Next fixtures of the AFCON (January 10 2022)

Senegal vs Zimbabwe - Senegal to win (2-0)
Guinea vs Malawi - Both teams to score
Morocco vs Ghana - Should offer an interesting game of football, both teams to score, but Ghana winning (1-2)
Comoros vs Gabon - Gabon to win (0-1)

(drop your prediction)

For some reason, it seems to me that despite the moderate odds (1.4), Senegal should win 4-0 or something like that. Maybe I'll bet on their victory with a -2 handicap.
Guinea vs Malawi - 2:0 but this is a random match and it is dangerous to bet here
Morocco vs Ghana - competitive match, probably Morocco wins 1-0
Comoros vs Gabon - like the second match on the list, it is random and I will refrain from betting here.

Vicent Aboubarkar or Cameroon already he highest goal scorer, scoring from the penalty twice.
The twenty nine year's old has got he's eyes of the golden boot already.
The stats shows they did better to Burkina Faso.....who noticed Chupomutong of Bayern Munich ?

The group stage starts today for group B and C. Senegal versus Zimbabwe is a bonus for gamblers but the odd can be low, I have not checked it today, but the chance that Senegal will win the match is over 90%, I will prefer half time win for this game to maximise the odds. Morocco versis Ghana will be an very tough game, but though it is just group stage. About the other countries, I do not know much about them.

Oh yes, the Senegal versus Zimbabwe match is going to be a walk in the park for the Lions of Teranga. In AFCON 2017, Senegal beat  Zimbabwe by 2 goals. In fact they have always emerged the winners in any match with Zimbabwe. Morocco is a formidable team, however, I'll place my bet on Ghana. The first half will be tough as the team will try to balance each other out but the real game starts in the second half. My prediction for this game is a 2 -1.

Senegal to win pays around 1.3 which should be around 80%. Morocco vs Ghana is the most open match, however Morocco is slightly favored. They had a friendly match last year which ended with a win for Morocco (1-0). I expect a close match with not too many goals. Unfortunately the market as well, less than 2.5 goals only pays ~1.4  Grin)
The other two matches are more clear towards Guinea and Gabon.

So the AFCON officially kicked off yesterday and it was an interesting match to watch as the host emerge victories. I noticed something on the ad board and had to go to the binance exchange, official twitter page to confirm this sponsorships. Heard rumors before the tournament started that Binance are getting involved after some Nigerian celebraties got endorsement deals from the exchange but I wasn't sure. This is a very smart move from Binance, not only has Binance given more awareness to the industry. Atleast those who has heard about cryptocurency can get a second thought to go research again as this sponsorship is definitely getting the attention of the Africans as well, bring more users to the binance exchange. Very smart move to be honest.

In regards to the matches, if you couldn't watch them no worries I'll keep the thread updated on scorelines through images so you can keep up to date. What are your prediction for the upcoming matches?

Cabo verde 1 - 0 Etiopia

with Ethiopia playing with 10 players and it is almost certain that Cape Verde will win this game,
I knew that It was only a matter of time before Cape Verde gets a goal after that red card against Ethiopia's Yared Baye in the first few minutes of play. A really terrible way for Ethiopia to start this competition, hopefully they can improve play before they play the host Cameron next. So far in the competition, we have see penalties, rough tackles and even red cards from the first and second game, i hope it doesn't turn out to be a rough competition that will have players afterwards returning to their respective club teams with injury challenges.

Onana made a big blunder today during his match with Cameroon. Not really good for his market value if he makes more mistakes like this. Cameroon is certainly one of the contenders for a medal of honor, but it is all pretty close to each other in the top. Senegal should certainly not be smoothed out with Mane from Liverpool. And we should not forget Egypt with Sallah.

Well am impressed with the first half score line between Cameroon and Burkina Faso.
Good to see Cameron the host country setting the pace here, leading Burkina faso by two goals to one, a very tender lead that i hope they can secure because Burkina faso is looking intent to get an equaliser. I am also happy that it is not a goalless start to the competition and great news for those who played the game "Both to score", I'm looking forward to the full time score, still expecting to see more goals.

