Bitcoin for cryptocurrencies is a reserve currency by analogy with the US dollar, therefore, the correlation of Altcoins and Bitcoin is an objective regularity. But of course, there may be significant deviations from the Alts market in one direction or another.

After reading few posts on this forum today I became confused because and I decide to let it out to get answers in return, is it possible for altcoins to grow (altcoin season) without Bitcoin? I'm not talking about pumps like if a coin get burned off it's max supply or if listed on binance and other top exchanges, I'm talking about every altcoins surging on their own without Bitcoin taking the first step...

I do not think that there can be an altcoin bull season without bitcoin being bullish.

But i agree that a certain altcoin can experience sustainable growth without a corresponding bullish btc run.

An example is toko, there was a pre announcement regarding a new exchange listing and that has pumped the price a little higher from 0.03$ to 0.042$..
Small growth indeed, but to me profit is profit.

Nonetheless, always do your own research.

I don't think altcoin can grow without bitcoin because an altcoin is just following bitcoin movements. But altcoin can increase before bitcoin increases, and it's already happened before. The pump will always occur for the altcoin because that is the way for some people to make a profit in bitcoin so they can sell the bitcoin when the price increase. Maybe this time, after bitcoin increase so high, the altcoin season will begin, but the problem is which altcoin that can increase first.

in my opinion this might happen this year. each crypto has its own transaction value and each user. so the higher the transactions carried out, the higher their prices will be. bitcoin will not affect the price movements of Altc, maybe it's just a story and history to remember. when bitcoin became a reference for the growth of Altc, so this is the new year the development of the blockchain and Altc is out of order and affected by BTC prices.

In 2019, there was a lot of altcoin growth without relying on Bitcoin. I have seen some altcoins grow hundreds of times in just a few months, as long as they are good projects and have positive news for them. So it certainly can happen

It's actually possible.
In my opinion, one of the ways to get your coin price move independently is to avoid many of the current "global" exchanges and just focus on your ecosystem, which should be made of mostly decentralized businesses, DEXes, marketplaces, social media, insurances, etc ... but this won't be that easy.
You'll need to be somewhat "independent" of the entire crypto trading space. You need to make your ecosystem very secure, very useful, decentralized, fast, easy to use, etc for both wealthy and regular users to invest, feel very safe and store their coins in...  Your coin will most likely do very well (as long as funds keep flowing in, probably through advertisements, and other means of promotion). If this is done, your coin price growth could even overwhelm external/internal manipulations.

It is possible for a few altcoins to make their own surge without the Bitcoin being in an upward as well, However, for all altcoins in general to make a huge surge altogether, they will need a similar surge if not more from something that they all have in common, which is Bitcoin.

Of course it is possible but this is out of our reach because only the big whales can dictate to this kind of situation. As you can see big investors can easily hype any currency that they like to support and if you are going to check the market the big investors are currently supporting the bitcoin with a dominance of 63% so right now there is no chance for altcoin to grow without the help of bitcoin.

But if someday, the big investors will stop supporting bitcoin and they will support to altcoins then it is the time for altcoins to grow without depending to bitcoin.
Altcoin season will often come unexpectedly and cannot predict what will happen next, so even if you invest early, it will not help your investment. In my opinion, the market will go through another hard time and certainly it is time that you should think more. In addition, the current market depends heavily on Bitcoin so this coin will determine the next trend of this market.

I don't think it's possible for investors to support bitcoin. All prices are now moving to bitcoin, so when bitcoin goes up, altcoin will also follow it, I think investors now support those who really have positive impacts like bitcoin and other top 10 altcoins except below that, investors big maybe won't glance at it.

is it possible for altcoins to grow (altcoin season) without Bitcoin?
For me it is. But with bitcoin absence, market will be in situation where we need to choose which is which for these projects. Imagine bitcoin is gone, Im pretty sure the market will go down, and surely a lot of projects will died out but the market will still able to caught up since we still have major altcoins that almost reaching the level of bitcoin.

There has been a time altcoins did grow in value while BTC was on downtrend. It's rare for us to see such period because altcoins usually move with the speed of Bitcoin most times.
This happened on the past, but with bitcoin dominance increasing, we can always feel the need of it for the altcoin market and that'd happening now.

Let's imagine for a moment that bitcoin does not exist. Can't altcoins exist without it? Altcoins are actually already firmly entered the crypto market and are not going to go anywhere.
Let's imagine first that without Bitcoin, there has not been a crypto market and will be not.
It's not impossible that altcoins season will return without bitcoin but it's less likely to happen, maybe 1% chance only.

Why? that is because bitcoin has been dictating the market, majority of the market movement is based heavily on the movement of bitcoin, therefore in order to see an altcoin season, we need to see a bitcoin bull run first.
Mostly, altcoin seasons appear after very long bear period and are triggered by bitcoin bull runs. You are right and I totally agree with you. But have we witnessed a new bull run of bitcoin just a few hours ago? So yes please wait for another bull run of altcoins.

That can happen altcoin surges without being influenced by bitcoin as long as the fundamentals are strong and the quality of the project is really going well, I think many altcoins have taken this step well they just follow the bullish trend and not the dependence of bitcoin.

But the most important thing is how the quality of the projects they offer, the higher the demand, the more expensive the altcoin.

It's possible and why not? as long as it has a very good fundamental and it will grow without needed help from the bullish trend of bitcoin. I can give you an example and you can now try to see a coin like tezos and even the bitcoin was getting a bearish trend and it was doing an opposite trend and the price is still surging a lot while the whole market was on the bearish trend. In this case fundamental matters a lot whatever the kind of coin. You can also try to read a lot of development updates from the tezos too and tried to create an analysis with the pump that was happening on tezos and you will see a correlation between both. This is an example of how fundamental was creating FOMO.
