the guards should score more to lessen the need for Japeth to contribute from the offensive stats.
It's time for Stanley Pringle to carry this team, I know he can do that with the support of his teammates, IMO, he is the most capable of producing good offence in the team as he is not afraid to attract the paint and that is the thing they should focus since GSM is not really a good 3 point shooting team.

Yeah! They look more composed right now but who knows they will have a big problem in the future.
Like most of the teams now, their problem are injuries so hopefully that would not happen to them as it's not really fun to witness players injured.
In terms of chemistry, they are doing very well now and Japeth has really improve and he will improve more as he will play a lot of minutes this coming conference.
With extended minutes chances of having some health issues will take place, Japeth needs to have some balance minutes and the rotation should be more focused from the outside they've needed Japeth from both ends offensive and defensive area, the guards should score more to lessen the need for Japeth to contribute from the offensive stats.

Baranggay Ginebra now is quite scary for all-Filipino cup especially when Jun Mar Fajardo got injured.
Baranggay Ginebra will really make a huge work here.

Btw, speaking of centers; Christian Standhardinger center for NorthPort Batang Pier is also one of my watchlists, Christian Standhardinger on NortPort is pretty suitable and can play comfortably.
I'm an SMB fan but TBH, there is a high chance that Ginebra will win this All Filipino Cup and end the era of SMB in this Conference.

With the loss of Standhardinger, include also what happened to June Mar, Lassiter and now Romeo who got a sprain when they are up against the Alaska Aces, I don't think that they are that strong enough to defend their crown and we also saw how Ginebra played last conference especially how Aguilar played. Even they don't have Slaughter, he is just a bench and he contributes a few on the team (for me).
I agree, plus the fact that the Daredevil will now be added on Ginebra's force then I think everything is now even more possible Cheesy. Hmm, looks like there's a new All Star Team in town lol. Kidding aside, let's just chill for now. It is still a very long journey for all of them. Ginebra's victory here is not yet 100% assured. Yeah! They look more composed right now but who knows they will have a big problem in the future.

NorthPort and TNT are the ones to watch for right now especially NorthPort. CStand is playing well on his current team right now.

It's not good for the team seeing one of those star are being added to their injury list and will be bench till prior advise from their doctors.

Hopefully this is not a serious injury like Fajardo suffered, if this needs an operation I doubt Romeo could ever play the coming conference and SMB's chance of winning will again decrease.

SMB preseason jinx continues as Terrence Romeo injures ankle

Quote
TERRENCE Romeo is the latest to get struck with the recent string of bad luck for San Miguel as he hurt his right ankle during a tuneup game against Alaska.

The flamboyant guard just hit a tough leaner over JVee Casio just before the halftime break when he tripped on an exercise equipment in the baseline.

It's another tough break for the Beermen, which will already lost June Mar Fajardo for the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup due to a fractured right tibia.

There are 3 SMB stars already injured.

1-Fajardo
2-Lassiter
3-Romeo
Another star being injured, knowing the stats  Romeo is providing to this franchise, without Fajardo it's expected that he will bring good numbers as he is known to be a Legit scorer.
It's not good for the team seeing one of those star are being added to their injury list and will be bench till prior advise from their doctors.

The move of Greg was also able to give benefit on his teammate Caperal.

https://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/with-slaughter-a-big-question-mark-ginebra-signs-caperal-to-new-deal-a793-20200220?ref=home_hybrid_1

I believe if this guy will be given minutes, he can show that he is a legit big man who can score and depend at the same time.
He was not given good minutes but when he played, he can bank shots when needed, I remember in the past when he plays, I saw that he has a good stroke on perimeter shots and a good 3 point shooter as well as a big man.

Yeah he adds more fire power to GSM and the organization is more exciting to see in next conference.

They are signing him that means they are giving him a chance to prove himself more, I am not sure how much he will make them but I am pretty sure it's not a max contract. Japeth will become their legit big man then since Greg is out, what a mess, people are not expecting this to happen, the rumor was to trade him but now they aren't getting anything.

It's been a while and like what others opinions, Management is more powerful than the coaches so if there's a call above things will happen no matter what.
Expect this all Filipino conference to more intense and not so easy to predict.
I like to believe that since the dominant big men are out. Greg (for good) Fajardo (for whole season).

