Let's try that strategy which is betting against the public on games tomorrow.

Maybe let's help each other here to determine which side is on the public.

Game 1 : ROAD WARRIORS -2.5 vs BLACKWATER BOSSING +2.5

Game 2 : Bolts +2.5 vs Ginebra -2.5

My personal analysis, on game 1, the public bet will be on the Warriors -2.5, so the pick should be on Bossing. And on the 2nd game, it's obvious that Ginebra will get the public attraction, so the Pick will be Bolts +2.5.

Does it make sense?

A pressure for the handicappers? Lucky for those who turned agaisnt Magnolia as what you mentioned,  they let DYIP to score and cover the handicap,  they just aimed for the win and stop putting that points for the score board, which is unusual I mean not for magnolia,  as I said they are known to cover the handicap especially if they are in the lead.

That rig issue for some bettors will come up and we can't blame them to think that way, but nothing that they can do but to move forward, just another day to reassess for the next coming games.

I thought that was money in the bag already as who would have thought that from 30 point lead, it goes down to just 13. I'm not a believer that there are riggings in the PBA but with what happened last night, I'm starting to believe that there must be something wrong with that game.
Now you can consider a possible rigging the next time you analyze your bet. Usually in rig game, those who losses are the public bettors, means, that time it was the Magnolia who are the public bet as everyone believe Magnolia will easily beat the DYIP with a huge margin. To make it look like an exciting game, and in fact it excites the magnolia bettors at the beginning because it was a clear win already, but damn, that 4th quarter was completely what they are trying to make it happen.

BTW, before that game started there was somewhat an acknowledgment that "Arena Plus" is one of the sponsors of PBA, what a coincidence.

Pardon me, I'm a bit confuse, how was it (Arena Plus) related to sports rigging?

Keep holding @bisdak40, we got this!

Lol, yeah, I think our bet is in good hands now as Magnolia's lead almost ballooned to 30 points. DYIP has no answer to the balanced scoring of the Hotshots. Tyler Bey I think is a good candidate for this conference's Best Import Award as he average a double-double every game.

They say that it's not over until it is over but with this one, money in the bag for Magnolia Hotshots and a win for both of us @Sanitough hehe.

Unfortunately the rig show striked again. Sorry guys, you both lose your bets as Magnolia only manage to win by 13 points after a huge 30 points lead.

PBA at it's finest, just by looking at the scoring in the 4th quarter, you can already tell that they are trying to achieve here.

13-31 -- MAGNOLIA quit and gave the handicap to DYIP.

Yeah you are right that mate as we can see that magnolia is ahead of 30+ in  that game but when the fourth band final quarter will come  I think magnolia players play it easy and not in their best as we all know that  DYIP push their score in the end of the game into almost single digits. But magnolia still won the match, congratulations for the gamblers who bet on magnolia teams. Anyways there are many. games upcoming so let's stay tuned.

Nevertheless, I will still be for the second game hoping I could recover my first game loss.

Magnolia -13.5 @1.75 vs DYIP

We are on the same boat here, the only difference was I go for higher odds with -14.5.

So far, I can say that the decision was right because Magnolia is currently leading by 12 points already in the first quarter.  I know there's still more quarters to be played but its always fun to witness our team that are having a comfortable lead early.

This is a bounce back game, I'm sure they won't give this away.

It's looking safe now, 57-38 is the halftime score. That's a 19 point lead by Magnolia, if they will take care of that lead even if DYIP would have a big run, the spread you guys bet on will give an easy win. Good luck to both of you, I hope this isn't like the games before that a winning team tried to relax in the 2nd half and just allow the heavy underdog to cover the handicap.

Under 5 mins now and the lead jump high to almost 30points, I think even the bench players of Mags can keep that huge lead, let see as you mentioned that there's always possibilities if the heavy favorite will just relax out and let the underdog to cover, but knowing Mags, they are good in keeping the distance. They'll keep attacking and most of the time they will counter back any attempts of rally from their opponent.

One more quarter and we will see if both bets will win,. Chance is high but still the final buzzer will conclude it all.

That's why I was too earger in taking a higher spread for a higher odds. Now, I'm kinda regretting, I should have taken higher than what I took for an odds at least 2.00. So now, another 7-0 run, I think this night belongs to the Magnolia backers.

Good luck to both of you, I hope this isn't like the games before that a winning team tried to relax in the 2nd half and just allow the heavy underdog to cover the handicap.

Thanks, appreciate it.. and don't worry if DYIP will have a run as it's not new to us gamblers, but hopefully not tonigh.

