BFL may be the first but they are surely not going to be the last. This is the FTCs first foray in the bitcoin space it sets precedent of how they well handle these issues. It will be much harder for them now to turn a blind eye to any other manufacturer/resellers. This is great news for not only us but the industry.

Bitcoin exchange rate skyrocketing today. Looks like the market is very happy for this.

That's what I was thinking, but it also loos like it may have got a little help from paypal too (or mostly) http://www.coindesk.com/paypal-announces-first-partnerships-bitcoin-space/

now if we could only leverage apple pay with bitcoin. Store the wallet address on the secure element of the phone like with the creditcards/debitcards have a payment process that uses tokenization (maybe though some one like coinbase, or bitpay) and then just use our fingers to pay via bitcoin at brick and motor merchants as easily as we can pay online merchants.

FYI Authorities both federal and local authorities are watching this forum like hawks now. Let's just say I have it on good authority on the matter. So I would suggest those of you who have been scammed by AMT start telling your story. If you have not previously posted please post. If not then at least file a report with the FTC ASAP. Joshua Zipkin/AMT is also on the hook here and ready to go down.

Well he is planning an appearance at Las Vegas....either that or whoever he sends in his place will be arrested in his stead. Either way its not going to go well for him. Bulgaria has a treaty with the US so if there is a felony charge he can be extradited back to the USA http://bulgaria.usembassy.gov/treat/extradition-treaty.html

Relevant links. BFL and AMT have VERY similar circumstances and it appears that the FTC and federal government is starting to take action to address these  shady vendors. Law enforcement in various jurisdictions are also apparently showing an interest in this matter. It is important that we continue to press on as and contact law enforcement both local and federal until we get results. Joshua Zipkin pulled the same trick as BFL with delaying the launch of hardware.

From all appearances it seemed he had the China miners up for quite a while at least a month mining before even shipping them (I have pulled logs from a machine that has logs to show the machines operation time which is something that cannot be forged or falsified). While cgminer has no logs, the linux system does and gives quite a bit of insight into how long the machine was running, uptime and all that. This will vary with individual miners, but I imagine the variation will be minimal but consistent. Anyone who got the original image with their miner or created a backup will notice this if you have the Linux skills to look at it.

At any rate AMT is also in a much more damned position as there is far more evidence here including things said by the CEO to use to prove their fraudulently criminal behavior. I do hope that there is jailtime for Joshua Zipkin and his co-conspirators as well in all this. BFL has gone down and they were the big fish in all this. AMT is a relatively small fry but a notable one. These scammers are falling like dominos.

But didn't he move to afscamistan or somewhere he can't be prosecuted?

AMT/ Joshua Zipkin saga = the village idiot version of the BFL scam. Draw parallels here.

-Failed to deliver in a timely manner (manufacturing errors first then later just delayed shipping as is proven in chats with Josh Zipkin BFL famous for this)
-mined with our hardware (proof is in linux logs in untouched miner image BFL bought a mining pool again proof)
-Lied about shipping repeatedly with the whole 2-3 week line (BFL should sue AMT for trademark infringement on that line)
-Spent OUR money on legal fight against US. (BFL did this too)
-Spent OUR money on 2-3 month stay in China and expenses (Luxuries as Joshua Zipkin living in Bulgaria at the moment)
-Spent OUR money on travel throughout Europe and US bitcoin conferences even sponsoring one.
-Stated he has no intention of refunding anyone ("Fuck the MPP" being the famous phrase he uttered this one is just stupid to admit to clients so yea village idiot version)
-Insulted, threatened or intimidated anyone who called him out on his lies or antics (Like BFL did)
-Kept a naughty and nice list (again this is unique to Joshua Zipkin villiage idiot edition)

All while having failed to deliver to a number of people even still AND or send parts missing miner deliveries.

So let's list what AMT_miners aka Joshua Zipkin has done.

For reference search forum for "AMT leak" or google it and find the various news articles on it.

-Cheated customers of various sums of money well over the million dollar mark (this has already been confirmed with the much larger orders)
-Threatened and/or intimidated (or attempted to) customers with lack of refunds or miners to require their silence (illegal to do).
-Posted (illegally) anyone's PRIVATE CUSTOMER information (including yours truly) breaking a number of US privacy laws in the process <- this one is a real stupid thing to have done in light of target and home depot hacks. So it's getting the attention it deserves.
-Made death threats to specific forum members and detailed such threats in private to customers.
-Made public claims of refunds, but in a private group chat stated he Joshua Zipkin would not refund customers. "fuck the MPP" was one of the various notable phrases used.
-Lied repeatedly to customers about shipping dates claiming 2-3 weeks but in reality had nothing to show for it. Again proof in the leaked chats.

This list could be a thread by itself, but these are the most notable items. And should be posted for reminder as to why we want justice. I hope those of you reading contact the FBI. They specifically handle these kinds of white collar crimes. If you need guidance on this please reach out via PM I have been in direct consultation with them on this. the more people come forward against Joshua Zipkin and AMT, the better chances this case gets a successful prosecution and we get our money lost back (even partial is better than nothing at this point).

the next step in mr.zippkins plan is to sell all mined bitcoins and run. and then hide under a rock in bulgaria. btc price drops now and his mining farm will be worthless. i think no refunds for you or you or you!

He never intended to. He may claim it publicly but the leaked chats (search forum for zipkin leaked chat) he states otherwise.

The fact that is said:

But Cointerra is a legitimate organization of guys that know what they're doing, their not in over their heads and they were upfront and direct with everyone every step of the way, something we should have done from day 1.

Isn't that an admission from AMT that not only that they were not upfront and direct (meaning they were obscuring the truth and still taking orders), but that they are not even a legitimate company.

lol better to not have tipped off Josh on that. Well we got mirrors and wayback on that thread anyway. But he has a tendency to edit his comments once he is called out. Still that single comment pretty much stands on its own as an admission that he is not legit, dishonest and or incompetent both in the eyes of the court/law as a bad situation.
