Oops...SMB loss to the DYIP by double digit, that's unbelievable...Now the next game will already be a do or die game for both teams. I'm surprise with the outcome, although I didn't watch the game but I was monitoring the score and see that DYIP was leading big time in every quarter, no quarter that SMB have won, and that's just amazing from a team that was rumored as a farm team.

But now we have the 2nd game, As expected, this is a close match up although Ginebra is already leading by 9 points, but I'm seeing this to be a close one as I believe Magnolia are not gonna give up easily.

It was okay in the first half but ROS don't have any counter plays when TNT start to dominates them, and the outcome as mentioned is a blowout win for TNT, there's  a need for a good adjustment from ROS if they want to extend their chance, they need to play more harder and try to work things out on both defense and offense side.

I'm expecting a close game on that match as TNT is undermanned and bang-up should we say but they blew out ROS with almost 20-point margin, coach Yeng must be so disappointed with his boys.

Two games for tonight but I will just bet on the main game.

And it looks like the elimination game will already start this Friday (tomorrow).

As we can see on the sched https://www.pba.ph/schedule...

We have NLEX vs Bolts and TNT vs Rain or shine.  I think both match ups are unpredictable, because I believe that all of them aren't playing consistent basketball, so I would just pick the underdog of the game which I think it will be the NLEX and ROS respectively.
This can be an exciting match up because it's unpredictable, we've seen their ups and downs but I think only those who are more eager to win will take the place. NLEX is getting better but yeah still inconsistent, if they are able to execute their plays well then they can have a good chance of winning here, so I'll go for NLEX as well. Though i still believe in TNT, and I think coming into this elimination they will play more as a team, and I'll place a bet with them because i believe this can be a win for them.

Meralco manage to win against NLEX both are incosistent like what you said but both did tried everything but the outcome turn in favor of Meralco, A huge prodcutions from Berto 48points but after him and Miranda there's no help that much unlike with Meralco where after Maliksi most of the players managed to share a double digits productions.

At the end of the game, it's  a team efforts who wins the game, even how hard Bolick did he can't single carried the entire team, almost but fell short.

The 4th quarter was the big difference, they lost in that quarter and probably because Bollick was already tired.

Imagine, Bollick scored 48 points and played over 40 minutes, its' really expected that he'll be tired in the 4th quarter. I think NLEX has to made sure to not allow Bollick to carry most of the load, this game is very important, good thing they still have a chance as it's a best of 3 series.

If we check the boxscore of the game. (https://pba.ph/recap?match=2444562), NLEX only had 2 players with double digit while Meralco had 6.

They need to adjust and make sure that Bollick will find someone who can help him producing decent numbers, someone who can make something decent which Meralco will also put their defense, unlike what happened today where it's mostly Bollick and we see him really tired and unable to catch up in the last few minutes, it's something that coach Pido needs to adjust he needs to find those role players to help just like how Meralco play them.
I think Bollick is not anymore under Pido, I just have to confirm and see that "Frankie Lim" is the coach of NLEX.
NLEX had a good coach I think as it was able to make Bollick stay consistent with his superstar production, but they should learn their lesson, this is a quarter finals match up,  one loss and their journey is over, so next game is really important for them and I think that time I'll be betting on the NLEX .

Thanks for correcting me, Yes it was coach Frankie lim who's coaching NLEX and like what you mentioned, they need to learn about this loss and make a good adjustment on their next game, it can be their last attempt as if they lose another game then Meralco will advance to the next round.

2nd game between TNT and ROS both are unpredictable let see who's going to win this match I like to see ROS just an opinion it's been a long time for them to move to the next round, let see if that is now possible to happen.

The first half was quite a competitive match, however, the 2nd half especially the 4th quarter was different as TNT exploded which resulted to a blowout win.

I had a small wager on NLEX and must admit I was REALLY disappointed about that 2nd half. They played so well in the first and then totally fell apart, as usual in the PBA. I see this so often, like every second game, that a team dominates the first half and then forgets how to play basketball.

And after losing the lead in the 4th quarter of course they come back to take the lead by 1 with 65 seconds to go ( to give false hope they might still win ) just to not score anymore in 3 or 4 possessions and lose by 4, hilarious.

Usually the first half was competitive but the good team always played well in the 2nd half where it's a winning time for them. I didn't watch the game but judging on the statistics, it was the TNT's great shooting night that gave them this win. Based on the stats, they shoot at 51% overall, that percentage is a winning percentage if the other team falls below to it, and in this game, the ROS shoots only 39%.

Well, this series is not over yet, maybe next time they'll pay attention to their defense as that's what killed them in this game.

one thing I noticed also, when Oftana is leading the team, they'll likely win, here he had 32 points and shoots 5-9 from beyond the arc.

You mean quarterfinals bro?  Cool
not really familiar with the format. So this quarter finals, wht is this, best of 5 or just a best of 3? or there's still a twice to beat advantage here?

This is a best-of-three series for NLEX vs Meralco and ROS vs TNT. SMB Beermen and Ginebra Kings got the twice to beat advantage which the games will start tomorrow against their respective opponents.

