That holding period is so long. It will be impractical to do that and you will only waste you time gaining almost nothing. Try buying NEM and hold it for 6 months and also try Ripple. These are the coins that have potential base from my observations.

2-3 years i would strongly recommend XRP, MOD, Quantstamp, PRL, and definitely ICON.

ripple will probably have the biggest gain than any of these other ones though.

What about coins with real world applications which won't become too expensive for the average person to obtain one or for a large corporation/government/entity to create their own? We aren't talking about the complexity of creating an operating system here, we are dealing with something where a small team of individuals can create their own and popularity itself drives acceptance, that is until it doesn't.
It could be suprising which coin is worth the most, but it could be some supply chain management coin like WTC, VEN, AMB or MOD. It could be a date storage coin like SIA or GOLEM. It could be a coin like ETH, NEO or ADA. It could be a centralized coin like XRP or XLM. It could be something based off a real world asset like a coin tied to the price of gold. It could be a marketplace like SYS. Most people in crypto have no idea what they are talking about.

I would consider advice on this subject from someone who has an understanding of crypto currencies but more importantly from someone who has an understanding of business and investments. What has happened in the past will not happen in the future and now that the potential of blockchain technology has become more recognized by institutional investors and big businesses its going to be a completely different story. My guess is everyone is going to be very surprised about what the best coins to hold over 2-3 years will be. If I had to pick one, I would say XLM judging by it's vision, ownership structure, scaleability and the fact that people will likely use it in the future because many people will be getting it for free.

True. It is impossible to hold these coins for two or even three years. Are you sure that these alts will alive after such a long period of time passes? I can guess that you can pick Ethereum and NEO and hold them for 8-12 months.

For such a period I would invest only in the most reliable coins. For example, ETH, NEO, Bitcoin. It seems to me that these coins will become very expensive in a few years. And I believe that they are strong and reliable coins now.

I think the Ethereum and EOS can be give a good profit for 2-3 years. If you want a fast profit you can invest in something ico. You must find a project with good idea.

I would advise you not to talk about such terms as storing altcoins for 2 or 3 years. You can see for yourself how volatile the market is. Calculate the investment for six months. But watch your money. The vector can change with any project in every minute and you should be ready to react quickly.

I think you can consider such coins as the ethereum and NEO because they will always be in good circulation and will be in demand, and in a couple of years their value can grow very well. You can certainly try to play with coins not from the TOP 100, but this is a risk, as lucky.

OMG and NEO is a good investment. Both coins will grow. I think that OMG will cost more than $100, NEO will cost more than $500 in 2019.

I think the OMG coins will go up in price. I believe with the coin, judging from the current price, OMG is very proud. if you put the coin investment in it, you might get more profit from your capital price. I'm sure this year will see an increase in price

2-3years of holding is good to give more profit, most of the altcoins will get at least a 100% profiting. Some has already got a proven track record such as the Eth, NEM, neo, etc apart from bitcoin. These days several ico projects has grown high in very small time period based on which I suggest cardano.

For long term top coins on my priority list are BTC & ETH whereas NEO,Monero,Waves,Cardano are also good because they are being backed by very efficient team of developers,having good market supply existing for last 2-3 years.Prices of these coins would grow with the passage of time.But for long term i would prefer only BTC,ETH and nothing else.

That's fine for long term holding a coin for the time being you can use the higher value and try the waves because they have their own exchange and their platform is good and many projects ico starts with waves.
