If you guys find some commits or some suggestions to remove these warnings let me know. But I don't have time to do all the digging and work for you. I am not even official mintcoin win compiler guy, i just thought i would give it to you guys because its easy for me to do.

Isn't this really a problem with Kaspersky?  Maybe someone should contact the company and tell them they are giving false positives for mintcoin-qt.exe.  I bet they could at least whitelist it if we could convince them they are in error.

In the meantime, I am working on compiling the the wallet.  It's just taking a while since I had to setup a vmware instance of Debian, install QT-Creator and all the dependencies.  I'm now down to compiling the libraries and getting mingw to work.  I'll get there it's just going to take awhile.

Keep the goodwill & good work up , it will be of benefit to the whole community to see consolidations & improvements in the King of PoS Coins : MINT

Still more to do before it is ready for a release and merge, hopefully will have time tomorrow.

Yeah Kaspersky goes Trojan crazy for this wallet release. Instawipes it before I can do anything about it.

False positives for Bazon.a and IRCbot

Like I said some virus checkers are weird. I've met a problem with kaspersky before (my bank gave me a free copy as I said some virus checkers are weird that doesnt make them completely wrong tho) (I'm circulating closer to the plane)

Some virus checkers assume anything crypto coin related is malware. Not familiar with this particular checker, just saying...

Did the previous wallet also flag as malware?

I had no problem with the previous wallet but this new one, Kaspersky won't even let me open it or show an option for disinfection. Only options are block or delete.

That is compiled straight from the source. I am guessing it is flagging the irc.cpp as a virus which tends to happen in some of the older wallet codes. Anyone else have any ideas?

Is this the most recent version of the code?, the OP points here and irc.cpp hasnt changed for 2 years. (google points to the same place). If so I doubt its in that file by itself. (some virus checkers are weird and loot at the behaviour of the application as a whole instead of looking for signatures)

Also, can someone donate 0.01 BTC to cryptoID explorer please. I lost all my mining income for this week due to a fiasco on the mining pool i was using. I will be ever grateful for this. Thanks to anyone who donates Smiley
Donation address is in the OP.

You are correct i guess, threat name in Kaspersky is: "Trojan.Win32.IRCBot.wil". I hope you can now correct this in source code. Smiley

I tried the official one as well and Kaspersky is flagging it as a virus. Can someone create a new .exe or solve this?

I just scanned the entire mintcoin directory with malwarebytes and it doesnt hit. This should really be found out which part of the code is causing this, and have it removed from the repo. This should happen no matter who compiles this from source.

Let me know when you guys figure this out and I can recompile for you.

Edit: for reference here is bottlecaps virus discussion, Mint is a clone of CAP so it surely shares some of the same issues: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.11707291

Please note - we still need assistance in compiling for Mac - any takers?
going to boot up into OS X and try to get a compile going.

Thank You for trying , please keep us informed about the proceedings …

If i told you that it would be more pleasurable walking on a combination of broken glass and rusty nails, then soaking my feet in rubbing alcohol...would that accurately describe my night? Wink
