I am a non US resident and I want to transfer funds from my bank account in the US. Does Kraken have an account in the US where transfers can be made to or must all transfers made to your account in Japan?

Hi Upcomingdiamondinvestor. Thanks for reaching out to us.

Non-us residents can only withdraw to a bank outside of the US. Please see https://support.kraken.com/hc/en-us/articles/204061046-How-do-I-deposit-USD-into-my-account-non-US-Resident- for more details.

.....

Thanks for your patience.

Trading on your platform requires more than patience: Total error rate already above 91% again.

And your devs are working soooooooo hard on solving the problem. (you probably meant "hardly working" and not "working hard")

Stop your freaking lies, get out of crypto land, & leave running a trading platform to professionals

+1
First step - froze all altcoins and stop trading.
Second step - trade only btc (as was years ago), as seems your 4 months old "new platform" doesn't work any more.
Third step - don't lie people and let them withdraw their funds from your broken exchange

next update: we have reached an incredible 99.63% error rate over the last 92 orders to be placed!

It just took me about 20 minutes and a LOT of frustration to cancel three orders and create a new one. Clicking the red cancel button (old UI) does nothing most of the time (but still makes me wait for about half a minute every time i try) and creating orders results in an error almost every time.

Here is a list of the various errors i've encountered so far (since i started recording them (and again, almost every attempt at creating or replacing an order results in one of these)):

Old UI (www.kraken.com):
  • Your order may have failed. Please refresh the page and check your orders. Contact support if necessary.
  • Invalid response from the server. try again.
  • The submitted form has expired or is invalid. Please resubmit your request. (after less than 30 seconds of opening the form)
  • Sometimes i also get a red error bar without any text.

New UI (trade.kraken.com):
  • Error placing order: Exchange API is unavailable (error code 809)
  • Error placing order: Internal error (error code 820)
  • Error replacing order: Timeout (error code 808)

Reading through this forum topic i'm not the only one. Is something being done to fix this, because the site is practically unusable this way and i'm considering going back to Bitfinex or Bitstamp.

edit: I'm using firefox latest version. The problems occur on both my pc and my phone. Additionally, on my phone the new interface (trade.kraken.com) doesn't work (unresponsive script hangs the page) and in the old interface if i want to change the currency pair in the drop-down menu in the upper left i can only choose XBT/EUR, XBT/USD and ETH/XBT. All the other pairs are hidden in submenus and when i tap a submenu it collapses the whole menu.

@WakeboarderHD & glenb20170: See what happens to you after you have been lured in by "The Kraken". One advise never ever do the mistake of insulting or being disrespectful to the support, or they just ignore you. And then you're really in deep sh$t.

@WakeboarderHD & glenb20170: Dont know on what site of Kraken your trading, however when using the API improvements cannot be seen. There are some variations in Unknown replies & Eservice unavailables, but the total error rate remains a disgrace for us. And its not our API tool, it works perfectly fine on every other trading platform we use it for. And also works fine when traffic on Kraken is low.

To put Kraken's continuous incompetence in numbers:
And as warning to everyone considering to start trading on Kraken. These are typical numbers for trading on Kraken. Anyone feeling to present these error logs in other forums. Please do so. The more we spread the information the less customers get burned on this platform.

On 100 orders to be placed:
53 Eservice unavailables
0 Eservice: Busy
Total calls 100 + 53 + 0 = 153

Eservice unavailables: 53 /153*100%= 34.64%
Eservice Busy: 0 /153*100%= 0.00%
Unknowns: 76/153 = 49.67% of total calls (unknowns need to be checked whether placed or not in open orders, therefore counted as error in API responses)

Total error rate = (55 + 0 + 76)/153*100% = 84.31% (previous 84.13%)
Aka Service close to non-existing....
And still presenting the same old lie to potential new customers/clients on their website (https://www.kraken.com/en-us):

As Kraken has been doing for several months now, continuously & intentionally misleading customers...Kraken...the place to burn your money (if its the hot time of the year for you, you can better use your money to get a cold drink)

Works for me now, stable and fast, after the outages and interruptions over the last days.

Seems the backend is just tanking whenever there is a spike in usage.

you are praising a normal thing.  Wink

LOLOL Perhaps!

But when you're a newbie to Kraken, and making your first run in Crypto, and suddenly thought you'd lost $9K due to a problem specific only to your own account, and were stressed out about it....  the "normal thing" comes as quite a relief!  :-)

HOORAY!!!!!!!

KRAKEN IS WORKING!!!!!!

I just logged in, and the site is snappy, fast, and responsive.  No reloads, no errors, no clicks.

Went right through to Funding -> Withdrawals -> USD, and all the screens came up and came up perfectly and quick!

AND.... my wire transfer is in status SENDING!!!

Cue the Doc Brown voice when he learns about his future self's flux capacitor:   IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice recovery, Kraken!  Thank you!

And especially to user Kraken-Septimus:  Thank you for being here, and for repeatedly responding to my pleas for help!  Whatever they're paying you, I hope they double it!

Very happy, this is the way the site SHOULD work... and I, for one, WILL be back!

Hi glenb20170. I'm sorry the issue is ongoing. I have sent a message to the agent you've been dealing with and they will be looking into your specific issue shortly.
Thanks for your patience.

Dear Kraken-Septimus -

PROGRESS!  The funds in the stuck wire transfer have been returned to my account.   I see that your larger problem with withdrawals is still ongoing; I hope you get it fixed soon.

In the meantime...

Dude. They gave you a perfectly clear answer. Your bank refuses to handle wires from Kraken. Change banks if you want your $$$ out.

I do have a second bank configured, and so, before trying to resort to crypto, I have put in a new withdrawal request for the same amount, using the other bank.

(And interestingly, I was able to just click right through that process, so it looks like they may be making progress on the larger issue.)

I'm not out of the woods yet.... but I'm feeling less worried, and I will *definitely* report back everywhere once I know status!

Thank you all for your help here!

Glen

I find out what you need to do. When you click withdraw you just need to wait. You should never press F5 or reload button or else page will fail with errors like your or few similar (for example increase funding limits etc...).

While the second part of this is true - the system blocks direct links and reloads - the first part is certainly not.  When you click the Withdraw link, you get that error message, and waiting does nothing.  That page doesn't refresh, at least not for me.  It just sits on that message forever.

I am very hopeful that, given the announcement that they are aware of this, Kraken is working on a fix today.
