I think it has good income potential, dont get me wrong, but still without a price (im assuming itll be between $900-$1,100) and without even an estimated delivery date, we are still really in the dark at this point. Discussing projected income is nothing more than pure speculation because BTC or LTC price can skyrocket or dive by the time the hardware comes out or any number of other things that have been known to happen in crypto. haha

Yep and it has been shown that where there is profit corporate miners will blow up the difficulty, leaving home miners in the dust.

Pre-Ordering anything is a sucker bet at this point, if it were ever anything else, as is the majority of hardware, unfortunately.

No money in mining anymore, IMO.  Do it for fun, fine, but nobody should expect to make any sort of money whatsoever.

If I had my choice I'd go back to mining with graphics cards.  There was something fun about building your own rig and messing with it.  that was a hobby at least, you didn't have to drop a bazillion dollars to do it and at least were left with a kick ass gaming computer at the end of the day.

Update 23/6/2015

SF100 dual-mode miner has 24 SF3301 chips, with the running modes as following:

  • Dual mining mode, Bitcoin hashing power 1700 GHS + Litecoin hashing power 47 MHS, the power consumption at wall of whole miner is 960W.
  • Bitcoin single mining mode: Hashing power 1700 GHS, power consumption 770W.
  • Litecoin single mining mode: Hashing power 47 MHS, power consumption 180W.

Well, it looks like Alpha-T isn't going to get a profitable unit out the door before the competition makes them irrelevant.  Good luck with the lawsuits everyone.

There is no price or expected delivery on the SF100 yet nor are you allowed to purchase single units... MOQ of 100 units so I dont think that announcement changes much haha

That's who you're competing against.  It will very much matter.

With 0.45W/GHS + 3.8W/MHS, the power efficiency of SF100 is showing really good potential. It is also possible to overclock to certain extent (Sha-256: 2 THS, Scrypt: 55 MHS). Based on recent Bitcoin and Litecoin price, a dual-mode SF100’s revenue is similat to that of a to a 2.8-3.2 THS pure Bitcoin miner, which makes it equivalent to 0.3-0.34W/GHS power efficiency when it is dual mining. Taking June 19th price for instance, one SF100 generates 4.2 USD from Bitcoin and 3.8 USD from Litecoin, or a total 8 USD per day (without the costs for electricity deducted).

Don't think it is going to get you a great income, at $8 per day less electricity costs.

Although I want efficient, I really just want the miner period. lol

I'm fully paid up, but at the moment they mine less coins than they burn in elec.
Unless some fool on ebay pays you more than what folk are selling boxes of titans for, this is an expensive room heater now.

I (personaly) couldn't give 1 f**k if they deliver or not at this point. Either way profit vanished a long time ago.

Regardless of the ability to overclock them, this is yet another way that Alpha-T has not delivered the product they stated they were going to, in the timeframe they said they would deliver them. These shysters need to be shut down, permanently...and taken for every penny they scammed.

Anyone know what the power consumption is on these beasts? Last calc it was around 14W, now that they need to be overclocked to reach the advertised hash rate probably pushing 20W per 1Mh/s. That's double the power usage of their competition. Maybe they should wait another year while they make more changes to it. To ensure the customer gets the best possible product.

Was that jet engine in the video the sound of the actual miner?

I'm sure if they could have shown a device running at 250Mh/s they would have. Plus it looks like the same old beat up case from the previous videos, implying they only have one case made. Hilarious, these guys are absolutely hilarious.

These guys are hilarious. They are delivering a device that hashes at 180Mh/s but can be "overclocked" to reach 250Mh/s...further increasing power consumption, which is EXACTLY what their customers wanted. Right? So much crowing about having the most efficient chip available...laughable claims, now. With SFARDS out there selling their new chips, Alpha Technology "stakeholders" won't see a dime from the "bulk chip sales" Mohammed was talking about, months back. He won't find any takers. This company will be going tits-up.

It doesn't change a thing, Mohammed, you'll be seeing my solicitor in Manchester court shortly.

I have yet to see anyone say they were refunded their final payment. Every report I've read has been a refund via PayPal, for pre-order payments. Nothing on final payments and nothing significantly large. I was going to be party to a winding up petition, but I decided I was throwing good money after bad...I expect that these weasels have hidden every dime and have no assets to sell off in a "winding up" because they've outsourced everything. It started to feel that the likelihood of being able to get paid back was very small and I wouldn't be able to recover legal fees, so...I stopped pursuing it.
