A Mintcoin community update in regards to the @FreeMintCoin twitter account.

I stared this giveaway account some time ago to help promote Mintcoin and to giveaway a token amount of 20 free Mintcoin's to anyone who tweeted their Mintcoin address via twitter to @FreeMintCoin

I have not had the time recently to maintain the account fully and an unforseen issue with the giveaway script / wallet access also presented a temporary issue with the originally allocated giveaway funds.

I contacted 'cryptomommy' before the weekend to ask if someone would be able to take over the giveaway account on my behalf and this is likely to happen once I have sent / honored any outstanding requests missed by the script. Someone will continue to keep the account active in the meantime.

I propose to always maintain the MintCoin Reserve wallet and to top-up the Giveaway wallet as required. The free Mintcoin giveaway amount will be increased from 20 to 200 free Mintcoins for the time being.

One good thing about Mintcoin is that it has been floating within a stable range - top 100 (in a sea of other alt. coins both old and new) see: http://coinmarketcap.com/ - for a considerable number of months now.

There are quite a few factors for this, but stability is generally something to watch for!

The value of Mintcoin should increase nicely in line with the PoS reductions ...

- PoS variable interests: - 1st year: 20% - 2nd year: 15% - 3rd year: 10% - 4th and subsequent years: 5%

Which can in fact be compared somewhat to the block halving in Bitcoin i.e. 50 , 25 , 12.5 etc...

Everyone will most certainly wish that they had been minting Mintcoin with the 20% interest rate, just as everyone wishes that they had been mining Bitcoin (and held) at the 50 BTC block rewards.

Mintcoin can be considered a truly innovative PoS crypto-coin in terms of its long-term economic potential and viability as a currency.

Hold and keep on minting...

1) Speculation on my part, but reasonable imho, 25 to 50 sat (3-6 months), and 100 to 300 within a year. I won't try to guess further out than that.

2) 20 days minimum to stake, and can take a bit longer depending on the amount staking (with 3M+ shouldn't take longer).
    (And if you keep your wallet open more than that, you're really helping out the Mintcoin network!) 

I purchased 3.3 million of this coin. I have a couple of questions for the veterans.

1) What is a realistic expectation of this coin?

2) How long for and how often should I stake my coins? and does it take 20 days to mint?... thanks!

I just want to admit being guilty of the current low price in a small way... I have literally been scooping up millions of Mint at 0.00000002BTC and selling them again at 03. (edit: 2014-09-10 03:45:20   BUY   0.00000002   6547734.42218410  )

However, I do want to point out that I keep at least 10 million Mint in my wallet at all times (just minting away, minting awaaaaay) and this is all done to enlarge my Mint holdings. First I had enough BTC on Mintpal to buy 8 million Mint, now I can buy very, very close to 20 million Mint.

So please, impatient people out there, my buy orders await you at 0.00000002BTC. I need that Mint. I want it. Now. Gimme all your Mints please, and I will ensure they end up in a warm and loving home: My wallet.

Soon I will be minting away with 30 million Mint and everyone who ditched it to me will start crying when the price rises! TO THE MOON!

(Aside from that, I think cryptomommy and the rest of the dev team is doing a great job. A huge turnaround from previous months! I applaud your efforts, and as mentioned above, will continue to soak up those cheap mints like a sponge... It will never fall to 01 as long as I still have a penny left in my pocket. And one day we will be rewarded, this coin has excellent community support as well as very exciting things in the pipeline. It is not if, it is when the price will rise... And yes, I will cry if it is before I have fulfilled my glorious 02 buying orders )

Mintcoin price will go up in october-december?

I have been following Mintcoin for a long time and just wanted to say what a great job you are doing cryptomommy. The forum has turned to nothing but positive talk and that it a great achievement. What address can I donate to. I was waiting to see if the community would hold together before donating.

A lot of people posts on youtube videos or podcasts.
Maybe a Youtube video could be made to show them how to include an mintcoin address in their videos .
Where people could donate mintcoins to them directly in appreciation of their vidoes or podcasts.
And a tutorial on how to buy things from the MintShop.

Agreed return the overview page to how it was in the previous version
Instead of adding anything that embeds and pulls from the internet ,
would suggest just creating the links that then open your browser to the specific website pages or youtube video menus. This way it will not draw resources until clicked on.
We want to keep the Mintcoin wallet as tight and as resource friendly as possible so more users leave it up and minimized to secure the network.
Plus you would have the full browser page or screen to display info and not have to squeeze it in the mintcoin client frame beside something else.
The Top menu File Settings Help has alot of room up there, would suggest adding your links up there,
for example: File Settings News MintShop  Videos PodCasts Help
Learning Center & Developers Resources links would be added under Help.
Click on News and it opens your broswer to your predefined webpage that you can change how you see fit.
Also a link to a block chain explorer would be cool.

This is a idea for the future but something worth thinking about
So that Mintcoin adoption spreads , one day there will need to be an
ONLINE Mintcoin Wallet for regular people, where they just sign in to a web page and check their balance and can send / receive to other people where they have no issues with having to keep up with the blockchain as it is done for them. The developer could charge a fee or percentage of their interest to cover this. Some people prefer convenience over the other aspects, and to bring them into the mintcoin family an online wallet would be required. (Anyway idea for Future)
