for masternodes i always suggest to set up a remote masternode on a VPS without any real coins inside
u can expect earn back more than whole month VPS cost in a single day easy

as stated there is 3 ways to run a masternode
local with static IP
local with onion hidden service
remote without any real coins inside (coin are in a control wallet that only need to be online at the moment of start the masternodes)

I read on one forum that having a dedicated IP you are in fact becoming a potential victim of various attacks with a very high risk.
