I am using this app on both an andriod and a apple device. How do I get a hold of the BCC fund? I have been google-ing without luck..
If you use your seed to restore to a BCC wallet that supports a Derivation Path of m/0' then you should be able to access the BCC. I would "guess" that the only BCC wallet capable of this at the present time is "Electron Cash"... and only the desktop versions, as the Android APK is only at version 2.8.2 (so doesn't have the derivation path patch that 2.9.0 has)

NOTE: "Electron Cash" is currently an 'unproven' wallet at best... it seems to be a direct fork of Electrum... and is open source... but it is NOT developed or endorsed by the Electrum dev ThomasV... it will also, by default, attempt to copy your Electrum wallet file(s) over to the Electron Cash directory... and the binaries are signed by an "anonymous" developer.

Running from the sources is possible and is probably the safest option for now... if you choose to use it... as is following ThomasV's advice of creating a new wallet, sending all your BTC there... then use the old seed to import to BCC wallet. That way, only your BCC is at risk if the BCC wallet you choose to use is "bad"™

Thanks for your answer. It feels like my best bet would be to wait and see what happens. I'm not super comfortable with the Electron Cash wallet untill it gains a little trust in the market..

Feature request for Breadwallet to have the option to delete the seed, similar to CoPay.

Would defeat someone being forced to show the seed under duress.

If you start another wallet, your seed will be deleted.

Went to check now and I noticed I finally have the "early access" tab unlocked Cheesy

Breadwallet 31 at least on Android already has the ability to change from bits to bitcoin. Go to settings > local currency and at the top where the conversion rate for your chosen currency is listed just touch and swipe to the left. You can choose from three options: bitcoin, bits and milllibits. Problem solved. Thanks Breadwallet can someone confirm this is working on iPhone?

I can't believe it but this feature was actually introduced! I'm pleasantly surprised Smiley

Wed, it's difficult to post a screenshot of it, but on the menu BitcoinNewsMagazine referred to you have how much a unit of your fiat currency equates to Bitcoin in the moment, at the top. That's where you have to swipe left. When you swipe, it changes to mB and then to Bitcoins.

Could you post a screenshot? I'm on the newest version and there is no option for!

Can't confirm.
On iOS it's still bits. Looking forward that this feature also comes for iOS.

So i created an address at bitaddress and wanted to make sure the privkey would work before i sent any larger amounts of bitcoin to it so i scanned it with bread wallet but did not sweep funds.  so my question is does that ios device or does the breadwallet app on the device store that somewhere or will it be forgotten about because i didn't sweep the funds ?

i no longer have the device thats why i am asking.

I think we should move to Bits asap, it wont take long until we all get used to it, there simply isnt enough bitcoins for large scale adoption and the average joe wont want to use anything after the decimal 0.001...... Undecided

i have seen it myself, after convincing my brother to buy some bitcoin i then tried to persuade him to buy small amounts to even out the volitility, but he just couldnt think of buying 0.1 per month he had to have a bitcoin which at the time cost £600, if he had listened he would have got the full bitcoin for much less..... Undecided

but this is what we will be dealing with when the crowd arrives........

Or just simply the possibility to set what the format should look like, like nearly every other wallet?

He's already said he doesn't want to do that.

Also we want to help the bitcoin community move to bits from full btc, to help grow bitcoin adoption. Large parts of the world population can't deal with arbitrary precision decimal numbers, and the sooner we switch the less painful the switch will be.

I've been on Bitcoin for quite some time and I still get confused with the bits terminology, full Bitcoin just seems so much easier to understand... But I guess that's only me Cheesy

1,000,000 bits = 1 btc

You're definitely not the only one, we get a lot of complaints about this. People hate changing from what they are already used to. This is why it's so important to make the switch now while bitcoin is still small. The more it grows the more painful it will be to switch the standard denomination.

So, I have a suggestion. You currently display bits with selected local currency in parentheses:

b1,000 ($0.61)

Why not add "BTC" as a local currency? Then the above would be displayed as:

b1,000 (BTC0.001)

We use the default bip32 path (m/0H/0 and m/0H/1)

I know, that's the reason why the seed of breadwallet isn't compatible with other HD wallets.