I agree with you, Bollick wasn't playing his usual game last time, so I'm sure they will make a huge adjustment this game.
IIRC, they were able to compete with the Meralco last game but only in the first half. It was a close contest after the first half but the big difference came in the 3rd quarter as Meralco outscored them big time, they only score 16 while Meralco had 33 points, that's a game changing that wasn't on their favor.

Bollick is not with NorthPort anymore kabayan, he was traded to NLEX.

Lost my bet on the first game as NorthPort didn't sustain their lead in the first three quarters.

Nevertheless, I will still be for the second game hoping I could recover my first game loss.

Why not just do a parlay? That way you will not miss the opportunity to bet.  Smiley

It's good to parlay if you will decide to play the next game if you win, but for me, I woudn't bet on the moneyline which is 1.12 only. Magnolia lose on their previous game, so against the weakest team in the PBA now, I think they'll win and cover the spread.

That's up to bisdak to decide, I'm just suggesting though in a form of question? Smiley

The current spread is -12.5, I think this only signifies that we are gonna see another blowout win by the Magnolia Hotspots. Therefore, personally I would take this early as I have a feeling that the line will move to as high as -14.5 nearing game time.

Magnolia are good in winning via blowout, and they are not happy with the outcome of their previous game as they lose to the ROS in a close game.

Prior to that, here are the results of the Magnolia Games.

Vs SMB, win by 4 points
Vs Bossing, win by 21 points
Vs NLEX, win by 27 points

Since DYIP is probably just on the same level with the current status of NLEX and Bossing, most likely Magnolia will win by 20 or more.

Back to the things on why we are here  Grin.

Phoenix Fuel Masters ML @1.51 vs NorthPort Batang Pier ML @2.44
Magnolia ML @1.12 vs DYIP ML @5.50

^^ That's the two games tomorrow, of the two games, i think NorthPort has the bigger chance of upsetting the favorites so i'll go for them

For me if PBA players are earning as low as 30k and some are not getting paid at all it indicates  struggles 100%. Possible reasons could be poor management (like change the current commissioner) or a drop in the league's income. To fix this they might need better revenue sharing, more sponsorships and financial rules to ensure fair pay. Improving the league's structure and marketing can also help financially.

PBA is not struggling in terms of finances. Way back pandemic, they even stated that they could afford to play for 2 seasons with a really costly bubble conference. The PBA is backed up by giant companies and those companies own those popular and talented players in the league.
They aren't struggling but in terms of profitability, the business is not anymore profitable because the audience they are expecting are not watching anymore. Specially now that Brownlee is injured, that's for sure would result to Ginebra missing the PBA Finals, unless the PBA will try to do some magic and make them reach there.

KIA and Blackwater can't pay their players the same as big giants in the league. Therefore, these players have to work for their improvement for them to be able to be scouted by giant teams. That's the reason why small teams in PBA won't grow as competitive because those talented players who got drafted by these small teams have no choice but to accept a better offer by giant teams. Loyalty is useless if these players will only paid small.

I think there should be a standard of salary, because if these two teams can't pay their players, they can only get a team that aren't competitive, which overall make the PBA not a balance league.

Guys, I wanna share with you the video I saw about the statement of Mac mac Cardona. I'm sure you all know that he was a PBA player before, and his statement is very negative, however it seem like it has reflect what is happening now.

According to him, the PBA players value now have dropped compared to the past, and that started when Kia and Blacktubig came in to the league. He said that there are players who are just paid 30k per month, and some are not even paid, just playing voluntarily waiting for an opportunity to get paid. So speaking of 30k, I think this is too low for a basketball pro playing in a popular league.

So, I like to hear some of your thoughts regarding this, you do think the PBA has been struggling already? And please share some possible reasons and its solutions base on your opinion.

PBA as a business. I don't think they are struggling. I personally think that it's more about the franchise owners and the way they handle their players. PBA survives as they are being paid decently by these two giant companies who continue to enjoy the privilege. I'm not bitter, but that's reality, it's been a while when good teams have already surrendered the competition against MVP and SMC, unlike before where we really witnessed competition against teams who are playing for pride and not just for the money.

PBA is struggling in terms of viewership and fans leaving the league and now enjoying other alternative leagues where they find competitions, like MBPL. I like the way Cardona share that sad reality with players who wanted to share their talent, but the team who brought  them in is not capable of providing the aid that supposedly deserves for those talents.

We might see them playing in another league or if, by chance, an offer overseas, they will be happy to grab that opportunity not to waste their talents and use them for much better financial stability.
