Hello Everyone, I'm very new to Altcoins, Cryptocurrencies In General. I'm Looking for someone's advice that has been around for a while to kind of give me some tips or pointers on how to spot legit coin's, what to look for before investing. Really just any guidance on a basic level would be greatly appreciated.

Here are some of mine:
1. Research their website, bitcointalk announcement, Twitter.
2. Read their roadmap and whitepaper to see if anything interesting.
3. Go to Coinmarketcap to research their trading volume and their exchanges.
4. Join their Discord channel and see what they are discussing.
5. Finally if you are still interested, make your decision.

If you want to invest right now, then consider the stable coins ETH NEO. and the other coins need to be studied in detail at first.

The best advice I can give you is that you should be at all times be more eager to learn than to earn. This mindset in my opinion is the best mindset a newbie can ever have because if developed as a habit or as an attitude towards this industry, it will surely bring a lot of good choices which will then lead to better income or profits in the future.

Just avoid someone who is shilling coins that you don't even know what that coin really is.
You will encounter people that are looking for newbies like you that doesn't know anything about crypto's and will say good things about what they are about to shill. There are few suggestions that will help you but it's up to you if you will follow it. While you are reading some informative facts from others do a side research on your own.

The best thing to do is do your own research and makes some study about the project you want to invest money. A lot of legit project but of course it depends to the use case. Do not trust those people just want to hype and pump the coin. Choose those project with organic price rise rather than quick pump then they will dump. Just to remind you also invest only you can afford to lose.

The first thing an investor must have before investing in crypto is the basic knowledge of crypto. We can not invest in a place that we do not generally know and we learn about things that are inside. Then you have to understand what is called blockchain. You need knowledge when you will jump into the marketplace.

As a newbie I will advise you stay away from investing for now, what you will do first is to study about crypto space and learn everything you need to know about cypto currency and crypto space, after learning then you can start investing.

Since you are new in this kind of field, make some sort of studies and reviews about how this crypto industry works. Well, no one will probably make assurance that a project proposed is legit or not. In this case, let us consider the framework of the platform, its team member, its roadmap that discuss the development of the project and the whole talk abouts how this project is doing.

Sometimes it is wrong to hodl an altcoin if the sustainability of the project is very low. If you feel the project is not enough good, it's better to sell the token early. Being a bounty participant, don't hesitate to sell and dump tokens.

experience is the best teacher, then you should seek experience in cryptocurrency first
do not be afraid to try something new on cryptocurrency, because altcoin and bitcoin will give you so much experience
currency is only a cover only, while the contents are technology blockchain, miners, token utility, smart contract, and so forth

That Seems like sound advice to me.. Right now I'm in the Airdrop for PRIV Coin, but other then that I haven't really invested in anything.. Its allot to read through and even when I Find a coin that seems like it may be worth while, I google it and find mixed reviews all the time.

The best suggestion from me is choose a good project before blindly investing in a coin. There are various ways through which you can get a good project and maybe they will help you. First of all, you should research yourself. Join peer-to-peer discussion, look at a project team, its features, join bitcoin forum etc.

There are lots of coins available over the market and which one is promising is very hard to find for the newbie
Its better to have a research by investing your time in it because investing time here will not leads you in regret for your investments its better to have a thorough research over the altcoins in which you want to invest because you dont want to be scammed over the market
And its better to invest your coins in a scattered amount as this will save from all the loss at once, pick those coins which are in  Big exchanges so your trust issues can be resolved here , watch for good projects and also compare coins with each other
You can even search for the trending altcoins in the market but better not to be blindfolded when it comes to investment.

Go for Bitcoin or Ethereum, the second one is the king of alternative cryptocurrencies, so you can call it a work with alts, lol. I was investing only in top ones, because at the beginning, I was highly afraid of scam everywhere.

As far, as you are a newbie, I would recommend you to buy only tested and overall accepted currencies like the top 10 from the coinmarketcap, or similar rating sites. By doint that, you would secure yourself from scam coins.

You start first by studying and understanding why Bitcoin exists in the first place. I started out as studying basic economics for whatever happens to the economy will definitely influence the lifestyle of every individual. I was so ignorant about the importance of the economy at first until I experienced something challenging lately regarding medical matters. I then realized that not all people could get healthcare and that if you want to live, you'd need to have a lot of money to be able to save yourself. That's the time I realized that my work is not enough for me to save myself nor anyone in my family. And it then further gave me realizations that it just won't save myself now but as well as my future self. So I started to learn why is this and clearly it has something to do with how the whole global economy evolved through numerous fiscal policies and regulations done not by the government but by the central banks. It's all because of inflation that we now experience the current state of the global economy. 3 years later, I have found a gem that would help me beat inflation for the long term and that is an artificial intelligence that would leverage the crypto market space. There are risks in investing. My advice is to study first but if you'd let me shill (even though I am not) about it, the coin is called PCL aka Peculium

Before we know more about altcoin, it would be nice to know the extension of altcoin itself, because I feel it is a good way to help take me there and learn some things without really losing a lot of risk. It really makes me drift over how there's so much to learn.
