Exactly if we ourselves can choose which altcoin is indeed suitable for our investment, it cannot be arbitrary in elections because of course the risk is also very large now if we are wrong in investing
There's no other coins to choose but with altcoins in good condition is the best for investment. Because right now lot of altcoins keep dropping so choose the best coins that will make some profit for you.
I'm admit that altcoin is risky investment , riskier than bitcoin,IMO.
But if we talk about profit that able you yield, altcoin is better !
Personally I choose altcoin based local so I can watch their progress more easier or you can choose well known altcoin let say from top 50 coincapmarket to ensure stability value

Yes some altcoins are still good for investments, and you can choose some top 100 coins or 200 and also some of them have under 1$ value and can grow a lot in future because some are still in development phase.

I usually check the price and the chart of that altcoin. If i think the price is really low, i will buy that altcoins and invest my money into it because i'm sure it will go up again later. For example like ethereum, if the price below the standard, i will buy some and hold it. 
Not all altcoins are good for investment, you have to be careful about choosing them, for example ethereum, eos, neo coin is worth considering for investment in the future
Indeed we need to learn various points when deciding to invest, this is to be able to overcome what happened. By considering price, popularity, volume, and capitalization, we can predict coins that might help to achieve what we want. Each coin has a different movement but is still affected by the parenting coin.
For me, i prefer the popularity of the altcoin to invest with, not with the price because this current market situation is too lame and its too risky to invest on any not popular coin, except for the altcoins that has the potential and good for long term investments, like ethereum, litecoin and monero coin.

I choose altcoin to invest base on its potential and popularity to other peoples interest , Etherium for me is the best buy and best to invest amongs other altcoins because etherium can make a huge profits once its value goes high just like the bitcoin. And it is the most popular altcoin in the cryptocurrency world.

at times like this, I will only choose altcoins that have popularity and have high prices because such coins have the potential to recover, it will be very profitable because when the bullrun occurs, the coin is likely to return to the highest price and because now the price is cheap then we will be able to take a lot of profits, for example ethereum, when there is bullrun and ethereum can return to the highest price then we will make a profit of more than 600%
I just go in for the ones with realistic project that looking at the current condition there is a greater percentage of breakthrough. Not all project will survive so there is the need to be extra careful.
It is wise for us to choose the altcoin to invest, of course the thing we have to pay attention to is its popularity because by looking at it, we will most likely get a good altcoin so we get the benefits in it and for that price it will also be good because many people do things the same but so far if the price is good then the popularity will follow because there will be many people who follow the coins.
For long term investment, I always look for the functionality of the technology behind the altcoins. Does the technology have the potential to be useful? This is always comes in my mind when making decision of big investment.
Right now, with that BTC dominance I will always take that offer to invest in some interesting altcoins. Outside TOP10? TOP25? It's only personal decision.
I see the potential of the coin, what is the roadmap and the plannning from the developers, alt coin could be a good investment but it need a thorough research, because of the cheap price alt coin price got a bigger chance to has a fast rising price, but it also got the tendency become useless coin, so invest in alt coin contain a big risk
To now invest in coins that have large trading volumes and popular coins. That way our investment will be safer and will experience growth. The current condition of many coins has experienced a very sharp decline. You have to be patient in investing and don't panic easily.

Whether you choose alts or BTC, the same thing will happen, either you lose or you win, there are no precise predictions out here. Choose what is that you believe in, don't just invest in others suggestions and if some say to you this and that coin is you should choose, you should stay away from that guy. DYOR if you will be investing in alts, even if it is already a established coin.