They have a lot of talents which can dominate in every side of the court and what more scarier is japeth is getting more confidence after the last season and for sure the next season will be more exciting especially when they plan to use caperal after the departure of greg.

and anyway Erram has a great future infront of him so if this is Hes path then better be done now.
In terms of salary I think he will enjoy a good salary as there's only a little competition in his position unlike in other positions, like Guards and forward position. Now, he will just have to focus on winning so aside from having a good salary, he will also have a great achievement if he can win a championship contributing to his current team now.
that is what he must do,after being trade he need to show the team who picked Him that they did a right  decision having  Him and also he must find the rhythm of the new team how can he execute each game.

And if a player can't handle Guiao then how they will face the most pressure experienced in the PBA which are being on a verge of elimination, to be in the knock-out game, and to be in the Finals.

you got a point there and  that is indeed,i hope he will be better in His new team now.

He's arrival will help TNT a lot, Knowing that he also a offensive player who can shoot outside will fit with TNT's system.
That's remains to be seen, when a team acquired for a player, they are expecting they can help to their team but it is still a gamble as there is no assurance that expectation will be meet, the fact that he was traded, NLEX did not meet their expectation to Erram.

And to my knowledge, TNT's approach to their player is much stricter compare to NLEX, even stricter than Guiao. Smiley

I can tell they are, they have a coach in the name of Bong Ravena but it seems like it wasn't him who are calling shots for the team, it was Mark Dickel.
TNT is so desperate, they hire a consultant which actually their coach but they still have not become a championship team.

Because of my curiosity, I made a research on why Dickel looks like the one coaching the team, and I found the answer here.

https://www.spin.ph/life/guide/why-mark-dickel-can-t-be-named-tnt-coach-even-if-he-calls-shots-a793-20190623

Why can't foreign coaches be officially named head coaches in Philippines?
The BCAP, you see, got a favorable ruling from the Court of Appeals back in 2002 prohibiting foreign coaches from assuming head-coaching positions in the PBA - a job which it determined can be competently performed by a Filipino, as per Article 40 of the Labor Code.

The rule specifies that employment permit can only be issued upon ‘the determination of the non-availability of a person in the Philippines, who is competent, able and willing at the time of application to perform the services for which the alien is desired.’

obviously it is mate, because just like what said in quote above Guiao is not just a Coach but also the decision maker so whatever he made is final and this scolding may be the cause of the said issue.

Decision-maker but not the one who will execute the final decision for the roster maneuvering. It's done in the right process and team management maybe asks Guiao if what else should be done on their roster. I think there is no way Guaio will just ask to remove Erram in the roster. They need to fix a hole. Maybe Erram is really not with the system.

His salary is around average so no difference. TNT really needs a big man so he will be used much compare to NLEX. He just needs to show his best. And to my knowledge, TNT's approach to their player is much stricter compare to NLEX, even stricter than Guiao. Smiley

New update regarding the Erram Trade

Why the hell is NLEX trading Poy Erram to TNT? Let's dig deeper

Quote
So why trade Erram?

Speculations on social media pinned the blame on a supposed falling-out between Erram and Guiao, who in one viral video last season was seen giving the big man an earful in one of his rants in one game last year.

SO do you think that the reason why he is traded to TNT?

SO do you think that the reason why he is traded to TNT?

I saw that game where coach Guiao is so mad with Erram and he scolded him in front of the camera but they said that is not the reason for Erram to get out of NLEX in fact as the article said, Erram doesn't want to leave NLEX and the decision of this trade came from the higher management. TNT is the team that would benefit the arrival of Erram as they don't have a legit post operator.

Quote

Remember, Guiao is not only coach but also the general manager of the NLEX basketball team, meaning he has the final say on all major decisions, most of all player movements, made by this MVP-owned team.

Well then, that is very professional of them, maybe he wasn't really effective with the style of NLEX, this team is really good in offense but they always lack some good defense, I think that's what they need to improve and they need a center maybe who can secure the rebound with higher percentage and can block shots, like JMF if possible, but the question is, who would give that to them?
