars will change up their minds and transfer to B-League. Only time will reveal that for us.

What are you saying? Even not in prime, he is still better at those all active Filipinos playing right now in B-league. Smiley And why does he get an offer if you think he is already past his prime?

Who among the current PH players there playing at B-league can match Japeth's skills? Parks Jr.? Paras? Ravena's? Those PH players are in their prime but look they are not that ringing the bell in the basketball world. Nothing will be a shame in Japeth's career if he decides to be signed at B-league.

You are right, I'm just pointing my opinion about Japeth personal career, the expectation if not being met, no offense to all of you.

I just remembered him after his try playing in the NBA and end up playing with TNT,

that kind of high expectation but he ended up being bench by coach Chot.

and I'm only kidding, so there's no offense. I know what pride Japeth brings to our country, a good member of team Gilas,

Not possible to be selected if you are not good, right? Cool

This will be our own opinion only because some might say Japeth is better than those who are in B-League already, while some may not say so. Personally, I see Japeth has been improving already, his best asset is his defense and rebounding ability, he developed that under coach Tim Cone and I'm happy for him as he is not anymore criticize now unlike in the past where even the whole Ginebra is called "kangkong" every time they fail.

Another trade just happened.
TNT acquiring Carl Bryan Cruz in three-man trade with Blackwater

Quote
CHOT Reyes has always been intrigued by Carl Bryan Cruz's talent since he was a fixture in the Gilas Pilipinas roster during the former's time in charge.

Now he gets to handle the 6-foot-4 forward anew, but outside of the national team set-up.

Three-man deal
Cruz is bound for a reunion with Reyes at TNT Tropang Giga as Blackwater is trading the former Far Eastern University standout to the Tropang Giga for big man Chris Javier and a future first-round pick.

Seldom-used Blackwater rookie Mark Acuno was likewise thrown into the mix, packaged with the oft-injured Cruz to complete the trade.

I believe CBC would be a big help for TNT, this is the best team he is playing with and there's a big chance that he will win a championship.

Good luck to him.
Another Big trade and yes CBC will be a big help for TNT in the upcoming conference consider his experience in basketball. A three man trade is a big move for TNT just to have CBC, no pressure on this guy but hopefully its all worth it. TNT is trying to win another championship and they must really have a good and stronger team so they can succeed on this again, there's a chance for this.

If you really love basketball, you will really make a way for you to always do it and for Pingris he really did it. As long as he can still play some minutes then it will be all good and for sure, he will share his experiences in PBA to his fellow teammates. Good thing that he returned in MPBL. Maybe in the next years, some old players from PBA will follow what he did as well.

On other news, SMC really is doing unexpected trades as they did another one again.
They traded Kyle Pascual and Justin Melton for the 8th pick of the last draft which is James Laput, a 6'10" center from TerraFirma Dyip.

Sangalang is considered an undersized big and Reavis is already old. They really need a big that can help Sangalang defend the paint and getting Laput for the team is a great pick. Though Laput didn't played well when he is in Dyip, many believe that his size will be a big help with the team he lands. After all he is just 25 years old. Just let him practice and hone his skills and he will be a good back up center for Magnolia. With this trade, its obvious that Magnolia won the trade since Melton and Pascual isn't used by Mags that much. SMC really is afraid after getting swept by MVP last season Cheesy.
Kyle Pascual and Justin Melton are rarely used, so they better be traded to fill the disadvantage of the Magnolia. They are good in defense but they lack size, reason why they lose the last conference. Lots of trades have happened lately, I think we will still see more surprises in the next few days.

Sometimes players think that they can still play after retirement. They will just realize it after several months of being retired.

Marc Pingris do have a good decision to come back play. I think the reason why he retires in PBA is because of Covid-19 related issues. He didn't play in the 2020 PBA bubble because of his injury and he sees the difficulty playing in the bubble. When the league returned the later year, and expected it to be the same setup, rather than playing, he hung his jersey and never play to a bubble setup. As Danica Sotto's said, he will support his husband to whatever his decision. The way that statement was constructed, Pingris is still capable to play but there are issues around it.

Looking forward that his decision to come back is making sense.

There’s a lot of good players as well on MPBL and so underrated so this can still be hard ball for Marc but I also believe that there’s a good offer at a lesser pressure that’s why he choose to accept it. He’s still healthy and love to play basketball, its good that he accept it because MPBL has been the place for the players from PBA.

Marc Pingris still can play competitive basketball, the only thing that taken him aback in coming back to the PBA is the practice where he has to allot a lot of his precious time. Maybe in the MPBL, he has an agreement with the management that he would practice only on a minimal basis which I think is unfair to those young players who work hard but are not given ample playing minutes some game time.
