If you realize this then I think you should have a backup plan for your property instead of investing all in such an altcoin. Investing in altcoin is very profitable but the risk is also due to altcoin is not stable and vulnerable to the impact of the market, the activities of the prices of large investors. I think you should have at least 2 coin to invest, which should have a stable coin like bitcoin or Etherum. This will help you recover your capital if altcoin is heavily discounted.

Of course it's very risky. I think it is better to distribute your funds 50 percent in bitcoin and other 50 in 2-3 altcoins.

This is not only risky but also dangerous. Of course, it is better to split an asset (no matter of investing amount). The market is too volatile and unstable. And despite a large choice, you can minimize the risks, and give preference to more stable alts. Even if it's only $500, 50% for bitcoin, the rest is for alts.

This is a very risky move. I think you should spread the risk. So you have to make a basket. At least divide by 3 coins. This is a much more logical move.

keeping some of the money in Ethereum can save you from harm and I recommend that you deposit 2 different altcoin

Hi,
the altocoin market is so variuous and there are dozen of interesting projects that can be supported.

But  i'm a little investor (500$) and i'm seriously thinking to put all my money in only 1 project I think is very good which curretly is in the top 40 of altcoins. I don't want to say the name because my topic wants to be very general: what do you think is the risk  by doing so? Should I invest in 2 or 3 coins instead?

Thanks

would be very risky if you only invest in one coin, but if you want to speculate, the decision is in your hands, because I would prefer if I invest in a maximum of 3 projects, as a backup if their project estimation is not as promised

Of course, it's too risky.

I don't know if you are still reading here but, after 7 months I would love to hear if you invested in that coin and which one that was. Smiley

Even though I consider that if you want to create money seriously here, x100 x1000 you should put all your money in some niche currency that for some reason (whether speculation or utility) explodes from one moment to the next and increases its value in a highly multiplicative way, but of course, that's if you want to get rich from one day to the next, but I think you'll have more chances winning the lottery, if you want less but more stable profits you should have a good portfolio of the top 10 coinmarket currencies.

A big risk if we just focused in one portfolio. because if they scam atupun fall in price then we will also lose big enough. different if we can go to some portfolio, the possibility for scam is not too big with just focus with one portfolio

Hello! With the coming quantum technologies, the current market must experience many changes. To be more exact, many coins will leave the market, as there will simply be no demand for them, due to the same technological superiority. Important, without certain experience, Trading and Hodling are risky. The most acceptable method of investing at the moment is ICO. For a more successful contribution, you need to carefully analyze the project. Identify is necessary for the market side. For example, the Kelvin Blockchain project has an innovative method of encryption, transmission, storage, and security. All this is based on quantum computing. Thus becoming in demand in the future.

I think that regardless of the amount you're investing you should have a balanced investment approach. This means investing a bulk in a few strong projects and a minor portion in some riskier projects. Look at it this way... assume you get 10x out of your investment and now have 5k... would you still want all of it in one coin? Balance is always better and helps spreads out risk in the event that your 500$ investment goes down 90% on the flipside.

Except for BTC and ETH, all are at risk. If the market is stable right now, we can not trust it.
If all the funds that were planned to spend on the crypto currency to invest in one coin, then this is equivalent to Russian roulette. The risk of losing everything is very large. Of course this does not apply to the ETH coin.

yes. indeed. It does not bring safety that way. I will never leave all my possessions on a ship. Therefore, diversify the fund to hold three to five coins.

It's very risky. If you invest all in one altcoin all your eggs will be in one basket, if the market for that coin goes down you will loose your money and when the market for that coin goes up you will be limited to the level of profit that coin yields you but if you diversify your investment your profit ratio will increase and your loss ratio will decrease because their markets will not all be down at the same time. You make profit with some while you wait for the others the gain.

Even if you are a small investor, in cryptos it is never safe to put all your money in one coin because of the high volatility. Always put at least 40% in some large cap and a popular coin anyone among the top 5. This helps in hedging the risk because usually the large cap coins can overcome the dumps in long run and can sustain their value. This helps in at least saving the principal amount if trade goes wrong.

Risky or not depends on the altcoin and the company that makes it. For general, it is risky to invest your money into 1 option only, but if that option has potential, great future then why not. But you must know that every investment is risky, no matter how good that investment is. At least, if you choose the right one, though the market is collapsing, you won't worry.

Well yes it is pretty risky to put all your money into one project, though with 500$ it does become difficult to diversify to much. however despite this you should still divide your money into at least 2-3 tokens for some safety.
Perhaps keep say 30-40% in ether or some other big name ALT that is relatively safe. Perhaps Moenro/Dash/NEO or so. The balance could be kept into a few riskier alts where you could get better returns.

Make a contribution to one coin only if you are the author of the project!)) Or you have insider information from reliable sources that the project is not fraudulent and his team is serious. I hope that the author listened to the unanimous opinion of the forum participants and did not lose his investments!

Of course this is too risky but it depends on your money. If you have 50-100 or 200$. You can take risk and maybe you can will be rich man. I can give example myself. I bought xvg at 95 sats and sell 1500 sats. I was very lucky but after that i did a box for different coins.
