what is the whole reasoning behind this swap? Not sure i fully understand what will be going on in the next couple days. Can I get a ELI5? Thanks!

Don't worry, soon you all will see.
Thing to remember is that today, it is recommended to  stop POS minting and preparing for the transition to version 3.0 DMD.
Here a detailed description of what steps you should take to make that happen safely http://bit.diamonds/DMD_2.0_to_3.0_guide.pdf

Of course you can continue to make the POS rate until the 13th of September (this day will cast all addresses and balances DMD wallets to migrate to the new network DMD v 3.0). But if you have to this point will be active coins in the stake, they can be lost. It is therefore recommended to prepare for the update in advance.

But even if for some reason you skip these steps and your wallet 2.0 has several addresses, then you have to import private keys for each address in a new wallet.
No coins will be lost.
This procedure does not have time limits and will work at the time of up to 10 years.

I read here that after dmd v.3 Diamond will cost 0.002 BTC or even 10 dollars.
Are you serious? will be so serious changes and only 10 dollars?

DMD will cost much more! Smiley

Given that the DMD seeks to get into the TOP-100 at coinmarketcap.com
At least 15-20 dollars!

This coin has not been to the summit for a long time. I am standing on the top of the mountain at this moment

This is not the top of the mountain.
If you carefully read the pages of this forum, you will see that after the update, the price should go up  Wink

Hello guys, I have few questions. I would like to invest big in Diamond.

- Is diamond going to be added on more exchanges very soon?
- What's the reason Diamond isn't listed on any other exchange except for bittrex? It's a very old coin.
- What's the main purpose of Diamond?

Of course we are going to promote Diamond to embed it on other exchanges.
But it will be after a successful update.
The main purpose of the DMD is secure storage and accumulation of your wealth with the possibility of obtaining permanent income.
Our basic concept is the promotion of DMD as a system of transactions between jewelry shops and services, related with antiques and artwork

Sorry to have caused a stir, didn't mean to, was just testing some stuff out. Ran into some issues compiling DMDv3 on my Raspi, left an issue here: https://github.com/LIMXTEC/DMDv3/issues/23. Yet, from what I understand now, given your post, I'd probably best just wait a little longer and attempt my build as soon as the final version of DMDv3 arrives at the 'normal' github page.

I'll take a step back and wait. Sorry to have intruded. Hope the submitted issue might still be of some use though.

Cheers.

This question concerns V3

Since there is a fixed payment per block, it would be important to have
as many blocks as possible but, still mint in as close to 9 days as possible.

Has the team an estimate for the best size for input blocks?

POS mature time will be 640 blocks pos min age 60 min
this means a coin pile that found a block can join competition again after ~25 hours

we estimate a good coinpile size will be in the area 300-500 DMD

and we have wallet settings that help u affect the split/merge mechanics used together with POS
so ur coin piles will stay in the desire size range

more details in a POS guide short after release

the goal is to have a zero micromanagement enviroment that still is adaptable by user

the design goal of DMDv3 POS3 was clear combine security with comfort

As far as I know, by default, a new wallet is installed, the separation of the coins into blocks of 200 pieces (for optimal POS minting).
In testing we check this system. Maybe she will still be corrected but it will be known later..

Hi all,

Question, is there any sort of guide on how to properly build a DMDv3 wallet ready for staking on a Raspberry Pi 2? Couldn't find it on Github?

Also, if I'd choose to start staking via that way, would it be advised to buy some coins now on Bittrex and transfer them to my RPi-wallet once Bittrex is on DMDv3 as well, or is it safer to wait until Bittrex has transitioned before buying coins? Any opinions?

Thnx all!

Cheers,

S.

The minimum waiting time in DMD v 2.0 for starting POS minting is 9 days.
So buying coins now, you will not have time to bet in the current wallet.
Only already in the updated DMD v 3.0.
You can choose what will be better, buy coins now and send them to your wallet or leave it on the stock exchange and wait for the update.

Thnx! That clarifies.

And regarding my first question of getting DMDv3 to run on Pi, are there any instructions? If not.. which is the official Github Repository for DMDv3, I've found multiple.. could it be this one: https://github.com/LIMXTEC/DMDv3 ?

I'm also interested about running a wallet on a Raspberry Pi 3, I tried windows 10 and it's not working...it seems windows is not supported yet and with linux I'm not familiar....

Strange to hear that the wallet is not working on Windows 10.
Although I always recommend using Windows 7 to work with crypto currency, because it is associated with security settings.
On Windows 10, you have virtually no opportunity to block the leak of your personal information Microsoft and its cloud servers.
On the Windows 7 test DMD wallet 3.0 is functioning normally, but we will soon check for version of Windows 10.
That about work on the Raspberry Pi 3, - of course we will have support for this operating system.
Maybe even we create a separate channel in #Slack if users will have many questions associated with this system.

Has the DMD team experimented on the size of
input blocks to use to POS as quickly as possible?

The block size, in the system DMD v 3.0 is 3 MB, this to use it White Paper what's the problem?
I was not clear, Sorry. In V2 you recommend 500+ coins per input to POS mint as soon after
coins mature (9 days) as possible...i.e. an input block of 20 coins or even 100 coins may
take many more day in V2. With the expectation that many coins will be in masternodes in V3, has
anyone estimated the appropriate size coin input blocks to still POS mint as close to the 9 days
but, create as many blocks as possible?

I think that now no longer makes sense to discuss the DMD version 2.0.
In 3.0, anyone who has coins, will be able to participate in POS minting almost immediately after purchase.
That is, to start earning money during the day.