Well am impressed with the first half score line between Cameroon and Burkina Faso, I think it was entertaining and I least expected that in a nations cup game 3 goals would be scored in the first half, I really hope other African nations cup game goes this way, but I am predicting a win for Cameroon although this might be their weakest first eleven in recent generation, they would go far but they should be out probably during the quarter finals or so.

According to this report CAF has increased the number of substitutions in a match to 5 players amidst the increasing numbers of Covid-19 cases, recall many of the participating countries had some infected players, funny enough one of the rules stated if a country could not produce eleven players in a particular match may be due to covid-19 that team should have considered losing the match 2-0, covid-19 is really having an impact on this upcoming African Nation Cup some key players might not taste action or sidelined due to the pandemic thus such matches wouldn't be competitive to watch.

I think the probability that the team will not be able to find 11 players to start the match is extremely low, however, theoretically it is possible and if this happens it will be a complete failure of the tournament organizers. I can hardly imagine what consequences this will entail, as it will affect many areas - television, where there are already plans to show matches, advertising revenues, etc.

Let's keep our predictions coming,as we await for the start of the game.

What's your prediction for the today's game ?

 Grin

if someone loves the money they have then they will be careful in trying to predict these games, those teams of years ago that were good teams in Africa no longer exist, what we have today are teams of very low quality, for example, the Cameroon is weak , even my country's team can beat Cameroon sometimes, another point is that these games won't have many goals, most of the time they ended less than 3 goals, I think that maybe the only market that works for betting is the under market.

Vaccinized.. immunity level is full.
There is the Cameroon game today at afternoon and we will see if this January weather will really affect the competition but I think it will not.Cameroon and most other African countries rely strongly on physical conditions of the players and usually they have better physical condition compared to other competitions.
Many people think that Cameroon team is the favorite in this match. But the Burkina Faso team is not weak. I have checked the performance of some of their past matches. They have drawn three of their last four matches against Cameroon and won one. Today's match is more likely to be a draw.

Ethiopia vs Cape Verde is another game where Cape Verde should win without problems.Ethiopia has just not the players needed to be able to compete high during this competition.
The match between Ethiopia vs Cape Verde is also expected to be exciting. The two teams seemed equally strong to me. But I think Ethiopia might be able to win this match. They will win 1-0 or 2-1

You said it all. Africa leaders are the problem  of soccer  In Africa, they never put interest in soccer , no investment  I'm soccer in the past and today it is affecting Africans and becoming a problem to Africans.
I don't think the leaders are to blame alone, there is massive and widespread corruption in almost all sectors of the government and also in governing bodies bodies for African football. There is indication of corruption from election of the president, to appointment of coaches, there is corruption from the approval of Stadiums and facilities for games to the procurement of good quality equipment to ensure quality coverage. There is corruption in the selection of game officials and featuring players. The cost of game tickets at times is not even made affordable for the average individual to encourage more live spectators for games. I believe these are all contributing factors as well, reducing the quality of African football, because Africa is not short of talents.

I'm from Africa and in my country, for example, in January there is rain and the league is stopped because of the holidays, this January calendar has always been a reason for disagreement, this is more tradition than the weather, many African leagues have already complained about this January calendar that should change to June or July, even my country has complained about this January calendar. in any case what we will see will be a poor quality soccer unfortunately
Exactly!

I hope they change the timing with which they play AFCON in the coming years, otherwise it will continue to be less popular. For example, I am a soccer fanatic, but I don't even know who the current reigning Champions of AFCON are, minus consulting google.  Shocked

It gets bad when players have to choose between their European league teams or the home country teams  Angry

unfortunately African leaders are only driven by money and political power they do nothing for the benefit of people, we have this case of AFCON for example if we ask hundreds of people from Africa if they can choose to watch games in barcelona, real madrid, games of premier league and serie A or at the same time choose AFCON games they will choose to watch games from serie A, premier league or barcelona and real madrid, I would choose european league games myself and the reason is simple: the games of the European leagues has high quality.

What happens with those corrupt shitty African leaders, they want to force people to stop watching the European games to watch AFCON. this has been obvious for years, African leaders are not concerned with promoting soccer, it doesn't make sense to play in January and compete in the audience with the Europeans when we know we don't have good quality soccer thanks to extreme corruption in Africa
