Yea I'm also thinking twice a week would be best.

The block explorer that I'm currently using doesn't allow for address look up. I've only found one that does allow address look up and you have to setup a SQL database for it. If I remember right the name of it is Abe block explorer. I may test it out and add it in the future.

Ok guys I've about got the BitQuark Lotto page finished  Smiley So next question for everyone...How would you guys like to do the drawing? Every 6 hrs, 12 hrs, 24 hrs? Twice a week? or Once a week?

So to recap on how it works, for every 10 BTQ's it will equal one entry and the winner will get 75% of the pot...the other 25% will go towards bounties and future development.
I feel like once a day would be too much. Maybe twice a week?

Also how do you use the blockchain explorer to search by address?

1)  Is there a "known good" CentOS build procedure?  I took a shot at getting the Github BitQuark-0.8.3.8-r16 to build on CentOS release 5.10 and it's not playing well.

Just a quick update to this... I seem to have a working instance of  BitQuark-0.8.3.8-r16 to build on CentOS release 5.x now ...  going to let it run for a day or two to verify stability, then duplicate it to another machine.  If it works twice, I'll post here with the steps required.

TTFN.

I really wish the person running CPU-Pool.net would lower the confirmation from 260 down to 140  Undecided

Well if you weren't mining at 15Mh/s then it WOULDN'T be such an issue! NOW WOULD IT???  Tongue

Yea true lol...usually I just solo mine, except if the diff is high then I'll jump in the pool and help out...I guess sometimes I stay in the pool too long lol  Grin

Ive been p2pool mining on this pool. Also, if you are p2pool mining, the name and password in your config file doesnt matter.

This is a good miner to use for the quark algorithm. Just download any of the windows binaries that includes "QRK".

My .bat file for mining on that p2pool looks like this.
Quote
sgminer -k quarkcoin -o btq.ext-pool.net:2020 -u PutYourBTQAddressHere -p X -I 16 -g 4 -w 64

Happy mining! If you have any issues just post here and we will help ya out.

G'morning, folks...

Can anyone provide a working example config for "Wallet Mining" ?  I'm playing around with an older Windows XP machine that actually has a decent CPU/GPU in it, so for interests sake I put a copy of the BTQ 32-bit Windows Wallet on it.  Runs fine, no issues.

I currently have 11 connected peers, and am up to date on network transaction history.  So, all is well on that front.

I went to the console and entered "setgenerate true 1" followed by "getmininginfo" and got what seemed to be reasonable data back.  I left it run all night, and as of this morning, can't see that anything has actually happened.  Smiley

All of the dedicated CPU/GPU miners that I can find do not run on WinXP ... they immediately crash out.  Hence the interest in getting "Wallet Mining" working on this box.

Thanks in advance for any help that's provided!

Don't check the address above with a block explorer...you might cry.  Wink

I do.

I'm still just CPU mining.

Now I remember why I hate trading on BTer...they are slow as hell. Just sent 2600 QRK to sell so I can then send the BTC's over to C-Cex to buy more BTQ's. Well I've already got more than 32 confirmations and still nothing showing up on BTer...GRRRR!!

EDIT: Took 30 mins for BTer to process the transaction...smh

The future is bright, the future is bitquark!

I think so too!!! If people were smart, they would grab up as many BTQ's at the current cheap price, because when BTQ hits a major exchange such as Cryptsy I think the volume of trading and price will go up a lot!!!

just be careful not to buy BTQ at bter.com because that's not actually BitQuark Wink

Yea I know! I think that has some people confused, cuz I saw it on another site and it was listed as BTQ BitQuark but its not BitQuark lol

I used to chat about coins with him a lot back in the early days of cryptsy. I just linked him to this topic and told him I mined since launch...

In chat last night I asked BitJohn to add btq to the vote page and he graciously obliged.