Betting for the underdog is a good choice as i agree that this matchups are very unpredictable. NLEX is the slight underdog against the Meralco Bolts but we have to note that Robert Bolick is back again playing for NLEX and he could lead this team to win against the Bolts. Meanwhile, ROS is a good bet also because the Tropang Giga is undermanned and pretty banged-up going into this playoffs.

My bets:

NLEX ML @2.22 vs Meralco
ROS [email protected] vs TNT

Good luck.

Yeah, that Bollick is really special, he can explode anytime that's why I also like their chances here. Getting 2.22  being the underdog, that's good because they just won their previous game, meaning they are back on the winning path. About the Ros vs TNN, why ROs is at -4.5? I don't understand the spread here/

Sorry for the error, that should be ROS -1.5 @2.06 as the odds for this game today is almost even.

I will pick NLEX as well. Bolts is not the same team anymore, I mean their offense are not flawless, and we know that both offense and defense should be effective in order to win. Though NLEX defense is not good as well, but I like their offense since they have a reliable go to guy which is Berto.

So based on standing, Bolts will have a twice to beat advantage, so NLEX has to win the first game or they'll be eliminated.

I tried to check the odds but it's not available yet.

NLEX should not lean only for berto but they need to come up with their resources,  if they continue putting that big burden to him opponent will focus the defense on him and  for sure there's always a  man for the job in each squad that they are competing against with.

I guess they didn't learn on this previous losses. they are still heavily relying on him, Berto now in NLEX is just the Donovan Mitchell of the Cavaliers, so let's see how they'll progress in the elimination match. Actually, NLEX is capable of beating strong teams as they had proven that by beating the Ginebra, and they can also play a defensive game as this game only has a total of 148 points, so it was a very defensive game.

On this particular game, only Bollick who were able to score at least 20 points from all the players, he scored 25 from 10-24 shooting, or 30% of the total team attempt.

Good comparison, seems that a good defensive stop will lead them losing the game, if there's no one who can provide them numbers that will let them survive then there's no chance for them to reach the finals or if ever they manage to reach the finals and who's waiting for them? SMB? Gin Kings or maybe TNT? those are teams that have solid cores, meaning to say that they are complete with both defense and offense, though TNT is not that tough as how they are before but still got that rotations that will give their opponents a hard competition to win, but then again, lets wait for the next round and see how NLEX will adjust and how they will continue their campaign for this season.

NLEX can't beat the SMB with how they are playing. SMB can easily minimize the production of Berto and the offense will already shutdown. Though  the NLEX are fun to watch with Berto but they aren't a championship team yet, maybe if Berto will join a championship team, that will be the time that he'll win a championship for his own. I think the best team for him to land would be the Ginebra so he would also get a help to improve his defense.

Or maybe he's preparing his departure to TNT hehehe, without Williams the team is struggling and for sure if a trade take place Berto is also fits with how coach Chot directing his system, keep attacking the basket and try to outrun your opponents which mostly the way Berto playing the game, with NLEX, there's no way that he can single carry this team against the those super teams in this league.

That's how boring this league now, as any moment trade can be done, and in just a glimpse of an eye you'll see players being transferred to another team that will create them big impacts.

On this particular game, only Bollick who were able to score at least 20 points from all the players, he scored 25 from 10-24 shooting, or 30% of the total team attempt.

It's Sunday, a day for Ginebra as it's expected that the fans will come.

On our first game, we have the TNT vs Magnolia,  both teams needs to win for positioning especially for TNT who loss on their last game. However, by saying that it doesn't mean that I'll be betting on them. I saw their weakness on the last game so I'm rooting for Magnolia here to win.

The betting spread are as follows.

TNT +1.5
Magolia -1.5

The 2nd game, it's NLEX vs Ginebra, and Ginebra is slightly favored by -3.5

TNT managed to win against Mags while NLEX upset the crowd favorite, it's really tough to bet even how careful you analyze the game and what's the capabilities and the advantages of each teams against their opponents, upset really happen, Not sure what happen with Ginebra seems that they can't make a good game play with that so very low scoring game, they can easily use the twin towers against the small line up of NLEX.
I was wrong picking the Magnolia but I was never wrong that TNT have some weakness, it's just that they played better this game and got the win. Better luck next time for me, I'm sure Magnolia are going to come back and we will have an exciting elimination games coming soon.

Berto exploded again with 25 points though he's known of doing that, a leader who really play tough games and loves the competition.

Congrats to whoever place a bet for NLEX money line sure thing that it deserves a celebration!

That was necessary because they were on a losing streak, they needed that win to gain confidence in the elimination round. I thought they'll win comfortably but they also have some weakness, Ginebra displayed their never say die attitude in the 4th quarter and almost completed a comeback win.

Lucky for them as the time already short for the gin kings though like you said they need this win to gain confidence , it's really important for each players to play everything if they wanted to make it and take the next round, it's a hard competition for them as all those teams who are on the top are really got something to counter them and give tough competition,

NLEX should not lean only for berto but they need to come up with their resources,  if they continue putting that big burden to him opponent will focus the defense on him and  for sure there's always a  man for the job in each squad that they are competing against with.
